Friday January 09 00:22:22 2009 ...and speaking of comic covers. |
This is one of the four variants of Red Sonja #39. It's been on sale for a monthh... so good luck. ;-) Whoever shibari'd our heroine did a pretty loosie job, but I wouldn't hang around to make an artistic statement either if a Giant Calamari-Kraken was slithering nigh. Here it is in too-big-for-Brian's size: http://www.majorspoilers.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11a/RS39Preview/RS39_cov_Rafael.jpg |

I wonder how they cast that episode? Did they ask a group of showgirls whether thay'd like to appear as extras in an episode of "Vega$", the only stipulations being they had to wear bikinis the entire time and be bound and gagged while wearing those bikinis? I wonder how much trouble they had finding willing showgirls or models? Were these showgirls or models reticent to be bound and gagged in bikinis, or were they excited about appearing on a primetime television program? I wonder whether Brit Lind, who played the showgirl whom Robert Urich was trying to rescue, was ever talked about appearing in this episode in an interview? |

Hey van, you might know this, what with your whole redhead appreciation and all. Has Red Sonja ever been gagged in any of her many comic appearances? And, if so, when? |

Either way, it was designed to compete with Mad, and my recollection is that it didn't last too long. |

"PLOP!" was published by National Periodical Publications, the company that in the late 1970s became officially known as DC Comics (before that, the company had been called DC Comics unofficially for years). National Periodical Publications had been purchased by Warner Bros in the late 1960s. Although Warner Bros now publishes "Mad", it may not have done so during the time that "PLOP!" was being published. I don't know when Warner Bros acquired "Mad". |

You can't deliver Brave &/or Defiant Dialogue if you're gagged (which is *also* a problem for TV & movie writers). :-( |

Friday January 09 21:29:02 2009 Flashpoint / 13 -- Fear is Real |
Both of these shows are on at the same time. I was flipping between both of them. Unless I missed the beginning, the scenes on "13 - Fear Is Real" all had blindfolds. The scene on "Flashpoint", is just beginning. Right now she is blindfolded and not gagged, but we know that she will be gagged (without the blindfold). |

They just showed her bound, gagged (and without the blindfold). There was a good closeup, but the gag was pulled out after only a few seconds. What is wrong with TV producers? Would it have killed them to have left the gag in. I HATE TV. I really, really hate it. The crap I have to sit through just to get a few seconds of an average scene. She is now untied but with the thing (a bomb?, I don't know and I don't care) around her neck. I currently have "Flashpoint" on without sound because I couldn't bear to fully know what is really going on. I hate TV. |

The preview for next week's episode of "Flashpoint" shows a woman being held hostage (at knifepoint) by another woman. No bondage. I don't care. Does anyone care? |

Friday January 09 23:05:14 2009 Numbers anti-alert |
No bondage on "Numbers" tonight (as usual). It was probably filled with the usual propaganda that TV is full of these days. I wouldn't know because I had the sound off. The preview for next week's episode showed (you guessed it) a hostage situation. It was even written out on the screen "18 HOSTAGES" (a bus full of people will be held hostage). Any bondage? No. Will I be watching? No. |

Wendy Crewson (Air Force One) is the damsel on Flashpoint. 13 -- Fear is Real wasn't any better. Blink & you miss it clips of chair bondage blindfold AND gag in that green "in the dark" filming. At least there was a half way decent scene on One Tree Hill this week. |
