Wednesday March 09 00:35:38 2005 Blind Justice Premiere |
While everyone understandably catching the Law and Order SVU scene, I figured I would check out the Blind Justice premiere. The pilot episode plotline focused on the usual serial killer of prostitutes blather, but only two slain victims were shown.
The first one was found in a warehouse flat nude and face down with wrists bound behind and ankle bound, no gag that I could make out. The shots were quick and varied from mid-range to close-up. They made a big point to warn about partial nudity at the beginning of the show, which turned out to a floor angle shot of the lady's bare backside. The rope work's OK, and there aren't any grizzly marks on the actresses' frame, but again we are talking about cadaver bondage. The show wasn't bad, though, and the blind cop's female partner is VERY cute. Also, the blind cop's wife is played by Rena Sofer, who has one scene in the database from the film TWINSITTERS, along with the distinction of being the villainess gal who tied up Jamie Luner in the Melrose Place finale. Both the cop's partner and wife could be prime DID candidates down the road, so this one might be worth keeping an eye on. |

There was a picture of the girl bound and gagged to the bed, but that was it and her body was later found. Later in the episode, they find a black woman tied and gagged in a storage container much like the blonde girl, but she's kinda bloody and, well, not attractive at all. Well, not to me anyways. As for Blind Justice, his partner is EXTREMELY cute!!! |

Premise is an artist is kidnapped to help with a counterfeit scheme. Kidnapping takes place early. This has to be the tape-gag scene shown in the promos before the series started. Added to VCR alerts. |

This is well known, right? I tend to agree, and I'm getting rather tired of the badgering tone of the requests. I mean, one minute after someone alerts? "The Moderator" has it under advisement to severely restrict cap/clip requests. I'd suggest self-control in this area would be better for all concerned. |

Wednesday March 09 02:23:34 2005 Re: Law & Order: SVU |
That was a nice early scene, both visually and aurally, but --SPOILER! -- was anyone fooled into believing that the kidnapper was NOT Martin Short? I mean, the voice on the answering machine tape sound exactly like him! When he said later that it was nothing like his own, I laughed out loud.
Plus, whenever a somewhat well-known actor makes a guest appearance on this show (such as Matthew Modine last week), he or she is invariably revealed to be the culpret. Still, just looking at Mariska's chestal area makes up for all of the mediocre writing, doesn't it? Leo. |

I'm sorry to have to announce that my Yahoo groups Stories Unbound and It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Dan will close at midnight GMT tonight.
This is due to personal circumstances which leave me no time to participate in our community, and which will take some time to resolve. I hope to return at some point, hopefully this year. In the meantime, I wish to thank all who have looked at my fakes over the last four years, and especially those who have helped with hosting, raw material and group moderation. Wednesday March 09 09:51:04 2005 Doctor Who |
According to a BBC News item this lunchtime, a showing of the first story of the new Doctor Who series was very well received by critics and fan groups, who found it funny and exciting.
State-of-the-art special effects have reportedly not been allowed to overwhelm the show's traditional wit and style. Billie Piper, playing the Doc's companion, said many of the crew were old-time fans, joking about re-creating those hide-behind-the-couch moments. No word about any DiD scenes yet, but it sounds hopeful. The series airs from April in the UK. |

Bruce Willis is also a producer of the film. When Rumer, one of his three daughters with ex-wife Demi Moore, expressed a desire to play the role of his daughter in the film, she had to audition.
"Working with my own daughter allowed me to reach a higher point of departure emotionally than if I had worked with another actress. I carried that Polaroid (of his daughter and wife bound and gagged as hostages) with me everywhere. I didn't have to look too far to imagine the horror." |
Wednesday March 09 12:05:29 2005 Nancy Drew comics |
I wouldn't get your hopes up, but independent comics publisher Papercutz has just announced a new Nancy Drew comic, to be written by Stefan Petrucha (who has written comics based on The X-Files and Kolchak), and illustrated by Sho Murase.
There's interviews with the writer which go on and on about empowerment and such, though he claims to have gone back to the original books for some inspiration. The posted sample suggests a very weak Buffy clone. As I say, I'm not hopeful (and I really don't care for Murase's manga-flavored art), but if you want to read more, copy and paste the link: http://www.papercutz.com/nd/nd.html |

Nail on the head sir... nail on the head! Perhaps these people who immediately post requesting caps/clips should try being a little more on top of recording these shows for themselves (assuming they get the show in their area of course.) It just feels to me like some here rely on the clippers/cappers to do their work for them. I know I have been guilty of that in the past at times myself. |

Elisha's character was not killed off, she has moved away with one of the CTU agents from last season, presumably to be married. Producers said the target audience began to dislike her character because she truly served no purpose since the first season. Agreed. Most, if not all of the cappers are willing to give you scenes that we have capped, especially if we are in a crappy situation when it comes to hosting (i.e. have to use geocities or yahoo groups) Just don't post requests here, there are way too many other posts here and stuff gets lost. The trading forum might be a better place. If I see a request there, I generally send you a cap by email or whatever if I have it. Oh, yes, a please / thank you would be nice, as would being civil in emails. |

Wednesday March 09 17:13:13 2005 Commercial On WE |
The cable network WE (Women's Entertainment) -- hey! I watch it for "Two Guys and Girl," okay? -- is currently running a cute little commercial involving one of their series. It's an Australian-sounding thing called "McLeod's Daughters" (or something like that), and in the beginning of the commercial you see a typical youngish housewife talking on the phone with a friend and extolling the virtues of this foreign soaper. Then you hear a "thump!" and the housefrau says that her son has fallen off of his chair. The camera pulls back to reveal the son, her husband, and an early-teen daughter all securely bound and gagged with silver ducttape, obviously so as not to interrupt the woman's enjoyment of the program. The woman sits her son upright, asks if he's okay, and then returns to her phonecall while the trapped trio moan and struggle. It's short but sweet. If you have any reason whatsoever to drop by WE (and Suzanne Cryer is awfully "purty" on "Two Guys and a Girl"), keep an eye out for this one. Leo the Open-Minded. |

People would be much more receptive to requests if they came from non- anonymous posters that have contributed to the discussion in the past. It doesn't take much to post enough to become part of the community. If all one does is lurk and request freebies, then others are too eager to help out. We certainly understand that some people aren't able to tape, or are outside the USA where the show may not be seen for some time (if ever). While it doesn't exactly mean it will translate to the big screen, I picked up the novelization of the movie the other day and perused through it. The scene with Michelle Horn seems to be fairly lengthy, as the main bad guy taunts her a little while she is tied arms and legs to the chair arms and legs. She is later rescued by her brother, but left bound and gagged as he doesn't want anyone to know he is out and about. The mother/daughter scene seems to be very short. They are mentioned frequently in the book, but they are only "seen" at the end, bound and gagged in a car. The book has everyone gagged with duct tape, although this seemingly isn't the case (Horn is gagged with some sort of white tape, and the mother and daughter are cleave gagged from the pics of the movie). Thought you'd all like to know. |

---- I was the one who'd posted the VCR Alert several days ago, which was based on the info contained both in TV Guide magazine + my local newspaper's TV guide. But it looks like Spike TV (as a number of other TV stations do), exercised its right to make late-programming changes. 98% of my VCR Alerts are as a "public service" to Brian's Pagers -- usually I've seen or heard of them before, and I don't intend on tuning in myself. If a scene means that much to a viewer, it's a good idea to double-check your local listings, whether online (zap2it.com, etc.) or your trusty local newspaper. I often post these in the early morning (before I've had my first cup of coffee), and I've also been known to even make a typo now and then on a date or a time. |
