Wow! An American TV show in the 70's actually showed something like that? I can't even recall a TV show from the 70s that even showed a woman in her underwear, let alone one where she was bound and gagged in it. It's funny because they'd show women in bikinis that were far more revealing than the granny panties most women probably wore in the 70s. Our culture can be so paradoxical at times.

On IMDB it says the Exec Producer was Caroll O'Connor. Who knew ol Archie Bunker was so progressive?

Yes, most dvd recorders will do that.
If you're trying to go from dvd to dvd, use a computer and use "DVD Shrink". You'll probably will have to compress because most DVD-Rs / DVD+Rs are onlt 4.5 GB and most DVDs are bigger than that.
If you want to cap a scene out as opposed to copying the entire DVD, you'll have to rip the DVD and compress it. There are a bunch of programs that do that, but they all suck. I don't think I'm exaggerating here either.
Gordian Knot and NeoDivx suck the least (Gordian Knot's "interface" is a PITA to use and Neodivx doesn't read ~20% of new dvds, so..)

Then you can use virtualdub to cut out the scene.

I hope someone can suggest a better DVD ripping app. I'd be interested in hearing about something that doesn't suck.

I should specify that I use a variation of VD called VirtualDub-mpeg2
This not only rips any DVD directly to AVI, but allows clipping out any part you wish as you go along.
It's the only program that's required to do the entire operation.

Cool. Do you know of one that works with VBR audio without having to decode the entire audio stream into .wav (and re-encode audio later?)

If BEFORE saving to AVI, you check both boxes under video/audio and select 'full processing mode' all your
audio work is done in one step with nothing further to be done.

I agree. There was a good close-up of Jill Hennessy's cuffed hands on last nights show. I have been hoping for a bondage scene with Jill for a long time.

I think you are confusing The Sentinel with The Marshal. The Kari Wuhrer scene and the other scene took place on The Marshal. Details are in the scene database.

Elisha in Distress
From a "House of Wax Interview"

After three seasons on “24” and now this, what’s the secret to playing a cool damsel in distress?

ELISHA CUTHBERT: To keep everything as real as possible. When you get scripts in and you think, “Okay, I’ve never been in this situation before. How can I make this look real?” You just go through all those steps and I go through different ideas in my mind and write them down, and see which works better.

It’s difficult. But as long as I can make an audience feel something, I don’t care whether it’s a good thing or bad thing, just to feel something is important to me. And so if I can convey it as real as possible, that makes the most sense.

Sarah Brown
Record number: 1453

Title: VR Troopers
Medium: TV Series
Actress: Sarah Brown

Description: Episode: "Front Page" (1.17)

Captured by some alen-type thugs, Sarah is tied to an oil barrel and struggles. She is gagged when her captors get tired of hearing her talk too much. She is ungagged later but remains tied and struggling against the barrel for the entire episode.

Did anyone ever get this scene, or is it just another myth? It just seems strange that it's never appeared anywhere before

Other examples of DinD's screaming despite knowing what will happen include Yvonne Craig in 'Man From UNCLE' and Katy Kurtzman in 'Allison Sidney Harrison'
Monday April 25 13:15:10 2005
Campbell cuffed
In a British TV ad for Cherokee clothes, sold by the Tesco supermarket chain, model Naomi Campbell commits various antisocial acts (breaking a guy's guitar, squirting water over a crowd, etc) at an American beach resort. In the last shot, she is led away, hands cuffed behind, by two cops.

I've only seen it once, so a fuller description will follow once the exact rationale is established.

KM.C: Indeed! You were all over the place in the late 1970's, with no less than TWENTY-FIVE television appearances! Do you recall this as a crazy time for you, or were you loving every minute of it? Any favorites?

KK: ..Another favorite was ALLISON SYDNEY HARRISON (Airing 1983), starring Ted Danson, after he did THE ONION FIELD and right before CHEERS. It was a Pilot for NBC. We shot it in San Francisco. Dad, Ted Danson, was a PI. I managed to involve myself in his investigation of murder, solving the case and almost getting killed in the process.

Témoins silencieux, ep: "Le Don de la vie"

Témoins silencieux, ep: "Quand le doute s'installe"

Témoins silencieux, ep: "Qui ne risque rien, n'a rien"

Not in 4th season yet.

Jill also had a handcuff scene in the 1997 movie "Most Wanted." Cuffed to a steering wheel for a few minutes.

Sounds like scene creep to me. I recall a similar sort

I remember seeing this episode the first time it aired and Sarah was definitely not gagged. She certainly should have been, but wasn't. I came across the scene a few months ago while reviewing an old tape and can confirm the lack of a gag.

LIES AND DECEPTIONS & WIRE IN THE BLOOD
Good thing Wire is being repeated later tonight since I missed most of most of the scene trying to get Madchen Amick's scene which only came on in the last 5 minutes of the show. Only one good scene but it's a nice close-up before the gag comes off. Long time between when she's captured and the gag scene is shown. The real prize is the scene in Wire in the Blood. The first black tape gag scene involves a guy but in the last half hour there's a good scene with a babe with a black tape gag. Because of focusing on Madchen, I only saw a part of it but it was enough to see it was a good scene. Unsure of scene times, only last half hour and goes to near end of episode. Long eommercial break breaks up the scene.

Afraid any recorder will give you same answer. Nobody mentioned it but but go to simacorp.com and they sell a converter for DVD's. Pricey at around $133.00. But the one I bought at Circuit City has allowed me to record off every DVD I've bought or rented.

Medium possibility?
Like Hallbird, I too was bouncing between LIES and DECEPTION and WIRE IN THE BLOOD. While both shows were in commercial I noticed the NBC show MEDIUM had a premise that involved a airplane pilot whose wife was missing. I wasn't able to confirm anything due to watching the other shows, but if any West Coasters want to take a flyer on this (assuming it isn't a repeat ... sorry, I don't follow that show) and something pops, please let us know.
