Saturday January 27 01:52:33 2007 Cabin By The Lake |
OK, so Today I download some great clips at Raffish's.....and in the clip for cabin at the lake in the first five seconds u see one of the damsels barefooted and one foot tied to the other damsel. 2 Seconds later, you see her drop one of her heels which 2 seconds ago wasn't there....is this part of a bad order sequence while making the clip....or is it an error in the movie? |

Van posted these pics on Aug. 23rd (finally found them searching through the forums) and I was wondering if this was made into a public clip anywhere. I read on the next page (Aug. 24th) that you can download it with 'HiNetRecorder' but it doesn't seem to be working anymore. I believe the title is 'Tessa - Leben für die Liebe'. Anyone know of any clips of this? |

And the bad guys tied the girls hands in front before leaving them in a room on their own! If they were going to leave them, they could possibly have sedated them like the other girl, but if not they should at least have taken their bags away, tied their hands behind their backs and put a couple of nice tight gags over their mouths. I've searched that clip for a long time and now finally....many thanks. Particulars of clip that struck me: the sweetness look of Kate (red long cocktail-dress, her hair-style)and the contrast with hard situation: she's tying on the floor and gagged, looks like around the head, with a large piece of hard dutc tape. Particular mention for the director or scriptwriter, or both. |

During Guiding Light, an ad for "Next Week on The Young and the Restless" aired that showed a woman ('Sheila,' I presume) cleave-gagging Lauren, who was tied to a chair. The ad included quite a few shots of the gagged Lauren and also had the villainess quipping that old chestnut: "Lauren can't talk right now, she's a little tied up" to some guy over a walkie-talkie. |

Saturday January 27 14:22:59 2007 Once more it's time to play "Let's Cast a Movie!" |
Finally got done listening to the audio version of Linda Fairstein's "Entombed," and while once again my friend with the iPod and I would like to thank those of you who turned us on to it, I've got to acknowledge that the bondage was something of a disappointment, at least compared to Agatha Christie's "The Man in the Brown Suit." Not enough description of the bonds and the heroine's struggles to free herself from them in my estimation. As a saving grace, she does at least relate her ordeal in the first person. Anyway, it's a good book and I heartily recommend it. (For those of you who take me up on this recommendation, Alexandra Cooper gets clonked on the head at the end of Chapter 30, about seven hours and 13 minutes in, and wakes up to find herself bound and gagged, staying that way throughout the entire next chapter.)
But enough of that; there's nothing in this story that a good script adaptation and competent directing and production won't fix when it's brought to the big or small screen. So-who do we cast as this protagonist? In case you're not familiar with her, she's an assistant district attorney in New York City who's single (having tragically lost her fiance the day before their planned wedding a decade earlier) and in her mid-30s. Probably don't want anyone too far from that age range-oh, I'd say 40 tops. Jennifer Garner might be good, maybe Kidman if we're not afraid of going too glamourous. Blanchett would be great, but I'm not too sure about Paltrow. Fonda's really too old now, but makeup can do wonders. (One caveat; ethnicity is a bit important, for reasons those of you who've read Fairstein will understand. Making Cooper black would be a bit problematic without some serious adaptation from the books.) On the other hand, if we're talking about watering things down for network TV or Lifetime a la "The Survivors Club" a few years back, how about Lisa Rinna? That's the only name that pops to my mind right now. Which ones pop into yours? And while I'm at it, let me run another story outline up the flagpole and see who salutes. Let's say we've got a "Blair Witch Project" type of setup, where someone comes across a discarded homemade video-only this one isn't just of a day at the zoo. I don't know-let's sort of give it a "Deliverance" flavor; how about a couple on a canoe trip? They pull ashore along a secluded strech of the stream, and after setting his camera on a tripod, he begins pursuing her with amorous intent. They've done this kind of thing before so she goes along willingly at first, but things kind of go Stephen King after a bit, and she ends up dangling by her bound wrists from a tree branch...and your imagination can take it from there. Like "Blair Witch," this'll probably be an indie, so our chances of landing an A-lister are slim to none. And if our script follows...er, ah,...if it goes in the direction the setup would dictate it'll be rather explicit, perhaps to the point where the final cut will probably need some additional editing to get an R rating from the MPAA-meaning that whoever takes the role will not only have to be unconcerned about that, but not be worried about the original uncut version being released later as an unrated DVD. I'm not sure Parker Posey would still go for that. Do any other names jump out at anyone? Finally, getting back to audiobooks for a moment, I've found that Kathy Reichs' "Monday Mourning," reported here as being of interest to us, is available as a netLibrary download (and in case you're wondering, none of Reichs' other titles that have been so reported are as of yet). Would it be worth grabbing, in your estimation? |

Soap Digest recap web page says that on Friday's 1.26 episode Lauren had Sheila tied up and wanted to "leave her to die". So I guess she escapes and turns the tables. What's that about Shelia kidnapping 3 other women after leaving Lauren tied up? Have the writers been watching the Spanish soaps? |

> Found this today in the German alerts section at Robs, There's info on that page that suggests this is taken from a show titled "Feuertaufe" (typically translated as "Baptism of Fire"). There's nothing in Brian's db, and the IMDB lists a couple of possibilities from the recent past: * "Die Feuertaufe," a 1997 German film. * "Im Fadenkreuz - Die Feuertaufe," a 2000 German TV film. * "T.E.A.M. Berlin," a German TV crime series, with the first episode "Unternehmen Feuertaufe" (1998) In all these cases, though, there's no other info to help us. I can't find anything anywhere on the web to help. * "Tatort", another German TV crime series than began in the 1970s; a 2005 episode is titled "Feuertaufe." But the "Cinefacts" website's description of the episode doesn't include anything like the photos depict. Doesn't seem to be a past American film, since there's nothing in either database with the "Baptism" title, either. Of course, this could be an upcoming episode of some unnamed show, or a not-yet-released film. In which case I'm searching in the wrong places. Has anyone asked Rob where he got this stuff from? |

Saturday January 27 18:23:43 2007 Life on Mars Series 2 - BBC UK, coming soon |
The February issue of Cult Times looks forward to the second series of this offbeat cop show by way of a four page interview with the lovely Liz White..and there's a very interesting photo on the last page.
Turn to Page 33 to see Liz in some deliciously 70's style peril. Yes indeed, in what can only be a still from the forthcoming series, Liz can be seen roped securely to a metal ladder (possibly in a tunnel?), hands behind back and over the mouth gagged with a white cloth. There's a fair bit of coarse brown rope around her upper body as well. Sadly she's not in uniform, rather she's wearing a long orange coat, brown cordroy trousers a blue denim shirt and what looks like a brown cardigan or waistcoat. I will also add this Caveat, The format of the series requires John Simm's Charector to be in every scene so most likely it will be a short rescue scene towards the end of an episode. Still, we can always hope that something or someone prevents Mr Tyler from untying her straight away |

Saturday January 27 18:39:38 2007 Shocking sticker on Degrassi |
Degrassi on the Nogn network (and somewhere in Canada) though not a good show for DiD scenes had a scene in the beginning of last night's episode where Mannie, resident tramp of the show, opened her locker and displayed a shocking sticker in black on white type taped up on the inside: "Cool is a Damsel in Distress". It was prominently displayed, center camera, for about 2-3 seconds amidst all the other usual teen paraphernalia (sp?) found in school lockers. The conversation she was having with her friend (nor the episode's theme) made no allusions to it however. True her character has undergone some 'distress' over the last couple of seasons but that was mainly due to teen issues (boyfriend cheating, cheerleader drama, topless pics on the net, etc.)
Not sure why it was there but if anyone wants to witness for themselves (and grab a vidcap) they should be repeating the episode various times until Friday between 8pm and 1am EST on the NOGN network. |

Has anyone asked Rob where he got this stuff from? Danny, it was posted as an alert in the German alerts section of Rob's site. It was posted by a German contributor "lutzifer", not by Rob himself. I think the series is brand spanking new, and the title is, I am also guessing "GSG 9" - that's what the link seems to imply. If I'm correct, I would suppose that GSG 9 is perhaps a German special forces or special police unit? Re another question above about this, it would appear to premiere on 7th March, and lutzifer has also just recently added a footnote to his post, in which he states that the German channel SAT.1 are showing a "making of" special on the 6th March, which may be fruitful too, we can but hope. |

Saturday January 27 22:04:00 2007 Diana Rigg tonight! |
Forgive me if this belong on the alerts page but in less than an hour this scene is coming on BBC America at 11 pm EST.
Title: The Avengers (1961) Medium: TV Series Actress: Diana Rigg Description: Episode: "The Bird Who Knew Too Much" (5.5) Emma is surprised by two thugs, and chloroformed (slumping nicely into her captor's clutches). She is dragged to a chair, and tied to it, hands in front. A large cloth gag is tied over her mouth (and about half her face), all while she's unconscious. A gun is rigged to shoot her if the door is opened to rescue her; the bad guy tying her props her head up against the back of the chair as he leaves. When she awakens, and realizes her danger, her struggling is unconvincing, since the bondage isn't terribly secure, but we do get to watch her plight for several minutes, until Steed comes through the window to rescue her. Not Dame Diana's most stringent role, but her casual manhandling by her captors is rather sexy. |
