I agree. I kinda wonder why no one else has come up with it. It's such an obvious line to take. I could see the LIfetime Channel snapping up something along these lines rather quickly. I thought of having the main character be an outsourced webmaster, but there hasn't been much talk of outsourcing webmasters, and besides, the skill set for webmastering is a lot broader than the skill set for coding. I've read numerous complaints from ex-programmers on the Web that all their college training goes out the window very quickly and isn't easily converted to another line of work. Hence, they're very credible fodder for a story of someone who goes from coder to bondage model/prostitute/stripper in one leap. |

Thursday May 27 08:31:03 2004 Lots of old movies on one DVD |
I happened to be in Media Play and saw a rack of cheap DVD's where each DVD contained four or five old movies. These were the cheesy B and C grade horror movies that have been made over the years. So anyone with some time should take a look and see if any of them have some prospects. |

If the server wouldn't let you see it on first try either: Go to the main site (URL below); click on "News" (under "Film & TV"); gescrollen und geclicken aus 18.05.04; look for the third article ("Das Phantom der Oper: Neue Bilder von Joel Schumachers Verfilmung"); und click. It's worth the effort. |

I think I may spend the $20 for this one. Chasing it down or waiting for it to appear in a video store might be fruitless. The the poster on the Amazon link. Yes, that's the movie. |
Thursday May 27 13:32:13 2004 Indie fun |
For those whose taste runs to superheroines, the independent (but mainstream) New Phoenix Filmworks has a couple of "RetroGirl" videos that are a veritable festival of bondage. You can learn more at http://www.newphx.com. |

Thursday May 27 17:54:59 2004 99.9 |
Hi. Has anyone actually seen 99.9? How good, and how long is the scene(s) in it? Can't find any place renting it, so would have to buy it. Worth the money? The database is inconclusive. Thank you |
Thursday May 27 18:13:08 2004 William Moulton Marston |
In an article on Wonder Woman and the psychology theories of her creator, William Moulton Marston, "Wonder Woman and her Disciplinary Powers" by Molly Rhodes, she mentioned that he also coauthored a 1930 book called "The art of Sound Pictures" in which he 'explicitly discusses the production of both normal emotion and bondage scenes with empirical research presented on the galvanic responses of subjects who were shown particular film images while wired to polygraph machinery.' Has anyone ever seen this book? |

But the reason I don't like this pic is because, while the girls do indeed have cool looking chains around their wrists, the point is they are still free to move around, and with chains that long, an escape would be rather easy...plus the long chains would make a great strangling weapon. I.O.W., a girl ain't bound unless she can't get away. Anything else is just a prop. |

Thursday May 27 19:03:40 2004 Las Vegas picked up for second season |
Hey
I read the other day that NBC and decided to pick up Las Vegas for another season. It was also noted that LV was the only new fall drama on NBC to get a sophmore run. Perhaps we can get another Nikki Cox scene..."on the next Las Vegas, a casino heist goes wrong and Mary(Cox) is taken hostage(shot of Nikki bound and gagged and carried off) Or maybe Vanessa Marcil is next line to get the treatment-although she looked hotter in her GH days). The series has a lot of potential and is not too bad to watch either. Anyways, I just thought I throw this news out to my favorite web community. |

---- You mean like the famed Charlie's Angels ("Angels in Chains") episode? As Kate Jackson laughingly reminiced at a 25th anniversary retrospective documentary, "Angels in Chains" is the one episode that everyone seems to remember. |

Always thought it would be cool to see the girls done up with barbed wire - would make even an attempt at escape almost impossible without serious injury. |

Thursday May 27 20:51:45 2004 Favorite Kung fu B-movies w/ B&g scenes |

Perhaps I'll see if the local West Coast Video has "Eight Diagram Pole Fighter" or "The Five Deadly Venoms" in stock. Come to think of it, "Samurai Jack" is a genuinely "Kung-Fi, Sci-Fu" production -- a pity the genres haven't been mixed more often. After all, the cult-classic "Kung Fu" TV series had that wonderful mix of Western-drifter with a Buddhist philosophy (whom the bad guys sometimes tried to trap with a captive damsel such as Barbara Hershey). |

Uh... it's DANCERS doing a DANCE in the middle of an OPERA. If they can't move around... THEY COAN'T DANCE!!! The Oriental-Slave-Girls-in-Chains bit is a titilating detail (like the scandalously skimpy costumes) meant to entertain the period public. It's no more "bondage" than it is "broccoli farming." ...And you know, the more I look at the pics, the more I think the cute little blonde in chains might not be the same actress as the one playing Christine. She might be a *real* chorus girl. :-) |

If you're buying for a good flick, they're both highly recommended. If you only want for the DiD scene, skip the Venoms. Both are readily available in DVD or VHS on eBay at pretty cheap prices. I got both on DVD for well under $10 each. Probably bootlegs, but quality is good. |

Maybe that's because of the dreaded Inframan that I threatened to talk about yesterday. This is a cult classic that goes beyond MST3K territory. Think of a giant lobster swinging its arms kung-fu style. It has a brief DiD scene where the heroine is tied up (with a putz) in typical Chinese style with ropes around the arms and body. She is regaled with a rather clumsy oversized stuff gag that hasn't the slightest bit of effectiveness, visually or sonically. The bondage is as inept as every other facet of this film. Again, don't buy only for the bondage. |
