However, what about THIS: I am watching the "That Girl" marathon and I noticed something: In the first episode that was broadcast (the one with the bondage scene), Ann already lives in New York City. In the second episode broadcast, Ann first moves to New York City. It is OBVIOUS that the SECOND episode that was broadcast was actually the FIRST episode produced. Why would they broadcast the second episode before the first one? From a continuity standpoint, that makes no sense at all. In many shows it might not make any difference, but in "That Girl" it makes a BIG difference! The first episode produced sets up the premise for the entire series, yet they BROADCAST the second episode first. Why? Did they want to make sure to grab people's attention by showing the episode with the bondage scene first? I think it is a strong possibility. |

The network "suits", of every network, have a long history of frakking around with episode orders in order to improve the ratings. Remember how the Fox morons fiddled with "Firefly"? They wanted more Action, so they made Joss Whedon open the series with what was intended to be episode three or four, 'cause it had that great train robbery scene & would be better for the audience (in their "crfeative" opinion). Imagine, some mid-level executives at Fox telling Joss Whedon, hot off of "Buffy" *&* "Angel", how to craft a series. But then, if the "suits" *didn't* mess with things, the top executives might wonder why they're paying them such ridiculously high salaries. In any case, you're probably right about them recognizing the bondage scene as a crowd pleaser. Back then it was *very* naughty TV. (IMHO, it remains the best comedic use of bondage in TV History.) |

Sunday December 10 01:45:51 2006 Best Mummification Scene? |
Okay, my first visit to the board in like . . . a couple of years? I do regularly check the VCR alerts, however.
If this has been asked before (and what hasn't?), don't hate me, but: What are the best "full treatment" mummification scenes, wherein the gal is eveloped from head to toe? I understand that these are rarer than the "sitting in a chair" delights, but I'm sure you connoisseurs will provide me with some interesting examples. See you soon. Leo. |

Good list, but I think I'll come up with alternates in each decade: the 50s: Gloria Winter. Ten scenes as Penny in Sky King make her a quite viable candidate. I don't think anybody else is close in the number of scenes, but Irish McCalla was about ten times sexier than either Winter or Niell. the 60s: Elke Sommer. Nominated for being the first to wear a joyrope in a mainstream film. Actually, I think Diana Rigg is the 60s' sexiest damsel, but Elke is no slouch in the sexy dept. and there hasn't been a mainstream joyrope scene since if you don't count "Romance" so I thought I'd give Elke the nod. the 70s: Cheri Caffaro for the Ginger movies. Actually, Cheri wasn't all that sexy looking, or that good an actress, but she sure did have some top of the line bondage scenes. Can't think of anyone sexier that had a really wild scene to match her in mainstream films of the time. (I didn't think Story of O was all that sexy.) The 80s: I'll take Elizabeth Kaitan for her scenes in Slavegirls Beyond Infinity, Nightwish and Roller Blade Warriors: Taken by Force. Three very hot scenes. Had two nice scenes in the 90s, too. Lana Clarkson for her incredible scenes in Barbarian Queen I and II would also be acceptable. The 90s: a real no-brainer: Claudia Cepeda for her role as O in Story of O the series, a ten-part TV movie series that faithfully redoes the book, almost scene for scene. Cepeda's beautiful, and the bondage and sex are beautifully filmed. Sorta what the Story of O movie should have been. I would also have accepted Xenia Seeberg for her incredibly hot bondage lapdance scene in "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" and her seven scenes in Lexx. So maybe it's not such a no-brainer, after all. As for 2000, I agree it's premature to call it, but Chloe Hunter is going to be hard to beat for her lengthy, well-lit, bound, gagged and blindfolded scene while spreadeagled on a bed scenes. |

Of course, the scene in question is from the movie "Spun." Which I should have mentioned, but didn't so I'm mentioning it now. |

Don't know if anybody has mentioned this, but if they have, forgive me. You can see the entire episode, uncut, on the TV-Land web site. I have put the URL to the page you want below. I already checked it out and the footage we want is all there.
<rant> For my two cents, it drives me absolutely crazy when these networks carve up tv episodes and/or movies. In this particular episode, it just so happens they cut out the part of the scene with some of the best expression shots too. All of this so they could show 10 commercials instead of 9 (I was counting). Regardless of whether there is a scene or not, shows should not be chopped up like they often are. It truly makes me not even want to watch anything on those channels again. Advertising is completely out of hand, but that's another topic, for another board. </rant> |

Increasing commercials from 9 to 10 means an 11.1% increase in revenue. And that's the bottom line, as Stone Cold used to say. Also consider that most people watching syndicated reruns of older shows never saw them originally, so they don't really know whatthey're missing in terms of cut scenes and continuity. Finally, think of rerun syndication as if it were being turned into something like children's Saturday morning TV. It's there to sell product, in this case DVD's with episodes intact. |

Sunday December 10 12:07:49 2006 Kate Jackson/Dark Shadows question |
Dark Shadows is now out on DVD, but it's listed as Volume 1-25 w/o the episodes listed on the box.
Does anyone know which volume has the great Kate Jackson kidnap/handgag scene? |

The so-called "suits" can't be as bad as described, else it's hard to believe they would have jobs for very long. It's easy to pick apart what you don't like about something, while ignoring what has sustained it over time. |

But I think we have to give an honorable mention to Daneen Boone for the Justine series, Expose, and Butterscotch (which I've never seen). In the same vein, I'd give Kirsten Alfonso and honorable mention for the '80s. Also, on the subject of most-wanted but have yet to receive the treatment, my top 5 admittedly gag-snob picks would probably be: 1) Maggie Grace 2) Grace Park 3) Alice Greczyn 4) Sarah Mason 5) And the one that got away: Phoebe Cates |

Sorta what the Story of O movie should have been. ---- I might describe "Story of O, The Series" (1992) as the best mainstream production on B&D that no one seems to know about. E.g., if one goes to IMDB: * The Discussion board for "The Story of O" (1975) is pretty active, yet few posters seem to be aware of the existence of "Story of O, The Series" (1992). * "Story of O, The Series" (1992) has only one User review. * "Story of O, The Series" (1992) Discussion board has... 0 posts. * Claudia Cepeda's discussion board has ... 0 posts. :-( |

Sunday December 10 19:48:22 2006 General Hospital |
I just watched a five-hour GH marathon I recorded late last night of days Monday-Friday. While nothing showed up of Constance Towers' bound & gagged predicament on the Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday episodes, (and I think she still looks very attractive even at her age!), Tuesday's episode showed more footage of her tied to the bed. There was only one scene, at around the half-way mark, the villainess enters the room & taunts Ms. Towers. She is already tied to the bed & cleave gagged. The scene lasted a minute or two (typical soap segment), and was the only scene of her that episode. So nothing was shown of her except for this one Tuesday segment, and the one from Friday. In thie scene from Tuesday, the bad lady enters & begins telling Constance how she "Constance" got her wish, and the bad lady had been fired from her job, and with no one to take "care" of her in the room anymore, she will probably starve to death eventually.
As she was already tied to the bed, and apparently being "taken care of" by the bad lady, this situation has obviously been going on a while...at least as far back as last week sometime. Must have totally slipped under everyone's radar. Scene is still going on so more next week I imagine. I wonder how this all began. |

Executive turnover in Hollywood at the studios & networks is incredibly high. Even turnover of CEO's & VP's is high. Don't you follow the Entertainment "News"? ;-) |

Sunday December 10 22:32:45 2006 Sleeper Cell - Sonya Walger |
At the tail-end of tonight's season premier, Sonya Walger's character is seen in a terrorist hostage video bound (hands behind) and tape gagged. She puts up some valiant struggling, but meets an unfortunate end.
It's on Showtime so it's easy to catch a repeat. |

Sunday December 10 23:21:50 2006 Next week's Dexter...Jennifer Carpenter full treatment |
Tonight's episode ended with a shot of Dexter's sister (played by Jennifer Carpenter) lying out cold with her hands duct taped in front of her. Previews for next week show her with her hands wrapped in tape in front of her, her arms taped to her sides, her ankles and knees taped, and her mouth tape gagged as well as blindfolded. One quick shot has her screaming with the tape half off her mouth and the killer pulls it off with a roll of duct tape in his other hand (possibly to put a fresh layer on)
Next week shouldn't disappoint...waiting to catch the replay of Sleeper Cell in a few minutes, too |
