Nice wet gag. So...was it wet because she was wearing it for so long during shooting? Or was it wet because some prop or costume person wetted it? Which brings up the question: is a gag a prop or a costume? |

In the first 5 seconds of the game you're forced to do a quest that may interest some of us - there is a skimpy dressed young woman tied hands over head (king kong style). You talk to her and have to go find the key for her shackles. The game looks pretty damn good graphic wise if you are running a good setup. Just thought I'd mention this unexpected surprise and hopefully the game has more in store :) I'll try to grab a picture but it won't be up for a day or two, cheers. |

The damsel is actress/singer Caroline Néron. Some other reports say it's Diane Kruger but after verifying myself, it's indeed Miss Néron. |

Wednesday May 21 02:28:32 2008 Karen Allen-Indiana Jones 4 |
Hey guys-Loooooonng time lurker I got to an advanced screening and just want to say-to my surprise- Karen Allen get bound and gagged AGAIN in the new Indy film. It's brief and not as good as Raiders, but it works. Karen's hands are bound behind her back while she's being transported in the back of a truck. She's constantly bickering with indy, so the Russian soldier tells her to "shut up". She doesn't so he cleave gags her with a blue cloth. What's funny is as the soldier tying the gag (which takes him 20 sec) she's still yelling at indy. Indy then knocks the guard out and takes off the gag. The scenes maybe a minute long, but I'm still in awe that see got the treatment...again. |

There's probably no universal answer, but in the British amateur theatre where I occasionally crew, ropes and blindfolds are kept on the props table and usually applied by the performers themselves. We haven't done a gag scene in the 8 years I've been there, but the gag would certainly be a prop. The annual pantomime is your best bet for a DiD scene; about 25% of panto productions I've worked on have had one. Nothing stringent, of course, in a family show played for laughs. |

I'm torn. First, thanks for the Alert. Second, "thanks" for the SPOILER. Yeah, I know there was speculation on the page a few months ago, along with reported inside info about a potential Karen Allen scene. Still, if you're gonna tout your advance screening experience, could you have at least given us a brief "SPOILER" somewhere in the beginning of the post? That's all I personally ask for. Sorry to be a crabby jackass this morning. You were just doing your job as a brainspage.com denizen and all. Guess I'm just toasted over the mediocre Shark scene last night and I'm taking it out on the first available target. Carry on. |

I am very much in blessed old USA(am not bitter...!!). For me, what works is when a mainstream actress goes through a pretty extended scene. Like KAte Hudson in Skeleton Key or Maggie in Secretary. And also note that I am counting for Naomi's scenes in Funny Games - gagging a mom while killing her boy is not my idea of DID fun !! Keeping in mind all the movies coming up, maybe this one will be the one that counts. Unless, we have someone like Jen Garner or JEn Aniston or even MAggie (we know she has a thing for such stuff) decides to wear a ring gag and handcuffs for the next Batman episode (we can dream, can we not....) |

Her Lois Lane character yeah, that was one - also the other Superman episode with Phyllis Coates... the one with the plastic figurines that had little objects hidden in them. In that one, she was tied and gagged, and forced into the back seat of a car and brought to the airport and forced into a small plane. But, the thing that really got it started for me was (this is very obscure, but, surprisingly it's in the database) the movie The Man Who Turned To Stone... an extremely cheesy, low budget release from the 1950s that I saw on a Saturday matinee at a local theater when I was a little kid. > |

Wednesday May 21 11:37:41 2008 Accelerated Bondage |
We’ve had much debate on the possibility of “no bondage” clauses in actresses’ contracts, so just for a change I’d like to postulate the possibility of an “accelerated bondage” clause. To justify this hokum, consider Natalie Portman’s CV. Leon (1994) Hand-gagged Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) Chained up by the arms Cold Mountain (2003) Tied, arms behind back (a slight stall there) V for Vendetta (2005) Head shaved, chained arms-over-head and hosed down, naked Goya's Ghost (2006) Strappado suspension, imprisoned naked in a cell, chained with and iron on her left ankle. Later arrested for prostitution and placed in iron manacles. Whatever next? |

Gag is around her neck. 36' Shown setting on the floor area of the front passenger seat. Sporting the cleavegag and hand are bound in front. No shot of the bonds on her hand and was the same as shown in previous previews. 44' Shark arrives at courtroom to find the villian. Villian has her still gagged and now you see her hands bound in front with white rope. Ungagged quickly and gets a knife held to her throat. She then ends up with her hands bound to each arm of the chair with white rope for the rest of the episode. Gag remains around her neck after being ungagged at the 44' mark. |

Since we've been on a topic related to trifectas, hat tricks and such, do we now have the first damsel to have had her wrists bound three different ways on a single one-hour TV episode? - Hands bound in front with white rope or cloth, can't tell. - Setting in chair with hands behind her back - She then ends up with her hands bound to each arm of the chair with white rope |

For those who like to hear actresses talking about bondage, on last night's episode of "Law and Order;SVU" Mariska Hargitay mentioned a ball gag three times, and Tamara Tunie mentioned it once. There were no scenes showing it in use and in fact it was in reference to a man, though. |

She's not exactly in the center of the action at the moment...though, neither was Emilie De Ravin when she showed up under unexpected circumstances last week. Probability of DiD scene: 20% Probability of killer season finale: 95% |

Record number: 1691 Title: Murder in Mind (1996) aka A Deadly Vision Medium: Movie Actress: Kristin Davis Description: A serial killer wants to kill a particular police officer. To this end, he kidnaps Kristin, and duct tapes her to a canvas chair. Her hands are taped in front, and a length of tape pins her shoulders to the chair. Her ankles are taped and she's gagged with a strip of tape for good measure. Unusual ending, but I won't spoil it for you. The action begins around the last ten minutes, and goes 'til nearly the end. IMO a top drawer scene, with a well-sealed tape gag. |

Wednesday May 21 21:49:20 2008 This and that and nothing in particular... |
...or as the police officer who arrested Pam Smart for orchestrating the murder-for-hire of her husband recalled telling her at the time of her arrest, in a television documentary a decade later: "Well, we have good news and bad news. The good news is we solved the murder of your husband. The bad news is you're under arrest for murder. Stand up, turn around, and put your hands behind your back." Worry not, mein Fuhrer, that the above should portend a desire to taste of the forbidden fruit of real-life occurrences. What I really want to talk about is "Desperate Housewives"-in particular, the scenes from Sunday's back-to-back episodes that brought its fourth season to an end. Did anyone else notice that it seemed as though either the director(s) or scriptwriter(s) made a special effort to show the bonds in two of the three scenes by having the captives' wrists bound in front? In the first scene, as Felicity Huffman's Lynette is being packed off to jail on trumped-up abuse charges, she pauses to implore the arresting officer not to handcuff her in front of her family, prompting the scathing response, "You should have thought about that before you hurt one of them." On with the cuffs and off to the patrol car, Lynette pausing briefly to gaze upward at the author of her misfortune, who stares down from a second-story window upon what she has wrought with a smile so malevolent it even creeped ME out. The clear visibility of the cuffs throughout struck me as a wonderful enhancement. Then in the nightcap, Dana Delany as Katherine falls into the evil clutches of her ex-husband. At first she isn't bound at all-but after a commercial break, the very first shot is a close-up of her heavily rope-tied wrists in her lap. Being able to see Katherine's bonds, I think, helped the director and/or scriptwriter get away with not binding Bree (Marcia Cross) when she, too is taken captive. And having the revolver-wielding ex threaten to kneecap Bree as she sat next to the wrist-tied Katherine impressed me as an effective exploitation of the latter's helplessness. Even more effective was Bree's rather protracted effort to untie her friend as things rushed to a climax. On the outside chance there are some of you who haven't watched the episode yet, I won't go into any details of how Katherine ends up sitting with her hands cuffed behind her, but I'll just note that again, a point is made of showing the cuffs as they're removed-although it appears this scene, unlike the rest, could have been implied. Maybe I'm going out on a limb here, but I can't get over believing that in these two cases and perhaps many others, the scenes were shot with the actresses' wrists bound in front to make a clearly visible point of the fact that they WERE bound. |
