Possible West Coast Alert?
Don't know if same David Letterman show airing in United States as here,
but had a clip from the Bettie Page film.
Appeared a no-gagger, but humourous

Can clip it for interested over on Trades Page ===>

Thanks for posting a picture of the cover, Brian! This caused many pleasant memories to resurface. Do you recall whether the scene depicted on the cover actually does occur in the book, or was the cover merely a ploy to induce randy, undersexed adolescents with acne-ridden faces to buy the book? Is there a damsel bound and gagged in the book? I wonder whether the damsel bound and gagged on the cover is a human female or a mermaid?

My local paper had a review yesterday that sounded promising, for bondage if not the movie itself (gave it 2 out of 4 stars).
In describing the plot, the reviewer said "Page quickly moves from posing in dominatrix-chic to performing in quickie bondage flicks shot over the course of frolicsome weekend retreats".
The review later refers to the movie as "a series of ploddingly, if lovingly, stage tableaux".
It gives me the impression that the movie is an episodic biopic that will spend a lot of time reproducing moments from her career. So I agree with Mark that there will be several scenes each of her giving and receiving bondage.
From what we'veread, the movie was well-researched, and as such, we can figure they wouldn't omit the famous jungle girl/ball gag scene.

Incidently, the reviewer didn't think much of Gretchen Mol as Ms. Page (too shallow a performer), or the movie as a whole in delving beyond the surface. If the reviews are like that on the whole, maybe that will rekindle Scorcese's interest in doing an in-depth look, and won't forget to have it star Liv Tyler (a glossy stare enters LV's eyes).

What a blast from the past! The cover showing the young bound lady being presented to a rich merchant was reproduced in a book on science fiction I was given for Christmas when I was about 10. I know the debate's been on this site before, but that image is one of those from the start of my 'awakening' to DIDs, beaten only by the thrill of seeing Daphne tied up in the Scooby ep "Which Witch is which".

Good save. To cc, if you don't explain what your clip
is about, your message will be deleted. That's because
I don't have time to check every one out for topicality.

The Notorious Bettie Page
Both "Entertainment Weekly" (B+ in the Apr 21, 2006) and 'Ebert and Roeper' (saturday 15 Apr 2006) really liked it.

Whether or not it delivers any good DID scenes, it definitely sounds like something worth seeing.

Question for the Moderator
Just wondering, is discussion of coverage of 'Bondage Intensive Fetish' events appropriate for this site ?

ie discussion of the purported documentary about Fetishcon 2005, or the various websites devoted to such events.

The lady with the grey gagged was the found dead in the van at the beginning of Mondays airing. The tape was only dangling off her cheek. The two gals with the black tape occured an hour later in the back of another van.

A reporter is gagged with black tape at about 10:30 in Tuesdays episode while laying on top of her brother in his casket. Then about 10-15 min. after that, we see detectives recall the murders and we see fast clips of ladies. This is when we see the lady that was killed at the start of Monday's airing. She is fully gagged and struggling and only last several seconds.

Hope this helps.

The review in Friday's New York Times was quite positive, while the USA Today reviewer (same day) seemed to have seen a different film.

Best scene never scene
What is the best scene you guys hae heard about but never scene.

For me, it's the Regina Russell scene in baberellas

Apparently is tied and cleave-gagged with white cloth and she doesn't want the cop to take the gag off but he does.

She then says "I have the right to remain slient".

Please note: I am not looking for the scene so do not move this but just curious as to what the group thinks.
