Plenty of eye-candy here, but no scenes of interest, hand-gag or full treatment-wise.

According to the synopsis on the mti site, "In the meanwhile, upstairs, Ching Ho vows to help the gagged and tied up Miss Dorothy." Miss Dorothy was the role Kristin Chenoweth was to play.

Another slight possible chance next week. Pepper and a bunch of people are held hostage at gunpoint in a bar. Nice hands up expression from Pepper when the guy pulls out the gun.

I saw the pre-Broadway production in La Jolla and there was nothing. I was even on alert having just learned what the story was about and was disappointed in that respect, but it was a fun show nonetheless. Sutton Foster was amazing and her brother Hunter was in "Urintetown", which does have a scene. Go figure.

Here's the blurb for next week's show from the WB site:

-------
Frat Boys May Lose Their Manhood--Film at Eleven

Pepper's (Rebecca Romijn) personal anger during a live interview lands her on the couch of the company shrink (guest star French Stewart, "Third Rock from the Sun"), who forces her to confront her issues with Charlie (Josh Hopkins). Meanwhile, Kathy's (Brooke Burns) desire to please people leads Pepper to discover dangerous hazing rituals at a college fraternity, leading one of the pledges to hold everyone in the frat house, including Pepper, hostage at gunpoint. Lindsay Price and Rider Strong also star.
-------

So far, I like this show. It's sort of "Mary Tyler Moore" meets "Las Vegas", & the female cast is *VERY* easy on the eyes. :-)

Isn't Larisa Oleynik on this show? Good to see her working again. Now maybe she'll FINALLY get a scene!

I didn't see her, at least she's not in the opening credits.

After reading a few synposes and reviews, I can see where the scene would take place, but it sounds as though the final version of the show cuts from the character's disappearance to her later on turning up rescued. That MTI synopsis is probably from an earlier script, not reflecting changes made up to the show's opening.

The principal reason for my interest is that I have a chance to work on a production next year, but the timing would be lousy for me, and some sort of interesting peril for an actress or two is about the only thing that would have got me to change my mind. Thanks for all the responses.

NPR's Fresh Air interviews producer of "Notorious Bettie Page"
Heard this on NPR today - very interesting as Terry Gross (the host) interviews Mary Harron about making the film and her research on Bettie Page. You can hear the interview (~60minutes) at http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5338552
. Click on "Listen" under the headline. The associated text is included below.

--
Fresh Air from WHYY, April 12, 2006 · Director Mary Harron says of 1950s pin-up queen Bettie Page, "She's like Betty Crocker coming out with a tray of cookies, and yet she's posing with a whip. She's so wholesome and at the same time she's very sexual." Harron explores this dichotomy in her film about the icon, The Notorious Bettie Page.

Page, who grew up in a religious family in Tennessee, became a sensation via her photos in men's magazines such as Wink, Beauty Parade and Titter. But she also appeared for private clients in photographs and short films that featured her in S&M scenarios. Her sexually charged poses eventually led to her being targeted by a Senate pornography investigation.

Harron's film opens in theaters Friday.
