Friday May 26 04:56:38 2006 Did by women |
I love the movies that include did scenes, and them directors and/or screenplay writers are women. I've the sensation still women that they appreciate our pleasure. Some examples: Killing Words (director: Laura Mana), Romance (Dir.:Catherine Breillat), La Notte Breve (co-directeur.Camilla Costanzo).....
Anybody know/remember others ? P.S. Sorry for my very bad english. |

I bought a trilogy of Blonde comic books many years ago, during the early 1990s. It seemed, to my utter delectation, that there were women bound and gagged in nearly every panel, with the predominant dialogue being, "Mmmmph!", or some variation thereof. It seemed as though every female that the Blonde came into contact with wound up bound and gagged. This observation begs a question; nearly every female character that the Blonde came into contact with wound up bound and gagged, but it seems that she came into contact exclusively with female characters. She inhabits a universe seemingly devoid of men. Women hold all the jobs in this universe, including the ones typically held by men, namely prison guard and police officer. The only male character I recall is a small boy, a spoiled brat, who incapacitates her and then binds and gags her. Does Franco Saudelli have an explanation for the dearth or nearly total absence of men in the Blonde's environment? |

---- "The Boogeyman" (1980), where Suzanna Love was not only the DiD w/ the 2-piece gag, but also one of the co-authors. And in the realm of TV-movies, undoubtedly a number of the Lifetime/Lifetime Movie Network/Oxygen produced original made-for-TV movies were either directed or written by women. |

Friday May 26 12:54:11 2006 Re: Lost |
With all this talk of Lost, I am looking for a scene I saw on the show once but can't seem to locate in the scene database. I don't watch the show regularly, so I don't know exactly what was happening, but what I saw was some woman (don't know who it was, but she is brunette) in a cave or some underground place with a guy and some bad guy. The bad guy starts to tie up the other man, and he talks him out of it, saying the girl should be tied up instead because she's a criminal or something to that effect. The baddie agrees, and ties her instead. Could someone tell me the title of this episode. If it's on DVD I'd like to rent it.
Thx. |

This was before the days of VCRs, cable TV, and infommercials when they'd show these foreign horror movies on late-night TV. I stayed up late a couple of times to catch this movie. Years later, I purchased this movie on VHS for something like $80. Now, it's out on DVD for 1/5th the cost and probably better quality. |

No movies on ours, just annoying Debbie Travis and Candice Olsen decorating, make-over, or wedding planning ones. Nothing in Friday's episode. Just some pushing and shoving for Katie, no handgags either.
The soap has recast the role of Lucy Montgomery, formerly played by Peyton List. Spencer Grammer (daughter of Kelsey) starts next week. She's 22 and pretty hot. This soap already has Michael Landon's daughter as a regular. |

Hadji wrote:

Obviously, master Franco is fond of Nutrix (Stanton, Bilbrew, Ruiz, Jim...) and master Willie's art. The Blonde series is partly dedicated to those artists. Many scenes, especially in the first episode, are paying tribute to Jim and Willie. For instance, on the top of board#21, one can see D'Arcy and the Countessa as silhouettes in the street... |

Episode 2 in fact, I know because the episode only aired on UK TV earlier this month in a double bill with the season premiere. I'd known about the scene of course but hadn't realised it appeared so early inthe season, it was a pleasant surprise and i particularly enjoyed the way Terry O'quinn's charector turned around what threatened to be a frustrating and dissapointing Putz scene for us. |
Friday May 26 18:31:30 2006 Angels and Demons |
Hi
Please forgive the slight sketchiness of my memories but it's been a while since I read the book. It's basically the exact same set up as 'The Da Vinvi Code'. Robert Langdon looks in the mirror and thinks 'Hmmmmm - I look a bit like Harrison Ford' (obviously reprints will say 'Hmmmm - I look a bit like Tom Hanks') - then he finds out there's been a terrible moidah! So off he goes to find out why a famous code breaky guy has been murdered and Holy Bejaysus the dead man has a drop dead gorgeous daughter from Europe (Italy not France). They go to Vatican City being pursued by a ruthless religiously fanatical killer in the employ of a secret society who chases them around as they attempt to decipher clues etc. etc. Oh, and the Vatican Police think that Langdon and Lady are responsible and are after them to. At one point lady gets abducted by the nasty killer and bound (I think in a hogtie) and tape gagged and carried off to his lair for some nasty fun! Torture I think! It turns out well and we find out the dreaded secret that has plagued Christianity is - I'm not being 100% fair - it's a pot boiler but actually much more engaging than the DaMented Code. The bondage scene is brief and not really described very well but by the same token isn't awful. |

On my copy, you can clearly see the individual droplets of water on Samantha Eggar's outstretched leg in the bathroom scene. The colors are rich and well-saturated. It's a FAR better transfer than most B-movies of that era have had. |

Searching with title set to: lost Record number: 11678 Title: Lost Medium: TV Series Actress: Evangeline Lilly Description: Episode: "Adrift" (2.2) Evangeline has her wrists tied behind her with a computer power cord and is pushed onto the floor in a closet, and she is locked in. She manages to get her hands around her legs and free herself by holding a knife between her knees and cut through the rope with a knife. Dark scene unfortunately, but lasts a minute long and the struggling is excellent. |

If the scene had 101 putzes in it,it would still be worth it to see Evangeline Lily get the treatment. Heck, if her co-star Michelle Rodriguez was doing the tying, I would gladly sign up to BE one of the putzes. |

Im not saying the quality was bad, but compared to other films on DVD that were from the same era, the quality could be better. Also the DVD isn't the uncut verion, scenes on the DVD were edited because *gasp* there was full-frontal nudity, but they are included on the video. Plus if they do make a new DVD release, they may have some better extras. A commentary including Terence Stamp would be real cool. |

Friday May 26 22:34:17 2006 "HEX" on BBC America? |
This BBC series is going to start airing on BBC America on Thursday, June 8, 10PM ET/PT. Here's an excerpt from the episode 1 blurb at the BBC America web site:
"Azazeal kidnaps Thelma in a bid to get to the one human sacrifice he's really concerned with, Cassie. But when Cassie confronts him and demands to see her friend, it's Thelma who pays the ultimate price." Cassie is played by Christina Cole, Thelma by Jemima Rooper, & Azazeal by Michael Fassbender. So... have any of our Brit brethren & sistern seen "Hex"? Here's the BBC America URL: http://www.bbcamerica.com/genre/drama_mysteries/hex/hex.jsp |
