Paula Peril: Trapped in the Flames is actually an experiment in bringing a comic book character to life faithfully on video. It's an original adventure produced by the actual publishers of the comic.

Suprisingly, the budget for the film was held to the production budget of a 32-page comic book, only a few thousand dollars.

The question is, which do people most want to see? Paula in peril on video...or in the comics?

Well, I wasn't even able to drag it off the website. Also, I'm not familiar with .smi files, but if you have a .flv file, you might be able to drop it into something like iSquint, which converts .flv files into Quicktime. Incidentally, I don't know if there's a better way, but if I want to save files off youtube, I go to keepvid.com and download the files in the abovementinoned .flv format. Then I use iSquint and I get a Quicktime file (albeit in generally crap quality — but still…) Maybe this is totally wrong, but in the off chance that it helps…

Well, sadly the actual FLV doesn't actually store into my cache. Only a url to it, which of course doesn't work. I'm trying to find a screen capture program that does a half a decent job. Still, this clip is like a dream.

Images from next weeks episode indicate that she doesn't make her call before he interupts her, and she ends up in the dark again with a beautiful strap of tape across her mouth. Hopefully the dingus will tie her hands behind her this time.

With her panties.

The Great American Snuff Film
Watched this movie tonight and while it's low budget and obviously doesn't end well for the ladies (duh...check out the title) this movie contains plenty of bondage for the pair. Duct tape gagged with duct tape around their wrists and ankles...led outside with collars and chains around their necks...led into a van and driven off to prepare their own graves...and one girl ends up tied to a chair while gagged and then...well...

It's a nasty flick...those who are squeamish ought not even attempt it. It's low budget and not really that gory, which actually adds to the atomsphere.

As for the supposed "real snuff footage" that's at the end of the movie...judge for yourself...I made up my mind.

I guess I'll have to think about these issues. I'm not
really all that inclined to make any basic policy
changes at this time.

Yes, that's understood. But is mainstream as it's been
defined for this site? That is the question.

The clip you currently have as your featured picture on your homepage is from a telenovela called "Amor Sin Condiciones." I just checked and the series is currently running on Azteca America, which fortunately my cable system just picked up. Azteca America is apparently different from TV Azteca. This scene is not in the database. Do you happen to know if the scene has already been shown on Azteca America, or can I still get it if I Tivo it every day? It's a great scene!

Thanks to a thirty day trial from Camtasia, I managed to pull off a pretty decent screen recording from the NBC site. It's got a funny codec, so let me know if it gives you any problems and I'll try to use another one.

Don't trust your listings. "Amor Sin Condiciones" actually wrapped up a few weeks ago, and was replaced with "Campeones de la Vida". They made the correction to the 2pm time slot it use to run in, but forgot to tell TV Guide and fiends to make the scheduling change for the 4am replay also. So what you are being told is "Amor Sin Condiciones" is actually the rerun of "Campeones de la Vida".

When's the last time something like this happened?
-----
Just within the past 12 months: Kellie Martin, Nikki DeBoer and Kelly Monaco have had their first B&g scenes (and standout ones, at that).

Vanessa Marcil is only in her early 30's.
Fans of Elizabeth Montgomery had to wait till she was 59 for her first B&g scene ("With Murder in Mind" - 1992). Patience seems to be a dying virtue these days...

Two questions: Why exactly did Vince kidnap Sam--she had just agreed to borrow (?) a huge sum of money from him, making him her partner, perhaps with 'benefits' (not clear)? What exactly does 'Will Sam escape when the lights go out?' mean? She is in a trunk, so it is dark, but clearly the lights are on in that scene. One more question--does anything on Las Vegas make any sense?

It is truely a horrible show. The cast has basically become a joke with the scripts they endure. No wonder James Caan is leaving, and whether Nikki Cox left on her own or was booted will likely help her career in the long run. Not surprising the two leads (Marcil and Dulmall) are former soap stars. I think the AMC and GH writing was better.

We had to wait 4 seasons for Marcil to be bound and gagged, so it works out in the end. Not like we have to actually watch the show.

I think the show only was renewed because Caan and Cox are leaving. The show doesn't do enough ratings to warrant their salaries. They'll likely get some cheaper soap stars to use next season.

That may be true, but I believe, or at least IMO, the poster meant that for a production that is obviously exploitation piece there should be a little more 'bondage for the buck'. I'm sure there was a lot more footage shot of the damsel than just a few seconds worth. Where's the 'director's cut' when you need it? ;)

Nice video from Amor Sin Condiciónes on your Youtube page.
Unusual tie w/ rope wrapped around the neck 3 times.

It was discussed here a while back and played one weekend in theaters in Horrorfest. Supposedly to be realeased by Lion's Gate on DVD in late March or April (some say May). Usually, for films, imdb.com is the best source to find out about such things especially if you sign on (for free) and read the comments by fans at the bottom of the page. Everyone always asks about the release date and sometimes a few people know.

Vanessa Marcil fake
This picture is NOT from the upcoming episode of LAS VEGAS "Junk in the Trunk (pt.2)" which will feature Vanessa Marcil bound and gagged. However, I thought this might temporarily satisfy everyone who can't wait. This is a fake that Mad Dan made from a picture that I PERSONALLY picked and sent to him. It shows Vanessa in a position that is similar to the one that she will be in soon. The original picture is from an episode of "General Hospital", in which Vanessa has one of her shoes off. Also, I have provided the updated link to Mad Dan's website. His fakes are fantastic!

Yes, there is a brief scene in the new movie. Pell James, playing Cecilia Shepherd, is shown being hogtied outdoors by the killer. She's also shown being stabbed (graphically) almost immediately after, so be warned.

The movie is extremely dry and matter-of-fact in tone, but that just makes it creepier, at least in my opinion.

Downloadable Las Vegas promo
Well, it's something anyway. I had to exploit the proverbial analog hole (hey, kinky) in order to pull it off, and if someone can figure out how to do a direct conversion, I'm sure it will look that much better. (Though with any luck, it'll be a moot point a week from now.)

The sound doesn't kick in until 0:30, which is NBC's bad as far as I can tell. Or has anyone had a better experience with the original clip?

Change the ".mov" in the link to ".rm" if you prefer the RealMedia version.

Profiler it is, ep "Burnt Offerings," featuring Hilary Salvatore. I humbly recommend my search engine -- and I'm amused that our reference caps are virtually identical, though yours is from an NBC airing and mine is from CourtTV. :)
