April Fools Day
There's an embedded trailer at the link for the remake of April Fools Day. Near the 1min 40sec mark, you see one of the actresses tied to a chair (wrists bound with white rope to the arm rests). It's a blink or you'll miss it scene. Just be aware that there is a putz in the same scene.

Van's Vidcap Vault Update
I've updated the Van's Vidcap Vault.

Selections include:

Hodet over vannet (Lene Elise Bergum),
Head Above Water (Cameron Diaz),
Dark Justice - Playing the Odds (Carrie Ann Moss),
McMillan & Wife - The Fine Art of Staying Alive (Susan Saint James),
Profiler - Learning From the Masters (Ally Walker).

These particular selections were updated to the original VVV site the week of August 31, 2001, and can still be seen there (in all their bandwidth-restricted glory) at

Once I started deleting all of these > that appear before each line of the message I'm replying to, I've never again had difficulty posting replies. I can post as short or as long a message as I want and I get no messages griping about Top Posts, shortening my message or anything. Easy solution to the problem I think.

Empowered (comic) news
It's been mentioned here before, but the new volume of Adam Warren's "Empowered" hits stores on March 12. The bad news is that deadlines have forced him to make some changes to a story of two. The good news? Here's Adam himself:

"To be honest, the ensuing, "meta"-heavy story adds rather more "damsel-in-distress" content to the volume than I'd initially planned, as Emp once more goes undercover as "Sexy Librarian" bait for a possibly supervillainous poltergeist that-- this may not entirely surprise you-- knows how to tie a knot. I'd rather have ladled on the sex with "When Titans Fornicate" than added another bondageriffic story, but what the hell, deadline-challenged beggars can't be choosers."

Gee, I guess we'll have to deal with having another "bondageriffic" story. Here's the full scoop as well as a nice shot of the cover to the story.

Circumventing the automatic checks for correctness
subjects your posts to deletion. I'll be watching
carefully.

Re: AOL video
I don't have to tell you I've been guilty of that myself. Its just that sometimes what the original poster had to say (or ~portions~ of what they have to say) is/are really germain(not sure on correct spelling) to the reply....
Maybe from now on I'll just do it like this .
delete the entire original post and just post my reply and hope readers can fill in the blanks

Well, I use the same mechanism to post that everyone
else does. Yeah, sometimes you think everything is
important, but really you just need to link the reply
to the previous post.

Flash Gordon gag scene
Flash Gordon just popped with a really wild-looking breather/ball gag. I wasn't watching the show, but I had it on in the background, and one of the show's female characters was wearing it. Nice long closeup, it looks kinda like a strap ball that has had a pump from a breather gag put in it. There are also some head clamps. Popped shortly after the 45 minute mark.

The show typically reairs around 11 pm. If anyone was actually watching the show (as if!) maybe you'll know what I'm talking about. I don't.

No further scenes i nthe last 15 minutes of tonight's ep, but it is the first of a two-parter so maybe more next week. And I wasn't watching the show with anything like my full attention so I may have missed one or more earlier scenes. I checked my local sched and the show does reair at 11 pm EST tonight on SciFi Network.

Pony Soldiers Alert
Just noticed that Pony Soldiers will be airing on AMC and not TCM. Still day and times are still correct, except on the wrong channel.

The episode is "Revolution". It doesn't start for me for a little more than an hour, but I'll *definitely* watch *this* episode. So far "Flash" has been very disappointing (& I'm a life-long SciFi fan). They're trying, but there's no way to do something like "Flash Gordon" on a shoestring budget. Hawkmen are bodybuilders in leather capes who flap their arms and go "Kaw! Kaw!"?? Ming's guards are wearing standard US Army kevlar helmets, and the prop guys didn't even *try* to disguise them? The writers, cast, and crew are trying... but GEESH!

ANYhoo... is the gagged damsel in question one of the series regulars? Baylin (Karen Cliche)? Dale (Gina Holden)? Aura (Anna Van Hooft)? Or was it a guest star?

Spring Break (Season 4, Episode 20)
Just noticed on Van's site. Will correct in database. Not sure if Fall Guy will be released like Emergency (one season per year). If so, this will be on DVD in another 3 years.

Yeah, I watched the first eight eps or so, but I got sick of both Earth and Mongo looking so much like Vancouver. Because they were. At least Southern California had deserts and mountains and oceans and jungles and temperate forests all within close range so you could get an approximation of varying locations. But all of Vancouver is temperate forests and it looks it. Pluse all the other problems. (Kaw! Kaw! Man that was pathetic.)

I don't know. I just caught the scene out of the corner of my eye, then I was grabbing for the VCR controller, then I hit "Play" to make sure I didn't have a good scene already in the VCR which would get taped over, then when I saw I didn't I hit "stop" then the red button for "record" only it was the red "power" button not the red "record" button so I shut the VCR down, so I hit "power" again and then the red "record" button only -- once again! -- it was the "power" button I'd hit so I had to go through the cycle again. I was glancing at the screen as I did this but not really watching it and by the time I was all set to record ... the scene was over. And it didn't reappear. And I never really saw who the damsel was. I'm not even sure the thing in her mouth was supposed to be a gag. Sure looked like one, though.

Don't let's pretend I'm the only one who ever did this.

circumventing the system
Well if the system that I'm guilty of circumventing made any sense at all I wouldn't have to do what I've been doing on pratty much every reply I've ever posted on this page. Plus, it's just so darn easy to avoid the "auto Checks System" that after awhile It's like, why not? Why beat my head against a wall dealing with warnings about Top Posts and percentages and blah blah blah when I can just delete all those arrows and move on. I normally don't post here that often anyway so you need not worry your pretty little head about me circumventing your system and causing unimaginable chaos as a result. All will be well in Brianland. I whole heartedly apologize for my blatant disgregard for forum rules, and as I leave for how ever long that I'm banned that all will heed Mr. Brian's warning about circumvention as you would hate to be the one responsible for Brian closing up shop all because of something as minor and harmless as deleting a few these little guys when replying to messages. >>>>> So long!

Very very interesting way to gag her and to make her drink the tainted water. Glad I stayed up for the repeat.
I can see why you were flustered in operating your VCR remote. The lady plays Aura's long lost mother.
