Wednesday May 11 00:16:07 2005 Description of a past scene |
This just occured to me. A good few years back, maybe in 96 or 97, I was reading some gossip in a Star tabloid. It mentioned an actress who had a scene in an upcoming movie, meaning that movie would've been released years ago. I can't remember a single name, for the actress or the movie, but anyway... The word was that she had a scene where she was bound and gagged while naked or almost naked on a psychiatrist's couch. Supposedly, she kept giggling, thus delaying the filming process. It was said that her male costar, once again I can't remember any names, was growing really frustrated with her.
Does such a scene exist? I never recall any movie like that. I figured since it came from a tabloid, it might just be BS, like a lot of the stuff they 'report' but it may also be based in some reality. Does the description ring a bell for anyone? I used the word 'psychiatrist' to search the database and came up with nothing. |

Medium: TV Movie Actress: Lisa Calder, Lisa Rinna Description: In this family comedy, 2 moronic villains invade a home (plot not unlike the "Home Alone" series). They tie up the babysitter Gwen (Calder) and her boyfriend in the basement. They sit back to back on chairs, hands tied behind their backs- ropes visible-and with lots of white rope wrapped around their upper bodies. Their feet are free.>>> I would love to see this movie, anyone know if it still plays? Any vidcaps of it anywhere? Do any video stores carry this film? |

Going through caps and being anal about indexing them.
I'm pretty sure that is rose mcgowan, but am not 100% on it. Cap is from Charmed 6x18, BPR-10252. If someone could confirm, that would rock. Quality is kind of shitty, yeah, I know. |

Don't exactly follow the show, lol. OK, here's a question for anyone here who *does* watch the show: WTF is going on? Seriously, who is this character, and is bondage sex a part of her characterization on the show? Was this a fantasy or dream sequence? Is there even a remote chance that they're suggesting that more-or-less "normal" folks can be into kinky sex? It would present quite a contrast to "The Shield". While in some ways, it's the best season of that show yet, I'm really disappointed in what they've done with Lt Aceveda: they're using his interest in rough sex to symbolize his descent into a genuinely unpleasant character, once more making that all-too-easy connection: "kink = bad". |

The reason I didn't put it in the database is I was only partially watching it with some friends while playing euchre. I seem to recall a woman tied to a chair with a thin cleave gagged, and it doesn't end very well for her. At some point, I intend on renting it, maybe sooner before later. |

Wednesday May 11 17:36:07 2005 Anita Barone in The Takeover |
Hi. I'm curious whether anyone has seen this scene--I haven't and I've never seen caps. Curious because I saw the lovely Ms. Barone in another film the other day and hoped she might have a scene somewhere. Anyone seen it and know whether it's worth picking up a cheap used copy? (And what type/color of tape is used for the gag?)
Thanks for any help you can give... Title: The Takeover (1995) Medium: Movie Actress: Anita Barone Description: Anita is captured by her brother's pursuers. They grab her as she comes out of her house and tape gag her. She is later seen in a chair, tied and still tape gagged. A few nice cloe-ups. |

I Haven't seen it myself but I believe the scene you're thinking of was Naomi Campbell in 'Invasion of Privacy' I read the same news report though I seem to recall it was the director who got fed up with her giggling eventually deciding to dub more appropriate noises over the top. In the film she's definately tied up on a psychiatrists couch. I assume it's in the database but i wouldn't swear to it because i've never actually looked for it. |

Anyway, to the poster who asked about Boogeyman II...I'm pretty sure that the flashback scene in Boogeyman II is the entire, complete scene from the original Boogeyman. The scene isn't all that long anyway, and it's pretty much focused on the bondage parts throughout its entire length (no cutaways to cops searching, etc.) so it wasn't too surprising the whole thing was used as a flashback in Part II. Now, I'm not 100% certain...someone else might want to clarify more. Hope this helps. Actually, I didn't know EITHER was out on DVD..I think I'll go rent Part II as well, as I need an upgrade! |

There are plenty of other sites out there that have forums for exactly what you are looking for, why get so upset because ONE other site has a different niche? What you guys really should realize is that eventually all this negative attitude makes running a free website more of a hassle than a hobby, and leads to serious thoughts about the point of doing it at all. |

That's led to the downfall of sites run by nicer guys than me. Good thing I'm not a nice guy! I like our focus, "our thing" as it's been called. The front page tries to explain why, and I think it's not to hard to see why stuff found on the internet doesn't qualify as "mainstream" as I've defined it. John asked, which was fine, I said no. Or rather The Mod did, but you know, FAQ 2.4 and all that. Unfortunately, he's like the little kid who's told that he can't have Sugar Pops, he thinks if he cries and sulks and whines it's going to make a difference. It won't. |

Wednesday May 11 21:30:10 2005 Fear factor / audio codecs |
OK, so I got a copy of the fear factor show from someone and am having this damn problem with vbr / audio skew / again.
Does anyone have the Radium ACM codec available? Virtualdub needs an ACM codec to decode audio, so the directshow codec I have installed wont work. My workaround has been to just record the audio on another computer via line in and then import it, but that is a pain in the ass (and takes an hour per episode.) Does anyone know of any virtualdub-like programs that can utilize directshow codecs to decode audio or can deal with VBR audio natively? I'll have a cap of the episode later tonight, doing my workaround right now... |

Wednesday May 11 23:12:08 2005 Cheap vs. Bullshit Cleavings |
I was just browsing thru some clips in my library today, making some observations .. as most DiD fans probably do .. I think being able to "over-analyze" into the bondage helps with the attraction to it .. Anyways, the primary finding I was interested in was the difference between what I call a "bullshit gag" versus a "functional gag". In particular, I'm talking about cleaves. Here are a few examples to illustrate what I mean, and anyone whose seen this scenes knows exactly what I'm talking about:
FUNCTIONAL: - Bound with Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly. Those are REAL gags. - Kelly Ripa's earliest scene on AMC. - That girl in Zig Zag. - Charisma Carpenter in Angel's "Parting Gifts" - Jessica Alba in Flipper's "Past Tense" - Ana Lucia Dominguez, her scene in Te Voy. BULLSHIT: - Natalia Cigliuti in Simon Sez, that flimsy yellow crap. - Yvonne Craig in Batman's "Catwoman's Dressed to Kill" - Linda Carter and Loni Anderson, their duo scene in Partner's in Crime. - Susan Saint James in McMillian and Wife's "Man without a Face" Now, I realize some scenes with bullshit gags are still good, because of gag talk fans, or simply because the damsel has it goin' on. Regardless, what the hell is the point of these gags? Honestly, a thin piece of weak cloth isn't going to do anything to prevent a damsel from shouting her lungs out. Just a blog. Tell me what you guys think .. |

Tell me what you guys think .. I think to some extent it's that the viewer has always been expected to undergo "suspension of disbelief"-- see the Wikipedia article of the same title. We know the gag's a fake just as the guns don't have real bullets and the blood is stage blood and the characters are really actors. Perhaps more than this is just that most people simply don't know that a hankie pulled between the teeth won't keep anyone quiet or prevent them from talking, nor would they care if you told them. I really wish more cloth gags were shown to have another wad of cloth stuffed into the damsel's mouth to make them at least seem more effective but there's a workplace safety issue here so I guess I can live without it. |
