Tuesday June 28 00:06:00 2005 Two-fers |
Have no idea why this crossed my mind at this moment (perhaps that last "spirited" beverage) but I'm wondering what is the best multi-scene bondage flick of all time.
By multi-scene I'm referring to when one actress gets bound in two or more scenes in the same movie. Gina Gershon was technically tied up in multiple scenes in Bound, but storyline-wise, it all happened in the same period of time. I'm referring more to when an actress gets tied up, rescued, and then tied up later in the movie. Below I've rattled off a few nominees that come off the top of my head in no particular order: - Jamie King, Lonestar (2) - Reese Witherspoon, Best Laid Plans (2) - Cameron Diaz, A Life Less Ordinary (2) - Cameron Diaz, Head Above Water (3) - Yancy Butler, Thin Air (2) - Nicole Kidman, Birthday Girl (2) I'm certain there are more; however, the above are well known and get across the general idea. Tuesday June 28 00:38:11 2005 A FRIEND OF THE FAMILY alert |
I posted an alert for the Fourth of July for Lifetime's original premiere A FRIEND OF THE FAMILY, set for Monday night at 8 p.m. CST. I caught the promo commercial Monday night (unfortunately tape wasn't rolling) and saw a blond actress with her arms spread AOH with a gag. Couldn't describe the gag for you because the scene went by quick but it was definitely mufflement of some type. |

Happened to catch a promo for this film on tape tonight. In this one there's a quick shot of a blonde woman tied to a chair and ballgagged. Very quick shot which I had to slow down to inspect. The actress is NOT the blonde lead, Laura Harris. |

I can recall such a scene in a defunct television program. The actress was Constance Marie, and the show was "Cobra", which aired during the early 1990's. The episode was entitled "Nowhere to Run", and its plot concerned a gorgeous woman, played by Ms. Marie, who is fleeing an abusive husband. She is bound and gagged with duct tape on two occasions, early and late in the episode, during attempts by her husband to kidnap her. |

I just remembered another television program in which a damsel was bound and gagged twice. It was an episode of "Whiz Kids", in which Andrea Elson, the hot young teenage Whiz Kid, was captured while snooping around the bad guys' hideout. She was bound and gagged by one of the villains in a basement. The villain gagged her with a strip of tape, and made a snide remark as he left her bound and gagged. As I recall, he checked on her once, and she was freed from her bondage when the noises she made through her gag attracted the attention of a janitor. She ran outside, but was subsequently caught by one of the villains, and once again bound and gagged, this time standing upright. |

I'm referring more to when an actress gets tied up, rescued, and then tied up later in the movie. ---- Jane Russell in "The Outlaw" (1943). Kim Cattrall in "Big Trouble in Little China" (1987). From TV: Francine York in Batman ("The Bookworm Turns"). |

Tuesday June 28 09:45:15 2005 OLTL |
Doesn't look like there will be any scenes today, but I imagine we'll all tape it, just in case.
A quick suggestion: I've noticed that ABC often runs promo/preview ads for their various soaps at either around the half hour mark or in the last 5 minutes of the preceding soap, often including teaser scenes from an upcoming Thursday / Friday episode. I don't know if that sentence made any sense, so let me give a more concrete example. In this case, All My Children precedes OLTL. Based on what I've seen in the past, it is possible that ABC would run a commericial for OLTL at either the middle or end of All My Children, and it is possible that this commerical would include scenes from this week's OLTL cliffhangers. And again, it is quite within the realm of possibility that this week's cliffhanger will be the Natalie / Evangeline tie up. So if you're setting your VCRs, I'd suggest taping All My Children, too, or at least setting it to catch the last 10 minutes of AMC, just in case they run a promo for OLTL. No promises, but those of us who can't wait for a glimpse of Nat / Evangeline, it's worth the extra effort. |

Susan Howard in Rockford Files ("Feeding Frenzy") which, coincidentally, airs here today in L.A. Tawny Kitaen in "Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of Yuk Yuk" Bridget Fonda in "Single White Female" (although she wasn't rescued before being tied and gagged again) Tori Higginson in "Jugleground" (again not rescued between tie ups) Yancy Buter in "Thin Air: A Spencer for Hire Mystery" (another non-rescue) Christina Marsillach in "Opera" Nicole Kidman in "Birthday Girl" Elizabeth Hurley in "My Favorite Martian" I'm sure there are numerous examples in Soaps and serialized TV shows like Elisa Cuthbert in "24". Heh-- the one I was going to mention! The first time I remember tuning in to a TV program just for the bondage (either it was the summer re-run, or I had seen an ad, not sure which). Not sure if Sarah Purcell in "Terror Among Us" counts-- by the time the gagging actually takes place, she's gone from attempts at rational persuasion to generalized whimpering. |

A closer angle of this scene showed up in the coming-attractions preview for this episode. I think she's also tied hands behind back at the end of the episode, aboard the fake flying saucer, although this isn't included in the database. It clashed with "Adam Adamant Lives", which reportedly produced several good scenes, nearly all lost forever in the great videotape massacre of the early '70s. That show was the inspiration for "Austin Powers", and I missed the second half of nearly every single one because of that flamin' Honey West! :-(( |

Tuesday June 28 13:17:39 2005 Trying To Escape Scenes |
Noticed in the two-fers list very few of these scenes had damsels trying hard to escape. Mostly, actresses are resigned to their fate and rarely escape (usually scenes are so short anyway). Trying to think of scenes where captive trys to, almost does, or actually escapes and not a lot comes up. "Die Die My Darling" is a classic one, "Cheaper To Keep Her" another, also "Terror Among Us" (Sarah only) and "Von Ryan's Express". I think wriggling to escape is what really makes the scene hot (usually makes it longer too); sitting there is so boring. The Avengers, for example, rarely had escape scenes; probably so that they could be rescued by Steed. |

The most memorable scene that comes to my mind is Katharina Abt's escape attempt in "You Have My Family's Trust." Obviously it's a single damsel, but it's one of the greatest (some may argue THE greatest) DiD movies ever with one of the most enjoyable escape attempts ever. What makes it work for me is the amount of effort Ms. Abt puts into her escape: the moaning and struggling while she breaks her chains with a rock -- with her hands tied behind her back and one hell of a thick, tight cleave gag -- earns this scene tops on my list. Actually, I don't have a list yet, but never mind that. Anyway, that's my pick for top of the heap. Any other nominees? |

Drop required ep number and avoid goofs at TVcom |

Is this really bondage? Why are people so interested in it?
To me, bondage in something done with flesh & bone people. Watching a woman's expression as she realizes she's immobile to me is true bondage. Anybody can draw a character that is tied up. Plus they always draw the all-time usless gag: OTM/detective gag. That isn't real bondage or a gag. I grew up watching Inspector Gadget & Scooby Doo. The scenes with Daphne Blake & Penny bore me to tears. They do NOT inspire me at all. All these modern cartoon & their "bondage" is so lame. 99 times out of 100, it's a vine wrapped around a body or something bogus like that. BORING! I also grew up watching The Dukes of Hazard & T.J. Hooker. Now that's bondage! Catherine Bach & Heather Locklear tied up, no matter how loose or lame it was, got my juices flowing. That to me is what TV & Movie bondage should be. Not cartoons with voice-overs, actual actresses in actual distress. |

I see tons of missing information, so in addition to cnet changing it so that it looks like some art student straight out of community college designed it, cnet also raped the content too. I did make a site rip of it (epguides) (only about a 100 mb - mostly text), so just in case it goes away in the future, we will have a good source from which we can ID episodes properly. Wish I could of have done that to tome, that would of have been great. I know there is archive.org and all, but that is far from complete. If anyone does have a copy of the tv tome site... |
