I saw the preview of that setup, including the brunette shown mouthing off to the terrorist, but forgot to tape it. Wow. What a blown opportunity. |
Wednesday March 03 00:24:17 2004 Starsky & Hutch |
Nothing in the trailers, but Carmen Electra and Juliette Lewis are in this movie, which opens this week. Electra might just be eye candy in a cameo, but Lewis (a brunette in this one) is the girlfriend of the bad guy they're chasing. Hopefully, she'll turn good and get tied up and gagged. |

Wednesday March 03 01:29:21 2004 Billy the Kid |
An OK scene in the Discovery Chennel documentary. In the last 15 minutes, the sheriff and deputy break into the girlfriend's place while she's sleeping. The sheriff tells the deputy "tie 'er up". They tie her hands above her head on the bedpost and cleave gag her with a fairly loose, thick cloth gag. Then he hides behind the head of the bed and shoots Billy when he enters. In typical docudrama fashion, the same scene is shown several times. She protests as they tie her hands, and she looks terrified as he shoots Billy. I was hoping for more mmphing. |

Wednesday March 03 02:10:39 2004 TNT gets "Alias" |
TNT has purchased reruns of "Alias" for the fairly meager sum of $250,000 an episode. Apparently no other networks were interested in the repeats. Starts September 2005. |

Wednesday March 03 07:27:25 2004 Olive Oyl TG |
I only saw this on a telly in a shop window in 1967 and cursed my misfortune at not being home at the time, but does anyone remember the Popeye cartoon in which a tapegagged Olive Oyl was the subject of a tug-of-war between Popeye and Bluto?
It was evidently part of a longer scene, and I couldn't stay to see how it was resolved (gawping at a bondage scene in public, big no-no), but Olive was gagged with a rectangle of white tape. Hero and villain had hold of an arm each as Bluto tried to drag her along the street. She struggled and strained and puffed at her gag as she bounced off street furniture and was stretched around a lamp post. For a caricature, it was a very realistic gag; I wonder if the Fleischer brothers tried it on a real lady before drawing it! No doubt the accompanying mmmphing was also a treat. Anyone remember this ep? I never managed to catch it again, and it wasn't one of those repeated by the Beeb in the mid-80s. For a product of the 30s and 40s, these toons were superb, with a style sometimes bordering on the kinky and a satirical edge that still brings a smile. |

Talk about a tease, that's as bad as it gets. Not only do we not get to see Sasha Alexander gagged, but we have to endure a old-dude putz removing his gag instead.
What goes thru the minds of the people who make these shows? |

Wednesday March 03 07:51:58 2004 Upcoming movie releases |
Recently, someone posted the names of two upcoming movies with good potential for female bondage scenes. The first one was entitled "Cheer Up"; does anyone recall what the second title was?
By the way, has anyone seen the new movie "Wild Card", featuring Barbara Alyn Woods tied back-to-back with her former television daughter, Hillary Tuck? I was wondering whether it's been released on video yet; I've been scouring video stores looking for it. |

Wednesday March 03 09:55:04 2004 Re: Olive Oyl TG |
Talking of toons, I seem to remember a convention of mmmphing being enhanced, or even replaced, by a trilled note on some kind of wind instrument. Can anyone confirm this? |

According to Yahoo news/The Hollywood Reporter, among Fox TV's new shows for the Fall season: "'The Secret Service' revolves around a married woman (Sarah Wayne Callies) who works for the clandestine government agency." Sounds like it could have some DiD potential. |

---- It's something I've wondered too. I'm guessing there must be, since it'd be difficult for scriptwriters and the director to know exactly when, say, 42 minutes of screen time (for a 60-minute TV show w/ commercials) has been created. It'd also explain why (other than due to sloppiness) there sometimes is a noticeable "continuity or explanation gap" in mystery or action shows. |

---- I wouldn't get my hopes up. The TV Guide magazine synopsis is "Carmen Electra is carried off by radioactive bugs on a tropical island in this monster-movie homage." Somehow, "Bug bondage" (spiderwebs?) doesn't do anything for me. |

Not so fast, Cynicism Breath! :-) This from the film company's web site (URL below): ------- SYNOPSIS Take sexy Carmen Electra, add in a dash of TV’s Batman, Adam West and you have the recipe for Monster Island. This $3 million campy send-up of the great creature features of the 1950’s includes attacking giant ants and a mad scientist. Produced for MTV in the US, Monster Island premiers in Canada on CHUM. ------- Note the presence of the two magic words: MAD SCIENTIST!!! :-) |

Wednesday March 03 18:02:01 2004 In the Blink of an Eye (1996) |
The USA Network re-aired "In the Blink of an Eye" (1996) on March 2. A Lifetime type of made-for-TV-movie, it had Veronica Hamel investigating the (erroneous) conviction of her friend's (Mimi Rogers) murder conviction. Did anyone see it?
It's not in the Scene Database, but my recollection was when it originally aired was that Mimi Rogers had to have been seen in chains at least once in its 2-hour length. (Sheesh! I would've volunteered to be Mimi's "parole officer"...) |

Cinescape.com reports the House of Mouse is greenlighting a new live-action Fantasy/VIKING adventure movie. While we have no reason to believe the theme will be "fun things to do with & to captive Norse maidens"... we can always hope! :-) Hmm... sounds like a good way for Hillary Duff & Lindsay Lohan to bury the hatchet. Let them star *together* as Viking DiDs. :-) |

Wednesday March 03 20:28:32 2004 Kingdom Hospital comment |
I saw a commercial for Kingdom Hospital
that showed the central male character cleave gagged. Obviously not the same as a cute damsel but maybe this is a sign that there might be some damsels in distress in ropes & gags in the future. |

Wednesday March 03 20:47:42 2004 smallville very minor alert |
About halfway thru tonight's episode Chloe (Alison Mack) gets her hands taped behind her back. Very quick shot of her bound wrists with her sitting in a pickup truck and wearing a heavy coat so you don't see much. Shortly after you see her on the ground at night in the rain and can tell her hands are behind her but that's about it. No gag. And nothing for Lana. |

Perhaps you'd consider creating yet another forum specifically for flames, so that Anything Goes could be used for serious discussion. Or, create another forum for serious discussion, where "anything" would not go. And since you allowed the first post, it seemed legitimate to reply. |

It wasn't a cleave gag, it was a hospital bandage type thingy to hold in an oxygen tube or some medical thingamabob. I see no reason to think there will be any bound damsels in this. |
