Not to get all PC or anything, but there's something more than a little creepy and misogynistic about it, given that the band/abductors are presumably supposed to be sympathetic characters. Same thing could be said of the Shooting Blanks video as well, I suppose, but this one really rubs one's nose in it. |

Four good-looking girls spend the duration of the video bound and gagged, and when the band finishes playing, they make no move to free the captives, and simply walk away and leave them bound and gagged. The looks on the girls' faces as they are watching the band walk away is priceless! |

| This may not be 100% "On topic", but I thought I would share it. If the Mod wants to delete it, I perfectly understand. It kinda falls into an odd category...
Last week I had a strange, vivid dream: In the dream, I was watching "Days of Our Lives", and the soap was doing a storyline where Japanese "Yakuza" gangsters were trying to take over Salem (The fictional city where the soap takes place). As part of their fiendish plan, they send out teams of ninja, who, in a sequence very similar to the classic "Haunted Star" storyline on General Hospital, kidnap every single female cast member, one by one, hand-gagging them and dragging them wide-eyed off into the shadows. The dumb males heroes search around for the missing women, to no avail. Bo Brady looks into the camera with a stern expression and gives a long speach about how he will find Hope, no matter what it takes... The scene then cuts to a warehouse, where I see the entire female cast dressed in silk kimonos of different bright colors (Hope's was red and gold, Kate's red and black, Mimi's was black, Stephanie Cameron's was white), bound with elaborate Japanese-style ropework and gagged with Japanese checkered scarves tied over their nose and mouth (and white silk cleaves under that). Hope stoicly glares at her captors,not making a sound. Mimi makes muffled pleas ("Let me talk, please!") while desperatly trying to lose her gag by rubbing her cheek on her shoulder, and Kate and Sammi trash around making angry muffled curses. All of the captives grow silent as one of the goons pulls out a samurai sword and begins to wave it threatingly near Hope, and the scene ended with a close-up of her brave but frightened eyes. And that was it. I'm sure there was more to it that I can't remember. You know you are obssessed with this stuff when you don't have dreams about tying up a woman, but you have dreams about watching it on TV. Pathetic, I know, but you have to admit that would have been the ultimate soap scene of all time if it was real. |

| Blade scored with 2 scenes the other night. Since nobody mentioned them, I will.
In the opening, we see an unknown waitress tied hands in front gagged with a bandanna. She's pulled from the trunk of a car & put in the back of a truck. Later, after a vampire gets out of 1 side of a coffin, he opens the other side to reveal the waitress bound hands in front still but not gagged. The 2nd comes much later in the show. A very pregnant woman is single cuffed to a hospital bed. Blade rescues her by cutting the cuff with his sword. But in the coming attractions, the same pregnant woman is single cuff by Blade! Save your VCR, DVR & TiVo people. Windfall will be a bust. Coming attractions show the "dead", supposedly kidnapped woman alive & free. One Life to Live is also a bust with Jess. She was kidnapped, but it was by her ex trying to win her back. No scene what so ever. |
