Since she is securely gagged with duct tape over her mouth, her warnings are feckless and ignored. Too late, her captor realizes that her muffled warnings should've been heeded. I can think of two other movies where a bound and gagged damsel attempts to warn someone of a killer lurking behind them. The first is "Evil Laugh", an inane slasher film about a group of good-looking doctors being stalked by a killer. One of the doctors is a gorgeous blonde who is bound and gagged on a bed as part of a sex game. Her wrists and ankles are tied to the bedposts and she is cleave-gagged with a black cloth. The killer enters the bedroom in which she is bound and gagged and briefly stands over her and cackles maniacally before concealing himself in the shadows. The bound and gagged damsel tries desperately to warn her boyfriend of impending danger, but her warnings are feckless through her gag. The second movie is "Abducted II: The Reunion", which features three damsels bound and gagged by a deranged hermit. The ladies are on a camping trip, and are separately overpowered by said deranged hermit. In the scene subsequent to their capture, a nerdy and forlorn park attendant is investigating the disoderly remains of their camp, when he hears three distinct voices making "mmph" sounds. He investigates the source of the sounds, and comes upon the three gorgeous campers, tied to a tree stump with their mouths taped shut. Despite being gagged with duct tape, the ladies try to warn him about the hermit lurking nearby; they persistently make the "mmph" sounds and shake their heads imploringly, to no avail. Can anyone think of any other movies where one or more bound and gagged damsels try to warn a potential rescuer about potential danger, such as a killer lurking nearby? |

Okay tonights episode of Home and Away had several short scenes showing Sally sitting on a chair with her ankles tied together and to the legs and her wrists tied together behind her back and behind the chair. She was sitting alone in a room in an abandoned factory and the camerea circled around her a few times so you got a look at her from all angles. There was also a close up of her wrists. I think it'd be safe to assume we'll get to keep seeing Sally tied up for the rest of the week as the story doesn't climax until Friday. |

Killer scene. Poor mom gets freed from the bomb chair, but is she really free? Nope. She's still bound hands behind back and gagged for several more scenes with her son holding on to her as dad talks to the bad guys some more. She even has to RUN out of the building while bound & gagged. Dress, high heels and all. A MUST SEE if there ever was one. |

Does anyone know of any mainstream scenes in which women are locked up in cages, the smaller the better (as opposed to large jail cells)?
I know there was a scene in 'Charmed' with a woman tied up and gagged in a dog cage, but other than this I can't think of any others. |

I can't believe there were no posts about The L Word on Showtime. Last night's episode, opening scene, a very attractive blonde lesbian is tied to a cross and being teased and slightly tormented by another woman. And yes, there is a gag. Looks like a leather/rubber gag, it's removed for a few moments then put back in. It looks like Mia Kirschner would get the full treatment as she gets tied to the cross toward the end of the episode. But she ends up having a nervous breakdown and breaks free from her bonds. The gag never makes its way to her mouth. Damn! Anyway, still a good scene. |

Two examples for Olga-of-the-gaggable-lips: ------- Record number: 1451 Title: Seven Days aka 7 Days Medium: TV Series Actress: Justina Vail Description: Episode: "Two Weddings and a Funeral" (2.5) Both Dr. Olga and her evil twin wind up in bondage in this episode. 1) Olga's tied to a bed with her wrists attached to the headboard. 2) Next Olga has her wrists bound behind her back, with the rope being tied to a bar of a giant birdcage. 3) Later, Olga is bound to a chair and cleave-gagged. 4) Her evil twin is tied and gagged in the same situation. Very nice stuff! ------- Granted, the "giant birdcage" had a sprung or missing door, but it was "nice stuff". ...&... ------- Record number: 2530 Title: Seven Days aka 7 Days Medium: TV Series Actress: Ingrid Torrance, Justina Vail, Jennifer Copping Description: Episode: "The Collector" (2.8) A religious psychopath kidnaps Dr. Olga Vukavitch (Vail) and two other women, binds their wrists in front with duct tape and locks them in cages. In a short scene in the first 30 minutes, Copping's character is seen in a car, wrapgagged in duct tape, wrists taped together and to her chest with tape encircling her upper arms. ------- The "cages" were more like chain-link storage enclosures, by the way. |

Oh, & did someone mention Cameron Diaz yet?
------- Record number: 2457 Title: Being John Malkovich (1999) Medium: Movie Actress: Cameron Diaz, Catherine Keener Description: Diaz plays the wife of a loser who discovers a portal into the head of John Malkovich, which is rented out by her husband's co-worker (Keener) with whom she also has an affair while inside the head of the aforementioned Malkovich. Confused? Anyhow, when her husband discovers the affair he binds, tape gags, and locks her in a cage. Excellent moans and mmpphhing offset the piss poor lighting, (not to mention that haircut!) She's bound and gagged off and on for about twenty five minutes in this one starting at the 01:08:00 mark. A short while later in the film (but about eight months later in the story), Keener's visibly pregnant character is shown sitting with her wrists tied in front after having been kidnapped. She manages to untie her hands and run off just as Diaz pulls a gun and squeezes off a couple of shots as she runs into the portal. |

Monday May 02 14:43:04 2005 Women in Luggage |
Not to change the subject too abruptly from the truly interesting Women in Cages, but it got me to thinking, how many scenes - not many that I can think of - is a woman left bound and gagged in a suitcase, suit bag, steamer trunk, duffel bag, etc.?
I can only think of a spare few, such as The Transporter in which the pretty Asian actress is tied up in a duffel bag in the trunk of a car for quite some time. I've also seen an mpeg clip from an unknown movie/TV show of a woman - tied up in a bikini - put inside and carried away in a duffel bag (don't know what that's from). Also I seem to recall a soap opera in which a woman was kept in a steamer trunk in a hotel room for a little while. Besides those, the only other examples I can think of is where the concept of putting a damsel bound and gagged in luggage probably originated - in some of the bondage comic strips of the '40s and '50s by Eric Stanton and the like. |

The Bionic Woman in her only full treatment scene, "The Over-the-Hill Spy", bound, gagged and put into a steamer trunk. Susan St. James was bound, gagged, blindfolded, and put into a large canvas drawsting bag during her abduction in the episode, "The Man Without A Face" |

> Can anyone think of any other movies where one or more bound and gagged damsels try to warn a potential rescuer about potential danger, such as a killer
lurking nearby? ---- As evidenced by the large number of responses, there are many such scenes. That shouldn't be a surprise -- after all, a standard DiD storyline setup *Is*: Villain kidnaps hero's girlfriend/wife in order to lure the hero/heroine into a deathtrap. It's such a cliche, scriptwriters have to think up a twist to make it of any suspense to mainstream viewers. E.g., "A Deadly Vision" the B&g'd damsel communicates the hero's peril telepathically, and in "Seven Hours to Judgement she's held in a straightjacket. |

Monday May 02 20:23:52 2005 sinisters and steamer trunks |
ATWT had a good scene a few years ago where the villain had a female tied to a tree. It was a ploy to lure a guy to try to rescue her. So you knew she would be gagged at some point. The guy shows up, gets hit from behind, etc. She stays gagged.
This same setup also led to an OTM gag for Meg Ryan. Alas, this was 20 years ago. Lost World had a scene where Jennifer O'Dell was led in while gagged to keep her from giving away the villain's plan. This may not quite fit with the theme, but it was a pleasant scene. And not too long ago, our ATWT buddy James had Emily B&G'd in a steamer trunk. And didn't Kate Jackson get crated on Scarecrow and Mrs. King? As did the actress who played the female cop on Dempsey and Makepeace? |

But, let's not forget one of my favorite scenes, Juli Donald in "The Law and Harry McGraw." She valiantly tries to warn Jerry Orbach of the two hidden thugs, and does so both with her head motions, trying to point out the locations of the thugs, and vocally through her white tape gag. You can almost understand her saying "Over there," as she tries to point out the bad guys. Alas, Jerry doesn't understand her warnings. I'm sure he (like all the rest of us would be) was just focused on the fact that there was a beautiful woman bound and gagged on the floor in front of him. |
