Angles were inconsistent and the woman meets a grisly end by being frozen to death with cold chemicals while still AOH. I dont think the attractive persian woman was bound. |

Yes, the "attractive persian woman" (I think, assuming it's the doctor) was bound and gagged. Pretty decent scene, albeit kinda short.

Wednesday January 24 02:16:38 2007 TTT updated with Part Two of Pole Bound Gallery & more stories |
If your friendly webmaster seems a little cranky today, look no further than the fridge to find out why… no beer, no coke, no… boo hoo! The good news though that my new diet/exercise program is going well -so far - although Priscilla (TTT’s mascot kangaroo) has been busily trying to sabotage my good work – poor Pris can’t understand why she has to join me… She’s even resorted to raiding the local Safeway bottle shop for more – amber – supplies, which I’ve gotta return before they call the coppers… Geez, life’s tough! On happier subjects, you’re welcome to crack a coldie or two (just don’t tell me about it) before settling down with our latest update… with Part Two of our “Pole Position – pole tied” bondage gallery, “The Quiet Girl” from my pen (rainwear story) along with updated chapters of Brian Sands & Rohana’s excellent serialized stories!

Wednesday January 24 07:23:46 2007 Amanda Detmer |
Amanda has a scene in the movie. At the end she is tied to a chair and tape gagged along with her daughter. There's a bomb strapped to the chairs counting down. Some quick closeups. Also, there is a unknown woman tied to a chair and cleave gagged. Forced to play a game of chess. |

Oh, by the way, I just discovered something: a Russian video clip for the song "Balalaika" by Panaiotov.
A female security guard is captured by the two singers and ends up tied up in a chair. The guys take her hat off, then duct tape her mouth shut. It's a cute scene, although the gag is a bit unconvincing and the bonds are invisible. |

Pat Powers wrote:
> The point of the story isn't how tight the plotting is, > it's how the various characters interact. Hmmm...So that's what the social scientists mean by the term "interaction." Wow! And all this time I thought they were referring to pals getting together for good conversation over a couple of cold ones. Even so, Wallace's ability to depict "interaction" gets a score of 2.4 from the East German judge. All the other judges are lower. > But that's what script doctors are for. And actors and actresses can make words seem amazingly lifelike when they speak them, I hear. Maybe, but the script doctoring needed for this project would be less like an outpatient visit and more like major surgery. As for actresses: as you say, taking on the role would be a real challenge. But good actresses don't take on bad roles as challenges. They take on good roles. So the script has got to be there. Consider who the really talented actresses are these days (forget about the '70s timeframe, when the project was first being considered). I mean, the gals whose ability to not only look good but sound real, too; who would help lift this role out of silly slime and into serious dramatic confrontation. Do we really believe they'd be willing to take the part? I'm not talking Daneen Boone, here, folks. If they tried doing a "Justine" version of "The Fan Club," it would bomb in a nanosecond (your reference to "Stealing Candy" is confirmation!). > it's just amazing how much a really, intense, raunchy bondage scene can make up for bad dialogue. Yes, well, I can't argue with that where hentai is concerned. On the other hand, the producer of a hentai animation doesn't have to hire actors and actresses, either. Verisimilitude isn't a necessary condition for hentai. > Methinks the mainstream doth protest too much. To hear > 'em talk, they don't like bondage, sex, nudity or > hoochie-koochie dancin' neither. God, it's been a long time since I did any hoochie-koochie dancin'! As for being cynical...you? Nah! Me...sure! > I heard there was never a film made about it, because > when it was in development, there were several recent > high-profile cases of abductions of starlets by stalkers I'd heard that, too, from some friends in the business. But I also heard that the project had never gotten very far along before it was canned. Still, the possibility suggests a really entertaining activity. Imagine "The Fan Club" as directed by any of the following: 1. Pedro Aldomovar (Which role would Antonio Banderas play?) 2. Alfred Hitchcock (The DiD would have to be a platinum blonde, yes? Tippi? Kim?) 3. Sergio Leone (most of the film would be shot looking at people's eyes. And before she shoots off the guy's nuts, she'd trap a fly in the gunbarrel!) 4. Robert Altman (multiple streams of simultaneous dialogue--if only there were dialogue!) 5. Stanley Kubrick (imagine the score!) 6. Martin Scorcese (each of the male characters would have to have ties with the mob; and maybe the DiD would, too) 7. George Lucas ("I have a bad feeling about this....") 8. Steven Spielberg (we're thinking Devil's Tower as a metaphor, here, right?) Fun stuff! > You don't think the success of "Urinetown" has > paved the way for female leads in bondage?> No, actually, I don't, personally. But I'm open to being convinced. My guess is that Urinetown succeeds because the bondage itself is incidental. They coulda kept her in a cage, and the songs and dances would have made the show. Having her bound and gagged adds spice and provides many more wonderful opportunities, for sure, but the storyline isn't what makes this particular musical work. Actually, there are very few American musicals whose success is based on the script's storyline as much as the songs and choregraphy ("West Side Story" is surely one, but they had "Romoe and Juliet" for a source, and you can't do any better than that; maybe "Les Miserables" is another example, but again they had Hugo's novel, and the East German judge gives that one a 10.0!). Most musicals do their thing with minimal plot, but really good singing and dancing that emerge from what we understand as the characters' motivation, their personas, their..all right...interaction. (Like "My Fair Lady") The problem with "Fan Club" is that it has not only has no coherent plot that sustains interest ("gal gets kidnapped, gal gets raped, gal exacts her revenge"...that's it), it also has no 3-dimensional characters, no real interaction, and no meaningful dialogue. It would all have to be invented from scratch--and then songs and dances developed on top of that. You know...I suppose it could be done. After all, wasn't "Cats" a big money maker? Never saw "Stealing Candy," just the relevant BnG clips. But my guess is you're right about the parallels. Now, Pat, my friend, just where do you go for that hoochie-koochie dancin'? Dannysuling |

There was another "talking about it" scene where she discusses how he "duct taped my hands and mouth," but in typical Passions fashion, no one checked the closet thoroughly. They just gave it a cursory glance and assumed the bad guy wasn't in there (but he was). At the end of Tuesday's episode (U.S. version), the bad guy was found mysteriously unconscious in a room and they were about to unmask him. My guess is the bad guy knocked out the cop hero Luis and dressed him in his clothes and burglar mask to frame him, and of course the Passions gang is just stupid enough to fall for something like that. The bottom line is it looks like the bad guy is still lurking around causing trouble IMO, and I bet he'll get Fancy in his clutches at least one more time. But who knows when, since they've been dragging this storyline along for quite some time now. |

Wednesday January 24 12:10:30 2007 "24" outlook remains iffy |
OK, we're five hours into the new season, and all we've got so far is an FBI arrest scene with invisible handcuffs.
Now, the buzz seems to be that Kim Raver will NOT be returning to the show at all, and that Audrey will die offscreen around midseason. I guess I'm pinning my dwindling hopes on Regina King (in a real scene, please) and/or Marisol Nichols, either of whom would be more than welcome. And while I don't dismiss the milf-y appeal of Jayne Atkinson, she's unlikely to find herself out in the field anytime soon. |

Hate to complain but I'm noticing a lot more alerts on the discussion page than the vcr (or dvr) alerts page in the last couple of weeks; what is the deal with that? I'm not talking about movies but TV shows.
Normally it wouldn't be a big deal but considering the large volume of posts on the discussion page vs. the alerts page it's a lot more difficult and time-consuming for someone with little time on their hands (online) to check all the alerts this way. Nothing too much in "Trade," despite a "based on a true story" white-slavery premise that cried, no, pretty much bawled out for it. I counted four handgag scenes, but that's all. Bit of a shame, since the two lead actresses are drop-dead gorgeous.
Amazing film nonetheless. Raffish says, go see it when it comes out. |

Fear not, lovers of Audrey/Kim Raver!
*************SPOILERS************* READ NO FURTHER IF YOU'RE A FAN OF THE SHOW Yes, it has been said that Audrey will die offscreen this year. But why have her die OFFscreen? Many spoiler sites indicate that Jack will discover she is still alive, but being held hostage by the Chinese to bring Jack out. The writers probably revealed her dead so Jack could go crazy and shoot everyone up like he did in season one when he was told Kim died. So there's hope for a scene afterall. |

The story was that she told them she would either do the bondage or have the spiders put on her but not both. She let them decide and they went with the spiders instead of the bondage.
