SWEET GWENDOLINE!! You turn your back on Brian's Forum for a few hours... & LOOK WHAT HAPPENS!! :-o

This must be from "The Road Not Taken" (10.13), which won't air in the US 'til... March? I don't remember when STARGÅTE SG-1 starts up again on SciFi. Anyway, it'll resume with episode 10.11 ("The Quest-Part 2"), then 10.12 ("Line in the Sand"), then...

"The Road Not Taken"--An accident sends Samantha Carter to a parallel reality, where the Ori are attacking Earth.

Hmm... I think I'll watch. :-)

A post made earlier today...it showed Amanda Tapping being held hostage by some guy, and she is sporting a very nice dark cleave gag, and the subject line says "SG1" so it must have been from some episode of Stargate.

WOW!!!

That looks like an awesome scene!!! I'm usually a gag snob (like most of us) but this looks so damn sexy. I have to check this scene out. It might replace the Charisma Carpenter "Some Assembly Required" scene as my all time favorite blindfold sans gag scene. Then again...sexy Charisma in a cheerleader outfit tied down and blindfolded while helplessly pleading is very hard to top!!!

I'm off to research!!!

As I recall, that had to do with same-day events, as
in the plot points reported by East/Central viewers.
If Westies want the advantage of hard information on
scenes, they have to suffer the possibility of
spoilers.

This is a different situation, discussing far in
advance. However, it's "buzz", and we get that all
the time, who coming and going on shows.

I already get accused of micromanaging, how much
thought do you want me to put into allowable spoilage?

People have traditionally posted "breaking" alerts, ones
where there's little time, here. That's because most
readers don't check Alerts as often, and there's no
reliable way to let people know there's a near-term
update.

No other alerts should appear here. I notice there's
one "possible". Those are typical too, because it
allows others to comment on it and possibly confirm
or deny the alert.

Feel free to point out any others you feel don't fit
the above and I will rule on them.

Yeah, it does not suck, unless you're a gag snob. The film is "Swindle" (2002/USA). The DB entry pretty much covers it, and I'll toss it into tomorrow's update.

Yep. If late-breaking clips are of interest, complaining about posting details to Discussion seems counterproductive.

Re: "24" outlook remains iffy
Concerning the 24 possibilities, I would say that the most immediate potential lies with Missy Crider. It was somewhat telegraphed that the Darren character intends to use her as leverage to convince someone to help the terrorist Fayed.

At least, that's what *I* got out of it.

Well... none at all, I thought that was the point.

Given that what we're here to discuss are scenes that, generally speaking, involve crucial plot points to a TV show or movie, I'd have thought spoilers pretty much had be part and parcel. Thus my impression that we're in read-at-your-own-risk mode. I'm sure we've spoiled developments in more than one TV soap opera over the years.

Anyway, I'll refrain from further references to possible scenes on shows that haven't aired yet.

Re: Saw 3
The DiD in question is Bahar Soomekh who people might recognize from Crash. Anyway, she is tied wrists and ankles to a chair and gagged with a red scarf which she manages to work off herself. Neither a lenghty or great scene, but she's pretty hot.

The naked AOH woman who is in desperate need of a blanket is Debra McCabe and there are a few photos on her IMDB page.

Dina Meyer also gets put in a contraption with her arms out to the side which I mention only because I know Dina Meyer has her fans around here.

Yes, was thinking the same thing. Whenever a female turns up who's helping someone who's helping the terrorists, they always get whacked.

Last year's example would be Lynn McGill's drug-addicted sister, whose boyfriend was helping the terrorists and they both wound up bound, gagged and killed. Same deal here, as Crider's boyfriend is delivering triggers for the nuclear bombs. I'm sure the terrorists will just pay him his money and let them drive off. Maybe he tries to back out and gets the phone call...."I have someone here you might like to talk to."

Actually, Brian singled out mine:
***** No other alerts should appear here. I notice there's
one "possible". *****
Relating to "Fame" show & "Brigade du crime" really "SoKo Leipzig" show?

I know why. This common. The eps our friend LV favoured are up for VHS machine alerts (one in Homepage)
Problem being, the "Nia Peeples trapped in building with bad guys" with no ep Title given, that now know "Nia Peeples was in the school late and caught some vandals in there." Scene creep, etc
Or, those clips (Youtube?) with only "Soko", or "German TV". Have to ID first, then figure out the translated title.

If Buddy checks alerts & sets his VHS machine gambling on a show I unfamiliar with (Fame), when Kevin W down there in the US is alerting to US soaps (Days/Passions) and gets neither- Comes home from work and gets irate.
But say goes with the definite
and the Nia Peeples scene was accurate- then he "could have had one to trade the other for and got both!" Gets irate
Understand can be frustrating.

Posting in general here appeared a good solution. In a sort of GM style "future considerations" way. See the US alert- get that for anything coming up on Fame, or Soko.
Whilst Peter and I run around trying to figure the translations.

If you have a better solution? I'll try and implement it

I disagree with the completely hands-off policy you're suggesting. I'm fine with spoilers and plot-related details coming out when an episode first airs (or shortly beforehand). But the 24 post was talking about the death of a main character set to happen "mid-season", which is months in advance.

Given that shows like 24 are very popular and there are undoubtadly many people (myself included) on this forum who watch the program because we enjoy it (rather than solely for any DiD scenes), it would be nice if people attached a quick spoiler warning to posts discussing episodes that aren't due to come out for several weeks or months.

Publically available information like TV guide descriptions are fine ahead of time, it's just posts releasing information that reveals major plot points in advance irk me.

Longshot: Buffy-- Season 8?
Here's something for someone with some free time right now (I'm at work) to take a look at.

It's an Australian fan-made episode from "Season 8" of Buffy, called "Forgotten Memories."

Watching the first minute or so, it seems to be of unusually high quality, and if one is to believe the information posted at the site, it actually played at a theater in Sydney last fall, with a few Buffy cast members in attendance. There are also positive quotes about it at the site, including one from Whedon himself.

Now, as I say, I haven't watched it yet, and have no specific information about any scenes in it, but the Buffy series wasn't completely devoid of them, so it's probably worth checking out.

We saw some commercials for scenes, including a puppet-type scenario.

Also, regarding spoilers, we found some for a couple of your favorite shows. They sound promising, but we won't give away the details.

May I get a clarification. What if you have a confirmed alert, you know the show and you know there is a DID in it, but maybe that's it, and you don't have all the information, e.g. time of day and/or exact date?

Am I correct that that would fit into the "possible" category and be permitted on this page?

Jeff,
I have a possible alert re this,
(Amanda Tapping dressed same & appear same guy?)
but as said my earlier post like to keep alerts off this page much as can.

If you're familiar with the show?
Can we discuss this over on Database Corrections?
It'll be under "La Porte des étoiles" - "Stargate" alternative title, and we'll figure where at.
Thanks

Re: Alerts in Discussion area
Personally, I decided to only post alerts for shows that was just aired on the east coast so that the west coasters are aware of any scenes. These typically only have 2 hours notice before they are reaired on the west coast.

I started to now only post alerts on the alert pages that would occur with no less than 24 hours notice. All other shows that are to air with less 24 hour notice, would not be posted. Somedays I just wonder if it is worth to post anything. It never fails that someone will miss an alert, and then blame the poster no matter when or where it was posted.

Shiny! Thanks Jeb. I am, as everybody probably knows by now, an irredeemable Whedon fanboy, but I'd somehow missed this.

I may not get a chance to watch until tomorrow, but I'll definitely check in with a DiD-yay-or-nay unless someone beats me to it.

Who's on Database Duty?
I saw the TV listing entry for "Demons From Her Past", the new Alexandra Paul movie on Lifetime that premiered Monday night (the 22nd), but I didn't watch. The next day, I saw the relevant entries on the Discussion page. I just checked Alexandra's Official Website (http://www.alexandrapaul.com), & found the behind-the-scenes photo below. I also checked the dBase for the full details, and guess what!

It's Thursday... and there's NO DATABASE ENTRY!

Anyone who watched the movie, posted comments to the Discussion Forum, but DIDN'T paste the info into a dBase entry, put out your hands! Do it!! {WHACK!!}

C'mon, people! This isn't gonna work if we don't all carry our fair share of the load. :-\

If you absolutely can't find it by searching one of
the online TV guides (which seems to be a mystery
to many here) then you couldn't really post an alert,
so yes, here would be the place.

I have this episode. If someone wants to provide space for it, I can clip out the scene and make it availible.

I'm not pointing my finger at any one person. This is an ongoing problem. "Silent Hill" slipped through the cracks for months. People posted the details to the Discussion Forum from preview screenings... but the DVD was out before anyone bother to make a dBase entry. :-/

If you check back in the Forum to where the gagged Sam hit the fan (so to speak) you'll find a URL to an avi file of the relevant scene. In other words, it's already available, but it *is* the thought that counts. :-)

Not only that, but there was really no DiD content that would have necessitated the spoiler in the first place. This was another case of people getting carried away with a lot of aimless wishful speculation. Do we really need that to begin with?
It's not like we're not getting a good deal of new scenes (and great teasers like the Tapping photo) that we need to go looking months in advance for the slightest glimmer of a possibility.
Just let whatever will happen, happen. If we get a scene, great; if not, move on.

to Pat Powers
I think it was Pat Powers who a few weeks ago was saying how much he enjoyed Jim Silke's graphic novel (comic book)
"Bettie Page Queen of The Nile."
I may have missed it if someone else pointed him in this direction, but he'd like, or you would like Silke's "Rascals In Paradise.
This one has a fun story with jungle girls, spaceships, ray guns, and rope and gags, more then in the Bettie story.
I hadn't looked at my copy in a while but a quick check reminded me Silke knows how to women in a style I like. Hope other folks have checked it out.
I know Bud Plant sells copies of it.

Not specifically, but you can search IMDB by character name, and that will give you all the titles, which you can then cross-reference with the database.

See Attack of the Robots in the database. It's an Eddie Constantine movie that's just like a Lemmy Caution movie, only the character has a different name.
