| Monday February 05 00:01:44 2007 No Desperate Housewives tonight |
| Another repercussion of the Super Bowl is that ABC decided not to air "Desperate Housewives" tonight so as not to try to compete with it. That's stupid. The people who watch "Desperate Housewives" are not the same people who watch the Super Bowl. They are two completely different audiences. Generally, women watch "Desperate Housewives" and they do NOT watch the Super Bowl. If I was in charge of ABC, not only would I show a brand-new episode of "Desperate Housewives", but in order to draw in male viewers I would show an episode where Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, and the other ladies of Wisteria Lane encounter an armed burglar who interrupts their weekly card game, orders them at gunpoint to remove their shoes, and then hogties and gags them. The ladies struggle helplessly against their bonds while arguing through their gags about who is going to try to untie whom first. |

| Haven't totally examined my tape yet so I'm not sure if the kidnapped wife is dead. While the geeky guy is definetly being held a prisoner, I'm not sure if the hot blonde is also being held prisoner. In other words what I'm hoping is that on Wednesday's episode we'll find both blondes B&G. |

The checked the videotape later in the episode. I think the promo for Wednesday showed the blonde cop with the others, so I think she's free and clear, although she likely got bitten when the dogs attacked her. |

| Fox has begun airing promos for its new series "Drive", which features the hero searching for his missing wife (played by the twice boung and gagged Amy Acker) during a cross-country race.
Lifetime also has a new series, "Bloodties", about a woman who gets involved with vampires. The premise has potential. And the Sci-Fi channel wil re-air "Special Unit 2" begining Friday. |

I have the scene from "The Wraps", but back when it originally aired I only received UPN off-the air and the reception wasn't good. It'll be nice to get a clean copy. "The Wraps" airs this Friday and, yes, I posted in the Alerts Page. It's good to see SciFi getting back to airing rare science fiction series like they did 7 or 8 years ago when they had series like "Land of the Giants" and others in their lineup. For years, it seemed like the only thing you could watch on SciFi were reruns of SG-1, X-Files, and REALLY bad original movies and reality series. More may be on the way. SciFi also purchased the rights to other stillborn UPN series like "All Souls", "Level 9" and "Wolf Lake" that all produced excellent scenes. |

Last year to my great delight, I got hold of a VHS copy of the movie from Amazon France and although I'd distinctly remembered it as black and white it is apparently in colour. However, since my copy is on SECAM I can only view it in black and white but it was still well worth waiting for. The title is a misnomer as she certainly isn't raped even in her own fantasy and it's the title that probably condemned the movie to obscurity. The Italian title Anatomy of an Adultery reflects it far better. The initial attack by Bruno Cremer (best known now as Maigret)on Bibi Andersson after he tricks her into letting him into her appartment is off camera and we just see her in her bathrobe bound hand and foot and gagged OTM with a white silk scarf. She's fairly soon ungagged- the film would have been a bit lacking in dialogue otherwise- and after a while untied as well. She remains unbound for most of the rest of the film though Cremer does briefly tie her hands behind her back in the kitchen so that he can eat the eggs she's cooked for him in peace. The idea is that he's simply been paid to keep her out of circulation for the day. The bonds are just a single loop of rope so with the detective gag (no packing) not entirely convincing to modern eyes but in 1968 you were grateful for what you could get. She becomes attracted to him and eventually they go to bed but not until after Andersson has had Cremer's pistol in her hands so it's definitely consensual. Cremer later leaves the apartment and there is a shot of Andersson coiling up the rope she'd been bound with and putting it away in the kitchen draw- a first hint that this is maybe a fantasy. Later Andersson and her husband host a dinnerparty at which Cremer is one of the guests and later, after Andersson and her husband have gone to bed she becomes restless and wanders round the appartment, there's then a cut to a single shot of her in a very attractive nightgown once more bound and gagged on the sofa but it's very obviously a fantasy. Whether the earlier scenes with Cremer were as well is never made clear. |

| If any of you guys are into being teased, Gwen Stefani spends the first half of her latest music video, for the song "Sweet Escape", with handcuffs dangling from one wrist, in a (rather colorful) jail cell. She escapes the jail, but the cops don't catch her, so, the handcuffs never com into play. Yay for the law. |

| I'm hard put to describe the trailer I saw over the weekend for the upcoming new Nancy Drew film: I suppose it looks more like the TV show version of "Clueless" than anything else. It looks like they're targeting the "High School Musical" audience.
Needless to say, no peril shown, and only the vaguest notion that there's even a chance of any (the movie mostly seems to center around Nancy adjusting to being the brainy weird kid in her new school), though there is a mystery involving a Hollywood actress somewhere in the background. Actress Emma Roberts is also definitely playing her age as a high-schooler (unlike, say, the cast of Buffy). Really, I think the best potential comes from secondary characters (including Rachael Leigh Cook and Laura Harring) being involved in the mystery. But, then, I'm an optimist. |

There are two that I know of, thanks to a friend in Mex. Zoraida Gomez aka. Jose (for Josefina) Lujan, B&G cleave, season 1, for some reason did not make the cut to the US. Season 2 Dulce Maria aka.
