Re: Congrats and Bones
Happy Anniversary Brian!

Bones scene was pretty good tonight but on Veronica Mars, her and a pizza delivery man caught a mugger in the act as Veronica zapped him.

Before they left, he was ducttapped and gagged to a pole.

I think this is the third time ms. bell has gagged someone (Reefer Madness, meg in earlier episode)

If only she would get a gag.

Bones / Anniversary
Congrats on another year. Think about how many things have changed in nine years, and you're still around. We all appreciate this forum and enjoy the discussions. Hope you are many years away from thoughts of retirement.

Now for the Bones scene, I thought it was pretty "kick ass" to use a pun. She was stomping his butt with her hands tied behind and at one point tried to pick up the gun with her bound hands. IMHO that was the better part, the AOH scene didn't provide much action or distress before the good guys came barging in. Her rescuer didn't untie her right away and there was a nice shot of her still bound hands around his neck. I'm not a fan of hands tied in front scenes, but overall not bad.
Highly anticipated, surprised to see lack of discussion/detail about it.

Not trying to be hyperbolic, but I think it was an all-time classic.

Plenty of action, plus legitimate panic by the actress while gagged with arms tied above head.

I thought the scene was excellent, just that Emily does nothing for me as a damsel. I think she's gorgeous and like that scratchy voice, but not all gorgeous damsels work for everyone. If all network scenes were like this, we wouldn't have many complaints.

Kidding aside, I'll be throwing the bones scene up on my server later tonight.
If you're on the daily list, check where the other stuff is, if you're not, email me and I'll send you a link.
My cap is pretty decent quality, but I'll probably have something better shortly.

C'mon, Van, of course it was a dud: no nudity! No vibrators! Not even any tickling! Didn't even fondle her feet! And did you notice, it was the perfect opportunity for some wrist-ankle bondage with a head harness, but NOOOOOO.....

On another note, AOL and some others are teaming up on TV2go, which lets broadband users download entire episodes of old series. There are some FBI, Lois and Clark and Wonder Woman eps among others. I haven't matched episode titles to the database yet, but it is likely that at least some classics are available.

If you're making a snide reference to what goes on at (the Award Winning) VAN's FiCTiON &/or DAMSELS UNDER GLASS, not even *I'm* demented enough to expect Fox to indulge all of my fantasies. (*I* would have had Bones *&* Angela (Michaela Conlin) B&G side-by-side in the House of Gord warehouse, changed the peril from being-devoured-by-dogs to slow-death-by-orgasm, & given the villain an hour to get the damsels stripped, clamped/strapped/restrained in Gord Devices, warmed up... & *then* have the cavalry arrive.)

Seriously, it was an excellent scene. Good bondage, good setup, good action, & it all made sense (within the conventions of the show). Capture, gloating/exposition, attempted escape/recapture, final peril, & rescue were all handled as elements of the story, with appropriate pacing, dialogue, interaction between characters, etc.

Granted, it was brief, but it *is* an hour show, & as action series plot resolution DiD-scenes go, it was as good as I've seen it done. Also, I *like* Emily Deschanel, so the celeb-factor added spice to the recipe. :-)

I give "Bones (Two Bodies in the Lab)" two thumbcuffs up.

Face it, people---this was an *actual* *classic* *DiD-scene*; not a scene-with-bondage-we-can-accept, like most of them. Let's give credit where credit's due, save the tape, & move on. :-)

All wrapped up
Does anyone out there recall any scenes other than the following that feature damsels wrapped from head to toe in tape like mummies? Other than those currently listed in the database that is. The scenes from Penelope Pitstop, Totally spies and the one from an old and obscure British tv show from 1969 called "Virgin of the secret service". The description for this last one in the database suggests the person who placed it there remembers it quite clearly, and I myself remember seeing long ago a photo of the scene with hero and heroine tightly wrapped, but so far I've been unable to find it anywhere on the net.

Bones question
I found this synopsis at the Fox website:

"Kenton hog-ties Brennan and opens a knife, then chips a portion of the blade to mirror the wounds from the other victims."

She didn't get hog-tied, did she? If not, wonder if it was a misinterpretation of how she was tied, or if they changed the position before filming.

CSI: Miami:
Didn't find any posts on this so far, but the preview for next week's ep of CSI: Miami, "Driven" showed a quick scene of a DiD tape-gagged, her head laying on a tabletop followed by a shot of roped wristshttp://www.cbs.com/cbs_video/insider/video.php?chap=1495
. The shot is very brief and it's hard to tell if she's alive / dead / unconscious.

Link to the preview below.

From the CBS site: (http://www.cbs.com/primetime/csi_miami/)
"Horatio must protect Marisol when her life is threatened after she witnesses a robbery."

From tvguide.com:
"Three masked men rob women at a Coconut Grove day spa, one of whom is shot when she fights back with pepper spray. When Horatio arrives on the scene, he learns that another woman injured in the attack is Marisol. The investigation becomes more urgent when it is discovered that the shooter is now breaking into the women's homes. Later, Horatio and Marisol make a surprising decision."

Bones was *never* hog-tied, in the way *we* would use the term. But some people say "hog-tied" when all they mean is "tied-up real good" or "bound-hand-&-foot". In fact, here's what Bill Gates' Bookshelf has to say on the subject:
-------
hog-tie also hogtie (hôg´tì´, hòg´-) verb, transitive
hogtied, hogtieing or hogtying hogties
1. To tie together the feet or legs of.
2. Informal. To impede or disrupt in movement or action. See synonyms at hamper1.

Anyway, regarding Bones, being tied wrists-behind-back-&-wrists-to-ankles has never happened, not on screen... yet. :-)

Yeah, sorta like when folks use the generic term "bound and gagged" to mean anything from a damsel REALLY tied up & gagged to a gal who gets her hands merely tied behind her
back!

The Notorious Bettie Page
In the April issue of Toronto Life, there's a small article about director Mary Harron and the upcoming "The Notorious Bettie Page." Certainly not worth picking up since there's very little mentioned about the movie and the only photograph is one of Harron, but I was just wondering if anyone has run across any in-depth articles yet, since the movie is set to open in April.

I'm really hoping that as we get closer to the release date, various talk shows and entertainment programs will run features on the movie. I'd love to see a discussion come up on "The View" so we may get a few more clues as to Meredith Viera's secret desires, or maybe a humourous segment where Regis decides to fly solo one morning, as has Kelly Ripa bound and gagged and hidden in a closet.

I can dream, can't I?

It got higher ratings because the gave it a new timeslot, not because producers know the allure of a DiD.

Eva Herzigova fake.
Happy anniversary, Brian!

Blimey, I've been coming here under various guises for nearly 6 years, and it don't seem a day under two. Great site, mate.

About 6 weeks ago, someone asked for a picture of Eva Herzigova to be faked. I replied that I had done one, but it was lost in the great IHOB on Lycos massacre. Thanks to the kind offices of DKenJonze, who sent me copies of most of the oldies, I am now able to display this image again, slightly enhanced.

This image, and a few other "lost 'uns", should appear on my website by the end of this month. Rather busy with other things at the moment.

Ah, yes, one from my long-ago student days.

I'm afraid the scene was almost certainly wiped from ITV's tapes within a year or two, and is thus probably extinct. The only person who will ever see it now is someone with a big radio telescope 30-odd light years away!

It was quite a nice scene, the damsel being seen fully wrapped up to and over her mouth for a few seconds before the final bandages were applied and she was put in a sarcophagus. The bandages, though, were modern crepe rather than Egyptian-style flax or cotton.

Glad to see this cutie taste the cloth. Was hoping the cleve would be a bit thinner, also wish she was dressed in a more feminine manor (skirt, nylons, heels, etc), but then again all women dress like men these days. Still in all not bad scence, give extra points for the look of fear in her eyes and desperate look as that always makes the bondage seem more realistic.

Not the most brilliant of pics in the Radio Times, but here is Welsh actress Eva Myles, who will play Captain Jack's sidekick Gwen in the new BBC adult SF series "Torchwood", derived from "Doctor Who."

This Week's "New Yorker"
A little something of interest in this week's "New Yorker" (the cover features a skinny model slinking down a runway).

On page 118, there is a small, black & white photo of what appears to be a woman bound and cleave gagged. A couple of caveats apply: 1) The photo is deliberately murky, 2) It's a little hard to tell given the dim lighting, but the woman appears to be sporting a bruise on her cheek (personally, I find battered women, even in a staged photograph, to be sad, not sexy), and 3) We're not exactly talking Catherine Zeta Jones here. She seems to be slightly above average in appearance.

If you are still interested, the photo serves an as illustration for a short story entitled "Gleason" by Louise Erdrich. i haven't read it as yet, but aparently it involves a kidnapping of some sort.

By the way, congrats, Brian, on providing such an outstanding forum for our unique interest.

Ah, I just figured it out. I just tried again. The entire page was full of listings for Special Victim's Unit. I failed to see the little "click here to see the next 200 matches on the next page" link! I'm so used to my searches not taking up more than one page I didn't think that it might extend to another page! Gee I feel dumb now! :-)

Megan Mullaly ad on Nickelodeon
Caught an ad on the Nick TV channel tonight while my kids were watching "Full House". Ad for TV Land Awards coming March 22 was a Batman spoof and showed Megan Mullaly (of Will & Grace fame) sitting in a chair in the back yard with her wrists tied to the chair arms. She says "I've put myself in this predicament......." and I didn't catch the reason.

They cut away to an ad for the awards show then come back to her in the chair. She mentions something about a bat signal then in a comic turn lifts her left arm up off the chair arm and takes a drink from a cup. That was it.

Apparently being tied or gagged is having a resurgence in commercials lately. It's a cute promo. Sorry I didn't get more detail but I tend to tune out Nick and I wasn't paying attention until she mentioned being "put in this predicament". Ad begins showing the front of a house with some Batman-type music.
Couldn't find it on the TV Land site.

Happy Anniversary
Brian, what with your great site's anniversary being yesterday and St. Patricks Day being tomorrow, this old Irishman would like to raise a toast to your wonderful Page and wish it many, many more years of success!

I've been coming here for many of those 9 years and this place and it's wonderful variety of resident's have become comfortable old friends. This is usually both the first and last place I visit on any given day, and most of the time there are several trips during the middle of that day too, lol~!

So way to go, a deeply felt wish for many, many more anniversarys, and thank you for putting up with us all~!

Correct! She is "tied" for the record of 11 B&G scenes with fellow Lois Lane, Noel Neill.

It is, quite simply, one of the very best websites on the internet. Thank you Brian R and everyone else. I love being part of this community.

Your correct genius. She was dressed up - after the bondage scene, NOT DURING THE BONDAGE SCENE AS I STATED EARLIER.

re: Jamal myers
She was wearing a dress but not wearing nylons. In my opinion this is not being dressed up.
