That does sound . . . interesting. Perhaps some investigation is in order. Leo. |

It really was throwaway television back then. Hero and heroine were fully wrapped and put in upright Egyptian-style caskets. Damsel was first seen with bandages already covering her mouth, so her only lines were "mmmphs". Hero escaped and rescued her. Nice scene. |

What about the scene in "Young Sherlock Holmes" where the female lead, an attractive adolescent, is kidnapped by cultists and is shown being mummified? |

Tuesday December 12 12:36:28 2006 Miami Vice |
Did anyone see the movie Miami Vice (2006) in theaters? Y'know, the one with Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx. I did - and the only "interesting" thing the movie had was a tie-up/blindfold scene for Naomie Harris, a good-looking black lady playing Foxx's love interest. I didn't find anything on the DB, so here it is. I don't want to put it on the database, because I want to see the Unrated DVD. According to the IMDb, the Unrated edition also has a tie-up for Gong Li (see "alternate versions" on Miami Vice).
Naomie's character, Trudy, was knocked out by the bad guys near the end of the film and ended up bound hand and foot on a chair with white ropes - wrists tied on the armrests, ankles tied on the legs of the chair. There are bruises and wounds on her face, and she was barefoot (if I remember correctly). One of the bad guys blindfolds her with a white cloth (why didn't he cleave-gag her instead?) and ties a "noose" of cables around her neck, which is connected to a bomb. No gags. Scene lasts for five minutes. Foxx and his team rescue her, but then something happens to her (no spoilers!) and we never learn her fate, not even when the movie ends. Here's what I found on the IMDb, on the additions the Unrated Edition has on the movie: # A 1 minute scene after Crockett and Isabella leave the shootout, she hits and punches Crockett while he's driving. The car skids out and he ties her hands up. # A brief shot at the safe house when Crockett cut Isabella's hands free Hmmm... Interesting! :) |

There is an episode on "Laverne and Shirley" were Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams are wrapped in a spa and are effectively mummified unable to free themselves leading to humor and smart cracks. However heads are not wrapped thus will not qualified for "full treatment" |
Tuesday December 12 15:36:37 2006 Speaking of Gong Li... |
Just finished reading the novel Hannibal Rising, which has a scene where Hannibal Lecter's Asian stepmother is kidnapped and bound and gagged. After I finished reading the novel I went to the cast listing on the IMDB, expecting some unknown Asian actress to play the part (since most of the cast is relatively unknown), only to find that Gong Li is playing the part!!! Of course, there is the chance that there will be no scene in the movie, or there'll be one, just without the gag, but Thomas Harris himself wrote the screenplay, so keep your fingers crossed! |
