Stephanie Holden absolutely getting her ass kicked by the hot blonde ecoterrorist. A gag would have made it a killer scene. Still, very nice tie-up scene. |

Thursday May 08 04:47:53 2008 Women's Murder Club |
I don't know that I saw any comments on this, but if there was, pardon me from the onset. I just got done scanning the 1.11 episode of Women's Murder Club, and there were two blink and you miss them scenes of what looked like a mother/daughter bound in chairs and tape-gagged. I have no idea who the actresses were and as I said, the shots were very quick. They were being held captive in a house by two perps, when the police crashed the place and rescued them. |

Thursday May 08 05:40:09 2008 Another La Esclava Isaura question |
Isaura's a slave, Lorencio owns her. What's to keep him from having her tied to the bed and just getting what he so clearly wants from her? I mean if he can have her gagged and collared and put in stocks and whipped, why not rape? There is LOTS of historical precedent. Is there any other reason than, "It would end the conflict between Isaura and Lorencio too easily" and thus end the prolonged humiliation of Isaura that is at the heart of every ep I've seen? |

There were a couple of scenes of well-dressed, catty women apparently saying very catty things to her while she wore a slave collar that I bet would have been fun to hear in English. Another of a woman drinking water while she was apparently denied water and very thirsty, then teasingly drizzling the water on top of her, that although it didn't involve bondage, definitely had a lesbian bondage/domination theme to it. |

Thursday May 08 12:10:14 2008 Interesting production of Taming of the Shrew |
Check this IMDB news report out: Hanks To Auction Off Theater Role To Fan "Tom Hanks is offering one lucky fan the chance to act opposite his wife Rita Wilson in a performance of Shakespeare's The Taming Of The Shrew. The double Oscar winner has teamed up with the eBay Giving Works organization and will auction off the chance to land a speaking role in the play when it airs as part of the Shakespeare Festival L.A. on May 19. The winning bidder will also get the chance to mingle with Wilson's co-stars Annette Bening, William Shatner, Zach Braff, Tim Allen, Christina Applegate, David Schwimmer and Sean Astin, and he or she will also be a part of the post-show cast party." So the question in my mind is, who plays Kate, who plays Bianca and do they do the scene where Kate ties Bianca up. I'm hoping Christina Applegate is Bianca, but I've never seen Hanks' wife that I know of so I may change my mind. Go to the homepage link and scroll down about halfway to read the story for yourself. It'll be easy to find, there's a photo of Hanks with the story. |

It surely would. Even in the original language in possibile to detect that there's a great deal of "esclava" spat in the poor girl's direction by the well-dressed women. Did you catch the scene in the kitchen where the pantomime villain, Leoncio (sp?), forces Isaura (collared and in kitchen rags) to cut his toe nails? Priceless! |

No, I didn't. Damn, this is one fine bondage/domination-fest of a TV series. I understand it did quite well in the ratings and has encouraged Brazilian TV execs to prep more telenovelas for the wider Spanish-speaking market. I wonder, though, if anyone but us understands the reasons for its success. Whoever wrote that telenovela wrote a masterpiece of plausible deniability. Makes me wonder about the book it's based on. |

The whole mysterious "I know something you don't" schtick is just a little bit High School, don't you think? |
