Thursday May 26 12:50:37 2005 House of Wax - Cuthbert Interview Excerpt |
'So if beating a guy to death with a bat was the most fun on set, what was the biggest challenge? "I think the sequence where I'm getting tied up on the chair with the bindings and all that stuff. Even though that may be like a two minute sequence, it took like three or four days to accomplish, so physically it was a very grueling time. We kind of did parts of it, came back to it, did parts of it, back and forth, back and forth and then coming down the stairs, it was a lot of sequences that took part in making that.' |

Thursday May 26 12:57:59 2005 Jolie movie |
I just saw a longer trailer for "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" with Angelina Jolie. Of course, not much of interest except one clip where her and Pitt are running from a building that explodes. Starts on June 10, but there hasn't been much publicity as far as photos and trailers. |

Elena was also tied to a chair (I think) later in the episode. Bonds never shown. But she didn't move much when approached with a hyperdermic needle. |

Thursday May 26 13:53:23 2005 waiting for a train - the hard way. |
Thanks to anyone who responded to my earlier post. please keep 'em coming. From what I've found track tied damsels are either spreadeagled or have their arms at their sides, hands in front with nice thickish rope at the shoulders and round the torso and legs. this is easily the best method and always the coolest look. An example of this is an image I found on this very site. it's from a trailer for the Phillips and wahl radio show. there's one cap of it in one of the E-zines. I'd love to see a complete set of caps of this scene if anyone has them.
Also does anyone remember two scenes from british comedy shows from the early eighties. better yet, does anyone, by some miracle, happen to have these scenes and are willing to post some caps? Descriptions below: "Who dares wins" featuring a sketch showing what was meant to be "lost" footage of Charlie Chaplin. In one a damsel is tied to the tracks with ropes wrapped around her chest and legs, arms by her side A train is bearing down on her and it would appear "Charlie" has plenty of time to rescue her. But he fumbles with a pen knife for so long a time that the train rolls right over her. An episode of the comedy series "Metal Mickey","Video Mickey" produced by ex "Monkee" Mickey Dolenz featuring the star of the show, a pet robot granting the members of a family it lived with the chance to play out their favourite movie moments. The youngest son, a boy genius who plays the role of a silent movie villain ties his 18 year old sister to railroad tracks, with ropes around her torso, shoulders and legs. At the last second the robot, switches points and the girl is saved. It's doubtful if anyone has these but I gotta ask. |

Around the same time she had the lead role in a six-part childrens series "Watch all Night" and in the final episode was heavily and convincingly duct taped. Can't recall exactly how she was tied but I think she was taped to a fridge or wardrobe something like that. There was a putz as well but they were tied in seperate rooms so prbably didn't appear on camera at the same time. From what little i can recall her hands were taped in front, her arms taped down so she couldn't reach up and remove the tape gag. There was lots of gag talk and desperate struggling. Pretty good. I'd love to see it again |

This one is good, especially the original edition, but even better is the first edition Mystery at Lilac Inn. The bad guys (and the narrator) make a big fuss over Nancy's gag--it is stuffed down her throat so it nearly chokes her and she passes out. Then she is gagged with packing and a cloth to hold it in until one guy fears she is going to choke again and removes the packing. One would swear the author is one of us! |

Hey Jos I think I speak for the majority of us in saying... Thanks a TON for any update WHENEVER you get time to do one. Free sites Rock FEROCIOUSLY and ANY updates are equally awesome! btw sorry for the disappearing act. My 'Puter picked up a nasty virus that basically totally destroyed everything. I had to reformat the hard drive and start almost from scratch... good news is I was able to dump all the "good stuff" to an alternate hardrive so I didn't really lose anything of importance and I managed to rid my PC of years of useless junk. but I was MIA for about a week. :^( |

In addition, the story on Dirty Harry Callahan's pursuit of the sadistic white slavers isn't a bad read. |

Thursday May 26 22:16:28 2005 Would you believe... |
...that there appear to be only three titles of interest among Time Magazine's recently released list ot what they consider to be the top 100 movies of all time?
Of course, the original "King Kong" made it, along with the 1927 silent sci-fi classic "Metropolis." The latter half of the "Godfather" entry-they listed the first two installments together-accounts for the third film with a scene. Top 100 of all time, indeed! I mean, where's "House of Wax" (the original, not the current one)? How about "I Want to Live!" (come on, Time, Susan Hayward DID win an Oscar for Best Actress for that one, you know)? Did anyone remember "The Collector?" Samantha Eggar pulled down a Best Actress nomination herself, for crying out loud! So did Linda Blair for "The Exorcist," didn't she? Okay, gang, that's enough of my ranting. It's your turn. How many movies with a scene (I don't care what kind, just as long as it meets our current criteria for inclusion in the database) would you think rank among the best 100 feature films ever released? I'll add a couple more and then jump out of the way: The 1939 version of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" with Maureen O'Hara as Esmeralda, and "Three Days of the Condor" with Faye ("This is...UNFAIR!") Dunaway. All right, have at it! |

Thursday May 26 23:42:30 2005 Ana Lucia Strikes Again |
Just caught another scene with Ana Lucia Dominguez (who had the amazing sequence in "Te Voy A Ensenar" a short while ago) on the Telemundo show "Decisiones" (on at 10PM). She continually sneaks out to see her boyfriend, so her mother(?) grabs her from behind and chains her hand and foot to her bed. She spends the next half hour chained up. She's wearing a schoolgirl outfit (short skirt, white socks) - very nice. |
