| What with all the hubub and relative disappointment on Desperate Housewives, this one almost slipped under the radar. I just happened to be recording on MTV and this little gem popped out of thin air. It's a commercial for the MTV Movie Awards and Orbit gum where a cute girl is bound and cleave gagged next to a bomb. It's short and the ropework was lame, but the gag wasn't too bad. I have a few screencaps and video of it at the link below. The last icon is the video. You can click on it and play it on the webpage (I just found out photobucket was allowing videos now- cool!) |

Dana was arrested later for shooting her ex (Gary Cole) and shown with her hands behind her. The police decided it was self defense and the cuffs were briefly shown being taken off. That was it. |

It ran on MTV and was mainly advertising the MTV Movie awards, but also has the Orbit tie-in. It looks like something that would mainly show on MTV up until the awards (June 1st). It might also run on other cable networks, especially ones owned by them, like VH1. It doesn't look like it will run solely for Orbit gum. I could post the entire commercial if it becomes necessary. |

The earliest one that really sticks in my mind is The Baker Street Boys: The Case of the Captive Clairevoyant which was a two part story made for Childrens BBC back in the 1970s. It probably stands out because episode one ended on a classic cliffhanger with the heroine chloroformed and carried off by the villian, and i then had to wait a whole 7 days to find out if he was going to tie her up or not. Thankfully he did. |

| For me, it is clearly Diane Lane in Untraceable. Very tight, mouth filling gag, plenty of struggle and she is gagged on screen for over 10 mins. If you can fool around with the remote, you can get all sorts of her suspended. |

I think I mentioned this a while back but Gillian Anderson was credited with the "natural hat trick" on The X-Files for two consecutive cleaves, then two consecutive tape gags, and concluded with two consecutive gags with packing. Quite a feat! |

| I've updated my blog with a short bit about Jennifer Garner's weird little gag scene in Alias that never actually made it TO Alias. Garner may have been in more different kinds of gags in her career than any mainstream actress: the ballgag scene below, one of the only if not THE only dental gag scenes on TV, a bubblewrap gag scene in "Dude, Where's My Car," a red adhesive tape gag, a silver duct tape gag, and that's about it. But isn't it enough? |
