The anti tape gag crowd here always posting that duct tape is overused or not interesting. This scene uses something different and what is the question? Humorous. |

You're correct when you state that a material besides the ubiquitous duct tape was used to bind and gag actresses, and that provided some people with a refreshing change. Duct tape is actually my favorite bondage material, so I never tire of seeing it used to bind and gag an actress. The reason I questioned the use of bedsheets to bind and gag six women is that it would be time-consuming. The sheets must be torn into strips, a cloth must be carefully positioned around the damsel's wrists and ankles and between her teeth, and fairly complex knots must be tied. The killer forced the women to bind each other with the strips of torn bedsheet. He may have then gagged them himself. This would take a fair amount of time, and the danger of losing control of the situation is omnipresent. Binding and gagging the damsels with duct tape would be far more expedient. A length of duct tape could be easily and quickly wound around each damsel's wrists, and then a strip applied over each one's mouth. Their ankles could then be secured, and if desired, one or two more strips applied over their mouths to gag them more effectively. The crime, however, was a spontaneous event. The killer saw one of the victims in a bar, and proceeded to follow her home. He then used a fake gun to force them to submit to his depraved desires. This begs the question: if the killer was carrying a fake gun on his person, then why wasn;t he carrying a roll of duct tape as well? Would this be too difficult to conceal? |

Just saw the movie The Big White. I'm supprised that this wasn't discussed at much greater length (excelent scenes). Or maybe it was and I just missed it. But I love it when an actress (holly Hunter) gags herself in a causal way |

Thanks for providing an intelligent analysis and not getting upset. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, just found the juxtaposition funny. It appears this to be an unplanned occurrence in tying up the ladies. Had to use what was available. I personally don't think the producers gave it that much thought. Did whatever would look good on 60 seconds of tv. Not what would make sense. Reality and tv don't always coincide. |
Sunday February 10 17:58:29 2008 Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation |
Reporting back from SF Indiefest, as requested... This one was fun. I've added a DB entry. Didn't quite dare to grab a photo or two with my cell, but with any luck, it's on track for an eventual video release. |

Sunday February 10 18:48:39 2008 The Kidnapping |
On LMN (Lifetime Movie Network) right now, is a movie called "The Kidnapping". At the 12' mark when the mother goes to her vehicle, she finds an envelope with several polaroids of her daughter. The daughter has her hands bound behind her as she is setting on a bed. Around the 40' mark, the babysitter and the daughter are both seen on a bed. Both are setting against the headboard with their legs bound with their hand behind them. No gags. Babysitter manages to get loose, but are caught again. Only saw them put the daughter in a room, but only lock her there. Not sure about the babysitter since it still is on. Repeats at 8pm tonight after this airing right now. |

She has a bag over her head and her hands cuffed behind her as she is lead to her house. She is then seen setting on a chair with her hands cuffed behind her. Amy Carlson plays the mom I believe. |

And don't ask why, but the movie is in the IMDb under the title "Black Friday." Therefore, courtesy of someone near and dear to all of us, it's in our database now under the same title with an "AKA" added. |

Sunday February 10 20:59:38 2008 Forgetting Sarah Marshall |
Has anybody seen the red band trailer for the new Judd Apatow movie, Forgetting Sarah Marshall? There's a scene where the main character Jason Segal is having sex with Carla Gallo (from Undeclared), and she keeps saying "Hi." When he asks her to stop, she cutely asks "Do you want to gag me?" He replies, "...Kind of, now." The likelihood of an actual scene here is practically nil, but I mean, it's a Judd Apatow movie. You ought to be going to see it anyway. http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1800714 |

Sunday February 10 21:32:34 2008 Grammys - Cirque du Soleil |
Tonight on the Grammys Cirque du Soleil performed a Beatles song and the lead woman did some acrobatic dancing holding two ropes. Throughout the performance she wrapped the ropes around her arms and body while swinging around. I've noticed this type of bondage imagery in Cirque du Soleil's performances, and while it's not really legitimate bondage, it still looks great on the super-fit female acrobats. |

Sunday February 10 21:34:21 2008 Los 5 Magnificos |
Just was watching Univision with this circus type show was airing. At 9:30pm est, Liz Vega is in one of the groups and she and couple of females have two strips of white tape criss-crossed across their mouths. A couple of seconds and is meant as a joke on them performing with out talking. Show starts at 8:30pm. For the collectors since it is not DID related. |
