Saturday March 20 04:24:24 2004 Screaming Dead a bust |
Hey all,
I rented Screaming Dead tonight, even though i am tired as hell and have my concealed weapons class at 8 am i had to fast fwd through the movie. what a disapointment. there are a couple of scenes at the end with three of the women with there arm above head in cuffs. one girl is in a set of stocks with a water torture device abover her head, and the other in spread out on a table to some electro shock cuffs. a little earlier in the film a gil in told to strip and a guy puts her on one of those X racks, but she dies, so it isnt to nice of a scene. all the scenes were really short, bad camera angles, and lots of movement. not worth the rent for me, but then again i get it for free so what do i care :) if you want a couple of caps i have them from my dvd on my comp, i just couldnt get them uploaded to my website tonight. |

The ad definitely shows a bondage scene.
I think they are tied standing to some kind of sacrificial thing. The cene in the ad was very short. I almost missed it. |

Saturday March 20 11:55:05 2004 Prisionera added to the DB |
Just went through what I recorded yesterday. Hope AOH or whipping fans caught the scene. The angles could've been better, but the chick is hot. Monday's upcoming episode has some potential, as Gabriela's friend (pictured below)started a fight with a "guard" so that Gabriela's character could make a break for it.
Record number: 9924 Title: Prisionera Medium: Soap Opera Actress: Gabriela Spanic Description: Episode: 5th episode 45 minutes into the hour-long episode, Gabriela's character, Guadalupe, is tied arms overhead (AOH) with rope wearing a blue sleeveless tank top and jeans. Her top is ripped open to have her bare back taste the whip. Fortunately for her but not for us, her top doesnt slip off of her breasts. A sweaty Gabriela takes several lashes and passes out before someone comes to stop the fun. |

It didn't occur to me when I responded that the poster might not speak English as a first language. I just assumed it was from someone didn't take the time to post a clearly written inquiry. My mistake, and I do apologize to all concerned. |

Has anyone seen the new video by Probot (Dave Grohl and Lemmy)?
Full of bondage imagery, including a few ladies writhing in Japanese-style ropework. Great song, too! |

total dissapointment in the scene with M. Finnegan. Would have been nice to get her in a b/g situation as the plot line sort of called for it. i mean she was sitting in a dark room after being snatched and not even one rope or gag attatched to her. plus the fact that she was dressed to the nines in pretty business attire, heels, and tan hose, woould have made a bondage scene al the better. another good idea down the drain. |

The ladies each have one hand tied to a pole, and the other tied to her friend's hand. The preview for next week's episode showed a very brief scene in which Jennifer O'Dell seems to be pulling a white cloth off her face. Could it be a gag? Next week's episode looks promising. |

Saturday March 20 18:31:12 2004 America's Most Wanted - Scene Possibility |
One of the profiles on tonite's episode:
"Wilfred Cotaya is wanted by the New Orleans Police Department for the aggravated rape and kidnapping of a 20-year-old woman. ... ... He knocked the woman unconscious and placed her in the trunk of his car. He then drove away, stopping only once to blindfold and gag her. Cotaya then proceeded on to his final destination, his quarter-million dollar estate. Cotaya dragged the woman across the lawn in to the house. There, he tied her to the bed and repeatedly raped her over a period of six hours. " |

Saturday March 20 20:17:07 2004 Dunst No Damsel In Spidey 2 |
Figures....
Dunst No Damsel In Spidey 2 Kirsten Dunst told SCI FI Wire that Mary Jane Watson won't be a damsel in distress when moviegoers see the character back in action in the upcoming Spider-Man 2. "Even though she's growing up, she's still young and she's still got a lot to learn," Dunst said in an interview while promoting her current film, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. "Mary Jane is much more aggressive towards Peter [Tobey Maguire] in this one. She doesn't have a lot of patience for him, because he doesn't really seem to be growing up." In Spider-Man 2, Parker is too busy dealing with his own demons and fighting the likes of Dr. Otto Octavius/Doc Ock (Alfred Molina) to focus his energy on pursuing a relationship with Mary Jane. As a result, Mary Jane finds herself engaged to marry John Jameson (Daniel Gilles), an astronaut and the son of Daily Bugle editor-in-chief J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons), who was the first person to buy Peter's photographs of Spider-Man. "Mary Jane is not so much a damsel in distress in this one," Dunst says. "She's more in control of what's happening to her and she fights back. She's not scared of it all, and she's not that scared of Doctor Octopus because she's been through this kind of situation before." Spider-Man 2 opens on July 2. |

I just consulted the Scene Database, and found the entry describing this episode, in which Jennifer O'Dell is menaced by a gigantic carnivorous plant. There is no mention of her being bound and gagged, but it also states that the description is based solely on screen captures. Perhaps someone might compose a more detailed entry after viewing this episode in its entirety. |

Okay, stand by for Van to go into Anal Retentive Mode.
This latest Lost World debacle highlights an ongoing problem here at Brian's. I'm talking about: LACK OF DETAIL IN POSTINGS. If you have something to say about a specific TV show or movie... (1) Get the damsel's name right (using the IMDb as your guide.) (2) Get the title right, *including* the episode title of a TV show. Use the IMDb *or* your local listings *or* one of the several online listing sites. (3) Don't be lazy. Take the time to look up what you can. Don't assume everyone knows what you're talking about. (4) Sit up straight & eat your vegetables! Seriously folks, DON'T BE LAZY! If you have a specific question, your chances of getting an accurate & precise answer are better if everyone knows what you know (or can easily look up.) |

I think the expression has a very particular meaning to us DiD fans, which Ms Dunst may not share and the general public certainly doesn't. To most people, a damsel in distress is simply a young lady unable to cope with an adverse situation. That might be a broken-down car, a lost purse, getting soaked, or perhaps even being kidnapped and tied up. The one essential is that she needs help. There is no reason at all why a strong, resourceful woman shouldn't be tied up in a movie but be unfazed and get out of it by herself, or actively help a rescuer. There probably won't be any tie-up scenes in the new movie, but I wouldn't write them off on the basis of an actress's use of a phrase that has more than one meaning. |
