I've rediscovered that it was screened in the UK in 1995 - within weeks of the final episode of "Chandler & Co", for which I needed the tape!

No. Episode 11 is not Eastenders at all, but a BBC medical drama which I can't name...it begins with a "C", I think. I have seen this clip referenced on this page many times before.

Here it is. Clip 11 on Raffish's ID page is described in the database:

Title: Casualty
Medium: TV Series
Actress: Sandra Huggett

Description: Episode: "Breaking the Spell" (15.36)

Casualty, is the British equivalent (and precursor -- it started in 1986) of ER. In this episode, Dr. Holly Miles (Huggett), is gagged with duct tape and bound in the last 20 minutes of the episode.

The plot: Sexy young Dr. Miles meets a deranged mental loon in (where else but the Casualty Department of the hospital). Over the past couple of episodes, he has developed a crush on her the way deranged loons do and kidnaps her, holding her in the previously never mentioned old hospital site. Her ties her wrists to an old metal bed and beginning to menace her to the extent British censors with allow (i.e., not very much).

Like any loon worth his salt he wants to die in a double suicide plot with his beloved, so runs off to get her a lovely ball dress. But wait all she has to do is scream to get her brainless doctor boyfriend. Luckily someone fifty years ago invested DiDtape, er, I mean duct tape and he holds it close to her.

She panics, "I was knocked unconscious! Gag me and I could vomit and choke."

He gags her anyway. Excellent clips of the gagging and Holly trying to move the bed out of the hospital room. He comes back and unties her as he drugs her and himself for the finale.

But kids, this is Saturday night UK primetime TV so nobody that young and nice will die. So her heroic boyfriend (who did such a bad job trying to find her) gives her the kiss of life and saves her as the credits roll.

Bad news, my friends.

Either YouTube has been hacked, or something else bad has happened.

I watched several of these videos just a few hours ago, and now I just get a message that says: "ALL YOUR VIDEOS ARE BELONG TO US."

Figured as much. Not exactly the most professional downtime message I've seen, and I'd probably be fired if I put something like that up on my work site during maintenance, but it's pretty funny. More power to 'em.

Was searching DB using A&E as keyword for this scene when you posted this. Like how she wises up at the end and

Cool, Tapemaster. Along similar lines, the spreadsheet that will drive my new site will be living at the address below, for anyone whom it might assist.

In a perfect world, we'd get this all integrated. Sadly, as with world hunger and stupid drug laws, there are some technical challenges to be considered, but it might happen if we really want it.

Doing a conversion to Excel would
solve this. Excel files can be opened
in a web browser, and are great for lists.
At 3110 entries that would be a long file.

You said its a 2-part list.
Do you have 2 lists of 1555 entries each?
Or are there 2 lists of 3110 entries?
Looks like a great reference you've built
and you are willing to share it.

Drop me an email if you want to try the Excel route.
Hope this helps.

Princess Bride
I was thinking about that earlier topic, about how sometimes novels or other medium describe scenes of bondage that don't end up happening (ie. Pirates of the Carribean, the Rocketeer).

Well I was watching "the Princess Bride" last night on AMC, and I remember reading the original William Goldman novel on the which the film was based in my local library. And if I remember correctly (and when it comes to bondage, I usually do), Buttercup was gagged, as well as being blindfolded and bound, during Wesley's confrontation with Vizzini.

Also, I believe her ankles were bound initally as well, with the ropes removed when they needed to scale "the Cliffs of Insanity." You can read the book to correct me, if I'm wrong.

From a coincidental(?) post in the forum at Rob's Damsels, it looks as if this is an alternative title for "Resort to Murder", which is in the IMDb.

There are two novels called "Resort to Murder", one British and one American. The British one, like the mini-series, is set in Brighton.

Presumably, the alternative title was intended to avoid confusion with the American book. Odd, though, that the BBC aired it under that title, whereas it is evidently known elsewhere, including the IMDb, by its original name.

I did it a different way before this Raffish posted the better way. I would play the clip from you tube, then copy my "temporary internet folder" to another location. I would then move out files that were named "get_video" and *.flv". Caution. To view all files in the internet cache, you need to copy the folder. View the cache through the internet options will not show all of your files and pages that you have recently viewed.

Hey guys and girls..things seem to be plodding along here and I'm sure that the recent tragedy in this community has something to do with it. And to The Moderator I apologize for being out of line..to not even get a "Post Deleted" was bad so I do apologize.

Anyway perhaps we need to rekindle old surveys...there are many new names here who may not have been around when those old horses were beaten to death.

What would your Holy Grail be? And a Holy Grail, as has been defined here, is a scene that was either done live and perhaps not put to celluloid..or just one that for whatever reason will probably never be re-aired.

I have one..the commercial for the "Spies a'Poppin'" game in which a very, very attractive blonde model was bound to a chair while the announcer, and I remember this fairly distinctly (if anything can be remembered distinctly after 30 years) saying "..beautiful blonde..tied to a chair...."

Part of the problem with YouTube is that the default resolution is (I think) 480x360, so if the original clips were made at the more common size of ~320x240, they'll be scaled up and won't look so hot. And of course, a lot of those scenes are just plain rare and were clipped from VHS copies that probably didn't look so good to begin with. In general, though, I've had pretty good luck with downloading and resizing YouTube stuff.

Re Scene 10 -"An Unusual Way to Die" is i think the episode title rather the series proper. I've been wracking my brains over this one myself since i stumbled on a recording i made of the scene. (Sadly it must have been a case of me realising something was about to come up and hitting record because i don't have any titles)

I'm convinced it's an ITV show but there are no ad breaks in my recording suggesting otherwise. My suspicion is that it's an episode of Rebus, the original John Hannah version but i can't be sure.

Hmm...actually, MC suggested "B.O.R.N." as a match for scene 5. I'm leaning toward that ID, since the DB entry mentions that it's a short scene and features only one DiD (though three are kidnapped), while scene 2 has three DiDs and runs pretty long.

Weird about "An Unusual Way To Die." It does make more sense that it would be an ep title rather than a series title, since it's not in the IMDb, but a Google search for that phrase turns up absolutely nothing relevant.

I've got a clip of this, which I grabbed off PantyDidCap's DVD #1. Unfortunately, the folks there asked me a few weeks ago not to post scenes from those discs, and I feel obliged to respect their wishes (though I'm reserving the right to toss it up in my member area at some point). This sounds very much like the plot of "B.O.R.N". One of the kidnapped damsels is black; all three are the adopted daughters of the hero, and older man. "B.O.R.N." stands fpr "Body Organ Replacement Network".
After watching the movie a second or third time, I noted that one of the scenes was filmed in front of my first dorm at USC.

I just found this film listed at critcononline.com. You have to go to "Films on the Fringe." It is listed under that category. The person who runs the page indicates that he can produce a DVD-R with most of the films listed on his site. It might be worth a try to get it from him. Good luck.

How the hell did I get *this* old without knowing what a "camion" is?

Huh? What? Oh, *the scene*. Sorry, doesn't ring any bells. :-}

Camion: camion; truck; drav; lorry.
Obviously, the dictionary is wrong.

Re: Holy Grails
Mine's definitely Shirley Holmes, "The Case Of Blazing Star". I consider this my ONLY grail, the reason being that there's about a 90-95% chance I will NEVER see this scene in clip format. I know many others some might be quick to tag with "Grail" status, but there's usually hope for these scenes - especially with eDonkey2000 and the like.

Although "camion" is an unusual word, your request was well written and easy to understand. I wish I could help. :-)
