Trading Spaces Pic?

In the TV Guide for April 3-10, in a little box on page 223, is what looks like a promo pic for TLC's "Trading Spaces." It shows Hildi Santo-Thomas and some guy tied back to back w/rope. Is this available on a website? Anybody know?

I finally caught that metroPCS cellphone service ad at the end of the Giants-Padres game tonight ... details are in the DB entry. I should have it capped in the next couple of days.

80s Legend of Zelda cartoon screencaps
Normally there's another message board dedicated to cartoons that I'd share this with instead, but they've been down for a while. So thinking there might be some cartoon fans here, I thought I'd bring this up.

You can watch episodes of the old Legend of Zelda cartoon from the 80s at Yahooligans. In fact, it's up at http://tv.yahooligans.yahoo.com/ . Anyway, I went there and relived my childhood, quickly realized that adventure cartooons were cornier than I remembered ("Excuuuuuuse me, Princess!"), but I managed to take a ton of caps from 3 episodes. Get ready to see Zelda shackled, mummified, and tied.

The gorgeous Kathy Ireland in Gridlock. Despite full treatment with a nice tape gag, the scene didn't do much for me because she just sat there and did absolutely no struggling or mmphing.

No question, my most "peeved" scene has to be Lucy Lawless finally getting gagged on Xena, and yet she's so unattractive, making the nastiest sounds imaginable, that the scene is all but unwatchable.

Missed the Target: Poorly staged B&g scenes
> The following full treatment scenes are my pet peeves because the quality/beauty of the damsels was so high, and the bondage or camera-work of the scene was so lame that these COULD have been classics but come off as unsatisfying.

5. Leslie Bibb, The Big Easy
-----
I don't think Bibb's "End of the World" episode was bad at all: Onscreen gagging, sweet mmphing, and several closeup shots. Also, a (non-gag) escape & recapture sequence.

My nomination would be the Vegas (1978) "Lost Women" episode, on which there was a Discussion thread a number of months ago. To sum up, the effort & expense was made to hire a dozen extras to portray Las Vegas showgirls in Pool party attire: all for a 2 - 3 seconds pan shot (in the era before inexpensive VCRs) of them peacefully dozing. No mmphing, no struggling, no closeups of their different reactions to their situation -- which meant that not much sense of peril was conveyed to the audience.

For a B&g scene involving one damsel, one that comes to mind would be Patricia Manterola's Angeles ("Fantasmas En El Atardecer"). Camera angle was at long distance only, and under dark lighting.

This scene from Third Watch is one of the worst. The damsel is almost naked -- probably wearing underwear -- and she's bound in a fairly extreme position -- arms overhead, feet probably tied together, and is that a strap around her waist? But the scene is so underlit you can't really tell WHAT the hell is going on. The shot on left below is the way the scene came off my vidcapping software at normal settings, the shot on the right has been worked with Photoshop to bring up as much detail as possible. It's blurry because in extremely dark shots, my software tends to create little clumps of shadow.

Sucks, sucks, sucks in any event. It looks like the damsel had a nice rack on her. It's a shame to make her spend time all tied up and half-naked like that and, for all effects, not to show her.

Missing the Target
One of my great recent disappointments is:

Record number: 8983

Title: Stargate SG-1
Medium: TV Series
Actress: Amanda Tapping

Description: Episode: "Forsaken" (6.18)

Late in the episode Major Carter (Amanda) is stunned by the bad guys & later gets planted in the middle of a clearing, ankles cable-tied together, wrists cable-tied behind her back, & a strip of black tape over her lips. Our view of all this is *very* marginal, little more than a brief longshot through Colonel O'Neil's monocular. Yup, that's right; Sam's being used as bait! Before it aired, an *outstanding* publicity still from the episode of a B&G'd Amanda appeared in X-posé magazine (Issue #75.) The pic is an order of magnitude better than *anything* shown in the episode itself. {Sigh}
-------

It didn't *have* to be that way.

Teal'c: "O'Neil... O'Neil... Should we not rescue Major Carter?"

O'Neil (rummaging in pack & swapping monocular for high-powered binoculars): "Cool yer Jets. Bad guys may be lurking. We wait 'til night..." (Watches as Sam continues writhing & struggling against her bonds in the dirt.) "...or until the light fades."

Teal'c: "O'Neil."

O'Neil: "Go guard the flanks or something. I'm busy."

Teal'c (gathering staff weapon & departing): "Indeed."

help identify sci-fi movie
This guy is sent back in time or something
like that and gets sent into this city
where he sees this blond woman running
away from some gangsters trying to capture
and attack her.
There's a scene in a alley-way where
they're groping her in a dress which he
breaks up.
There's also a scene where this woman is
given pills and told she's gotta be a ho
to this fat cop comes into the hotel room
and tells her to dress up in some outfit
in a picture and she escapes.
There's lots of tied up scenes, gratuitous
groping, etc.
I've been trying to track this down for
a while.
Any ideas on what it might be?

Not only nothing, but Elisha was only in 1 10-minute segment and that's it. She appeared about 10 minutes in in one sketch and wasn't seen again.

My top two would be the dynamic duo from "Silk Stalkings," Mitzi Kapture and Janet Gunn, my favorite female detectives of all time. Mitzi in the "Silk" episode where she's shown tape-gagged for just 2 seconds in the back seat of the car, and Janet sporting a bandana cleave-gag in a "Dark Justice" episode in a dark alley. The Janet scene lasted a minute or so but no closeups and scene was poorly lit.

Others would include Brooke Shields ("Seventh Floor) with lousy camerawork and Patty Manterola ("Angeles") also with lousy camerawork, with the camera 20 feet away while Patty struggled to free herself from a chair-tie and tape-gag.

Sounds like an episode from the "Timecop" TV series, with Cristi Conaway as his blonde partner. But perhaps not, since such a "Timecop" scene isn't listed in the Scene Database.

NBC movie
Just read a review of the NBC movie tonight called "Homeland Security." Review mentioned a typical cliffhanger ending involving lead good guy's daughter mixed up with some terrorists. This was a 2-hour pilot for a series that wasn't picked up. Might lead to something.

And compounding the frustration with the scene is that it didn't make any storyline sense (following "Van's First Rule") for Rita's gag to have been taken off. Since the showdown took place in a public place (in a park at night), it'd have only made sense to eliminate the possibility of her shouting something of use to her partner.

And "Charlie" not only was a high-IQ criminal (who'd openly defied police attempts to gather physical evidence against him), but he'd also pummelled his last victim into a hospital -- so he certainly wouldn't have been concerned about the comfort of a policewoman who'd been pursuing him.

Wow. You guys knocked off my daily bandwidth limit at Brinkster and it's only noon.

A reminder, Saturday at noon and the like are not network

it's unlikely to be generally true.

The best way to post such an alert is to give your local
station as channel and instruct the others to check their
local listings.

This sounds vaguely like a Skinamax "erotic thriller" film I saw a year or two ago on cable except that it wasn't time travel, it was virtual reality. There was a scene in a bordello, and as you said, lots of gratuitous stuff. But I don't recall the title.

west coast alert for Real World scene
Damn! I just cuaght a great scene on the 2 p.m. (EST) ep of "the Real World on MTV. Showed a hysterical woman being forced to bungee jump off a platform with her hands cuffed behind her back. Lots of screaming and crying before she jumped, then we see her working her cuffs to get free while she's dangling in midair.

And here I thought reality TV was gonna be a total waste.

The show had one scene at the end but advertised another chapter at the same time next week including more than one bondage scene with at least one definite tight cleave.

Thanks. I may not have missed as much as I thought. I kept seeing women get handgagged, but the only time I saw a woman actually tied is when a guy came upon some chainlink and saw her suspended from the ceiling at the end.

Forum searching
I fixed the problem that was brought to my attention (thanks Jay) where the search for forum messages was getting too many hits. It should be working properly now.

Reminder of how it's supposed to go:

To use the search feature, enter the string (exact matches, not keywords). Indicate whether you want to find it in the Title, the text of the message (this includes name, email, etc.) or both. Also, choose whether you will be searching from today forward (really only works for VCR Alerts) or back.

And this show is on when? And where (channel)? I assume it's a Spanish show on either Univision, Galavision, or Telemundo. I don't remember seeing any alert for it or see it mentioned on Discussion. I"d like to catch the upcoming scene if possible. Thanx.

Alert was on this page about a week and a half ago; it read:

"Saw promo again, definite two white cleave gag scenes, 2 with dark haired girl(s), one other handgag, show is April 10th at 7pm EST on Telemundo, seems to be called "Historias y testigos" but promo also said "La Muerte". Perhaps one is an episode title; kind of looks like a "Traffic" type show, a needle was shown with gagged girl. Promo ran twice tonight."

Yes, it's a rerun from February. As far as I can tell, she's never tied, though there's a scene or two where she's sitting in a chair with her hands on its arms. Similarly, while she's dragged into a van during her abduction, there's no handgag or anything else database-able. Yet another missed opportunity for this show...
