Monday April 12 00:04:50 2004 more Ella Enchanted scene details |
I checked out another "parents' movie review site", kids-in-mind.com . Their comments on Ella Enchanted:
- Three ogres surround a woman and an elf and threaten to eat them, they pull a knife, and the woman is tied and dangled over a pot of boiling water. - A young woman chains herself to a tree. Screenit.com mentioned that the woman who is tied and dangled is Ella herself. But I don't know if the young woman who chains herself to a tree is also Ella, or someone else. See, ScreenIt doesn't consider tying oneself up to be "violence" or "frightening scenes", as it all comes down to a simple matter of semantics. What's more, Kids-In-Mind is more lax on what they consider "violence" and yet they try to hide character names; ScreenIt has a stricter definition of such, but they reveal what happens to individual characters. So you kinda have to do a "meta-search" of these review sites to get the whole picture. Anyway, this just confirms that there's a bit more in the movie than I originally knew. |

But I don't know if the young > woman who chains herself to a tree is also Ella, or > someone else. It is "Ella" (Anne Hathaway). Clips of that scene are in the "special" called "The Magical World of Ella Enchanted" that's been airing on various cable channels for the past few weeks. It also has a clip of "Ella", with her hands tied in front, being thrown from a horse and one with her holding her hands out so they can be manacled. Also several clips of the tree hanging scene. One behind the scenes shot shows Anne hanging there giggling. |

I read the review wrong. It mentioned a "typical cliffhanger" involving the hot daughter. I took that to mean a finale with a damsel in peril. What it really meant was the daughter is mixed up with a guy whose a hidden terrorist and she doesn't know it, even as the movie ends. Since this was a pilot, they would have picked up at that point in the storyline if episodes were shot, which they weren't. |

Our friend Rob asked if I'd be interested in hosting his clip from this movie, and I said, "Sure." Check it out now on the DiDheap.
I see that this one isn't in the DB, so off to do something about that... |

I was straightening the new releases at work last night and the back of a cover showed a blurred image that might have been a B&G'd woman. I think I can see the gag, so I'll check it out later today, and update everyone tomorrow. |

Somewhere in the middle of editing it, the scene just started to annoy me too much, so I went to work on something else. :/ I'll pick up where I left off, and try to get the caps/clips up within the next day or so. |

... is the title of a new pulp-fiction comic parody. I haven't looked for it in stores yet, but in just three issues, it's already produced several very cute scenes:

The episode ("Spin City") *is* new (I think.) :-) The site has a link to the trailer & a couple of AOH pics of Phoebe & Paige. (Go to the site if the WB's server doesn't allow posting.) |

Looks pretty much like just a circular spray of webbing, but its a closeup. |

Yeah...I'd figured that had to be from the hi-def broadcast, even without the aspect ratio to give it away. You don't get that kind of detail from NTSC on the best of nights. One more reason to talk my housemates into getting a second TiVo for the HDTV set in the back room. ;) |

Monday April 12 23:25:25 2004 DAYS OF OUR LIVES |
Talking about missing the target, what a bummer. I wasn't expecting much but this was worse than nothing. After the way fridays episode ended, at worst I expected an opening where John pulled off the woman's headscarf and revealed a gagged female who looked like Marlena to everyone's gasps and then maybe John ripping of the tape in a quick scene but we didn't even get that. It's almost looks as if they filmed a scene like I described above and then for some reason they decided to cut it. |
