Friday May 05 11:40:57 2006 "Carter of Mars" on hold?? |
Here's a news item from SciFi.com:
------- Director Jon Favreau (Zathura) told SCI FI Wire that Paramount has put the the long-gestating film adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' John Carter of Mars on hold, pending the success of his next directing project, Iron Man, and the upcoming 11th Star Trek film. "It ain't happening now," Favreau said in an interview at the Saturn Awards in Universal City, Calif., earlier this week. "Iron Man is my next film, and I hope that I get to do Carter as well. So that would, by definition, be not a priority for them." The 11 volumes of Burroughs' classic adventure series center around a Civil War veteran who takes shelter in a cave when pursued by a group of Apache Indians. Once inside, he suddenly finds himself transported to Mars, where he's taken prisoner by 12-foot-tall green men. Despite the delays, Favreau said he was pleased with a recent draft of the script by Ehren Kruger (The Skeleton Key, The Ring), as well as some of the early concept art he's seen. For Paramount, the issue isn't the quality of the work, but the timing of the project. "The studio really liked it," Favreau said. "But they've committed to doing the Star Trek franchise, to start that up again, with J.J. [Abrams], and they have other science-fiction properties, and they don't think the timing is right. And, hopefully, by continuing my relationship with them, by doing this Iron Man film, I'll leave the door wide open for Carter, which is a much more challenging property." Favreau is the third director to be attached to the project, following Robert Rodriguez (Sin City) and Kerry Conran (Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow), who were involved in earlier incarnations. —Cindy White ------- Burroughs' Mars isn't exactly Gor, but people (including Deja Thoris) get captured by various enemies on a regular basis. I was REALLY LOOKING FORWARD to a beautiful actress in a costume that would make Leia's slave costume look prudish being dragged through Barsoom with her hands tied. {Sigh} Jessica Alba? Eva Longoria? CATHERINE BELL was *born* to play Deja Thoris!! ...& now they've farted around 'til she's too old (*maybe*), & they're not even *finished* farting around. It just goes to show, you can be a wealthy & powerful Hollywood producer & *still* have your head so far up your @$$ you can smell stomach acid. "We want you to do Ironman first." MORONS!! |

Otherwise the Moderator will delete the link. If it's not from a proper movie or TV show, it's off-topic here in any case. |

Friday May 05 13:27:48 2006 Re: MI3 - Nice comment from Michelle |
Given that MI3 is the first big film of the summer, AND more importantly, that it features the super cute Michelle as a DiD, could we perhaps interpret this as an omen that this will be a good summer for DiDs in film? With Pirates of the Caribbean 2 coming out, let's hope so, as I am still smarting from the lack of DiD scenes in the first! |

An easier thing is to click 'Share this Video' and then send it to your email address. |

Friday May 05 18:42:28 2006 Favourite Movie Serial Damsel |
Just finished watching "The Tiger Woman" starring Linda Sterling for the first time. She wears an incredibly sexy outfit thoughout and gets a fair few tie up scenes (though I think only one gag).
I think this is the best old serial i've seen since the legendary 'Manhunt of Mystery Island' (Which incidently is well overdue a DVD release) also starring Sterling. So is she the Queen of the serials? Or is there someone better? I'm not just talking quantity here, i'm talking quality, so let's hear your thoughts. |

I've seen stills, but never the entire commercial before. It's actually a Swiss commercial, not French (yes, the language is French, as that is one of the four officially recognized Swiss languages). |

Friday May 05 19:14:47 2006 YouTube |
This post was deleted. Poster: FFF Reason: Youtube is allowed as long as it is on-topic (so amateur or real-life NOT allowed) and there is a good description of what the clip is. People don't want to go there and through the hassle of loading it just to find out it wasn't of interest. |

A "holy grail" isn't, or shouldn't be, or just any scene you are anxious to see or have been looking for for a while. This is a potentially useful term, but not if it is used to label 50% of all the scenes out there. |
Last night, I shook my groove thing. |
Friday May 05 22:38:18 2006 I am sick of youtube |
What is so great about youtube? Oh boy, a stupid grainy clip. Enough is enough.
This place WAS great, until youtube came along. Now instead of people asking question & posting possibilities, all I see is youtube crap. Just take a look at Cinco de Mayo. 9/10ths of the posts were about a youtube clip. Lame, so lame… |

Friday May 05 23:03:05 2006 Re: YouTube |
Yikes, such negativity!
Yes, for me this was THE holy grail of d-in-d scenes which I was looking for, whether you like it or not. I've never described 50% of everything else as a holy grail. I've never described ANYTHING else as a holy grail. And everyone will have a different 'holy grail' - and what's wrong with that? What word or term would you suggest people use for a scene they've been waiting years to find - I'm open to suggestions. As for the youtube naysayer - yes, usually people get excited about a new and novel way of finding and seeing our kinds of clips - especially if they're clips we've hoped to see for a long time (the XTC clip was another good one) with no opportunity. Live with it . . . or contribute the kinds of posts you would like to see rather than trying to ruin others' fun! |

Saw a pregnant lady that was setting on a table or box. Her hands were bound behind her and she was gagged with grey tape. Only saw last 8 min, so unsure when everything starts. |

I don't mean YOU, personally, dude, it was just a general observation. I think the term "holy grail" gets a bit overused, and therefore, means nothing after a while. There were a couple of recent posts referring to it, not just yours. |
And tt'at'll all there is to say about that. |

Mob was targeting the lead cop's family, so with two guys in it, I was hoping for the old decoy storyline so they could grab Diane Farr. Looks like not, but gotta check the tape. |
