Sunday March 07 00:33:55 2004 Changes to Anything Goes |
Due to a feeling that a few posters were dominating the forum with rather repetitive messages. As such, a few highly "productive" posters have been put on limits. It is hoped that this will keep other posts from getting lost in the shuffle and promote other threads.
The limits are being applied on a case-by-case basis based solely on my personal discretion. Note that AG is still off-topic here, any followups to this message should be posted there. |

Sunday March 07 00:42:29 2004 STRIPERELLA addendum |
Just to, um, Clarify, anyone intending to record Striperella on Monday night should be aware that SPIKE TV does not always begin evening programs at the top of the hour on the dot.
When I watched a previous STRIPERELLA a couple weeks ago, it was listed as starting at 10:05 p.m. CST, but actually started sometime around 10:09 because the Pro Wrestling ran a few minutes long. Given the fluid starting times for this show, I can't say whether the show will run from 10:05 to 10:30, as it is listed on the Digital Menu. The full treatment scene occurs in the last five minutes, but I can't say when that last five minutes will be. If you're interested in taping the whole show, I'd tape from 10-10:45 p.m. to be safe. If you're interested in taping just the scene, watch for the villain to invite Striperella on a tour of his home and then roll tape. I thought I'd post this now to avoid any further confusion following the GH situation Friday. I missed all the GH discussion following my alert Friday. Thanks to Biff and the Mod for the support in my absence. If I ever commit a crime, you guys can be on my legal defense team anytime. |

Nope, it's definitely Millennium -- matches the DB and everything. I decided not to clip it, though. I always feel a bit guilty when I do that, given that you've gone to the trouble of sending it, but that scene was just too short/dark/gagless/all-around-annoying to survive the screening process. :) |

Sunday March 07 11:06:24 2004 Y&R Lauren and Kevin |
According to the update sites, Kevin (Is he a psychopath or is he misunderstood?) is going to pay another visit to Lauren this week. I have a feeling if anything good happens between these characters it won't be until the May sweeps, but it's worth keeping an eye on, anyway. |

Sunday March 07 15:22:19 2004 James Bond game? |
I just read that there's a new James Bond computer game out that includes Heidi Klum playing a scientist. Has anyone checked this game out yet to see if there's anything in it? |
Sunday March 07 15:25:52 2004 Man, oh man, am I pumped... |
...over the prospects for "The Survivors Club" on CBS tonight!. I mean, is there another actress who needs to get the whole nine yards more than Roma Downey? From the publicity shot for the movie, it's clear she's still a looker, but hey, she's going on 44. Time's a wastin', lassie...
And writer Lisa Gardner's record to date gives us more cause for optimism. Her novel "The Perfect Husband" was made into the movie "Instinct to Kill," which had a number of good scenes; although at least a couple didn't have happy endings, I felt they were worth keeping. One souce of concern is that this movie was made for cable, and with the over-the-air broadcasters nervously casting glances over their shoulders at both an angry Congress and the menacing FCC lately, the chances for the latest film may suffer somewhat as a result. Let's cross our fingers and hope not. Speaking of Gardner...not being familiar with her work, I sauntered over to the IMDb to check her out, which is where I discovered her connection to the earlier flick. From there I went to my local library's website, where I found thirteen titles by her, including the two mentioned above. Which brings us to what I really wanted to discuss. Has anyone here besides me ever read a book after it's been made into a movie, but before going to see the film, to get an idea as to what's in it? I did this with Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale"-even going to the extent of buying a copy of it-although my motivation wasn't to see if there was anything of particular interest to us here, at least not entirely. In fact, I don't even remember if Victoria Tennant's gagged-and-taped-to-the-urinal scene was in the book, but just as an aside, if it wasn't, it should have been, because that character she played was one of the most deserving I've ever encountered! I'm really debating whether to go hop into the shower and then throw on some clothes before heading over to the neighborhood library branch to at least scan through Gardner's "Survivors Club," and maybe some of her other works. If I'd had a week's warning the movie was coming up, or if it was a theatrical or premium cable release where I could either go see it at my leisure or catch a broadcast over the course of the next month , I probably would check the book out first. Oh well, I can always do it afterwards. Those descriptions sound so enticing. And it's always fun-to me, at least-to check out novels that have been made into movies with scenes, just to see if they originated with the author, and if so, how his or her treatment of them compared with the filmmaker's. I really liked the discussion a while back of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's binding and gagging of Beryl Stapleton in "The Hound of the Baskervilles" and how the various filmed versions have dealt with it-or not. Finally, let's do something I've wanted to do for quite a while, but haven't found an opportunity to before now. I'll give you an excerpt from a novel-I'll make it a brief one, Herr Moderator; spare me the jackboot in the keister if you can-and you tell me what movie was made from it. More Brownie points if you can give me the name of the novel (it's different from the movie title), the pseudonym the author published it under, and her real name. The author's description of the scene is rather generic, so it's likely no one that hasn't read at least this part of the book will recognize it. If no one gets it in a day or so, I'll post-providing mein Keister hasn't had to dodge a jackboot in the interim, of course-another snippet that'll tie it down (pun not really intended, but you can laugh anyway) a little better. Here's another hint in addition to the couple I gave you in the previous paragraph, in case you haven't read the book and want to make a lucky guess: The actress who committed the scene to celluloid is a bona fide Hall of Famer, and she doesn't use HER real name either. Okay, here we go: "-folds of ill-smelling cloth in her mouth, about her mouth, and their hard labored breathing over her, holding her jointly as she struggled frantically. Then she was flung over on her side, her wrists caught, and something rigid drawn round and round them together while the woman's hands held her-" Well, I told you it was generic. Anyone recognize it, or any guesses? |

Sunday March 07 15:54:14 2004 rawhide and b. eden |
I posted this on the alert page, but since it is more than a month away I thought I'd give a heads up here as well.
On April the 17th on the hallmark channel Rawhides Incident of Damon's Road" will be broadcasted at 3 and again 4pm Eastern time. This is the one where Barabara Eden is guest captive. I do not know which hour it occurs in so I would tape both. |

Anyone know if the initial posting was wishful thinking? So far nothing on 'What I like about you'. Would require quite a departure from the basic format of the show, Amanda and Jennie worrying about what guys they want to date... |

Sunday March 07 21:46:39 2004 General Hospital and other soaps |
Spoilers for General Hospital this week say that Zander plans to abscond with Elizabeth, Emily, or both, to Canada.
Snowcat just posted the Natalie "human bomb" spoilers above for One Life to Live. Also this week, the current 50-something lady captive (forgot her name) is supposed to be facing a water peril. On Passions, Julian is supposed to be attempting to kidnap Eve on Monday. On As the World Turns, there's a break-in at Craig's that greatly distresses him (hopefully because the intruder has to give Craig's daughter Lucy (Peyton List) her first b&g scene). She's not mentioned in any spoilers for this week so this is the biggest longshot. |

Sunday March 07 22:58:28 2004 Survivor's Club.. |
Short tie-&-gag scene in the last 10 minutes. One of the female leads (Roma Downey..yay!) ) is seen tied & tape gagged for about 20 seconds. The tape is removed and she kicks butt on the attacker. Some nice mmmphhh-ing. At the beginning of the show a goril is seen in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot tied facedown to a bed & gagged with a VERY thin cloth, and dead. |

Sunday March 07 23:05:25 2004 Re: Survivor's Club |
Well, I didn't watch it frame for frame or anything, but I did have it on while working. There was a spreadeagle bondage scene early on with an extremely thin gag, with the woman in underwear (TV naked). The edits on There were several flashbacks in the movie with brief bondage shots, but I could easily have missed a couple.
Then at the end there was a tapegag scene with a chair tie. And that's about it, otherwise I would say it was a pretty standard Lifetime style potboiler. |

Many of us have been waiting for Roma to have a such scene...so I won't complain that it was much too short. Interesting to know that Roma was an executive producer of the show. |
