No bonds visible as she was getting out, but possible Syd untied and ungagged her before she got out. Longshot, but this show has remained a must record each week, which I don't think there are too many that fit that category this season. |

The closest thing I've seen to bondage in a catalog was in a skirt ad, the model was shown from the waist down, and her dog had run around her legs, tying them with the leash, very loosely. |

Thursday February 10 05:59:23 2005 Men of Tomorrow |
The subject of this post is the title of a nonfiction book I'm currently reading; it is a history of the founding of the American comic book. It includes, of course a history of the creation of Superman, including a synopsis of the plot of Action Comics #1, in which a villainous female chanteuse is bound and gagged by Superman.
Also included is a history of the conception of Wonder Woman by the psychologist William Moulton Marston. According to the history, female bondage was an integral component in the conceptualization of her character and environment. Dr. Marston was apparently very cognizant of the erotic stimulus that being restrained provides for women, and consequently, nearly every Wonder Woman comic book during her early years featured a woman tied up in some way. There is even an illustration of a woman who is tied up and blindfolded and lamenting the tightness of her bonds. Dr. Marston was apparently influenced by a sorority hazing ritual in which pledges were forced to wear baby clothes, tied up by the active members, and paddled. This hazing ritual was incorporated into the plot of at least one Wonder Woman comic book. |

Sears had two catalogs each year (Summer and Fall) as well as the Christmas Wishbook and numerous smaller catalogs during the course of the year. |

As best as I can recall, and this was over 20 years ago, YIKES!, it was a summer catalog in either 81, 82, or 83. But the link below might help us locate this HOLY GRAIL. Ratstink |

Thursday February 10 11:25:15 2005 T.J. Hooker ID |
A poster here recently pointed out an additional handgag for a character named Beth in the T.J. Hooker episode that aired on A&E a couple weeks back. The poster was looking for the actresses name because his tape ran out before the closing credits. I finally got around to checking my tape the other day and her name was Corrine Bohrer, so she can now be added to the DB entry. |

Thursday February 10 11:52:27 2005 Barnaby Jones |
In relation to the Sears Catalog of models tying themselves
up;I remember a Barnaby Jones show where a female was waiting for her "accomplice" bank robber or fake kidnapper and towards the end of the show she looked out the window and saw Barnaby Jones car pull up so she laid on the bed and tied and gagged herself so that it would look like she was being held captive.Any further details on this episode? |

I think it was TNT that re-ran the series a year or two ago. |

Faster Pussycat doesn't have onscreen sex or nudity and was a mainstream release. |

Don't thank me, thank the IMDB and their principal marketing partner. By the way, if you don't want to pop for it and the local rental emporium doesn't have it, it pops up on one or the other of Lifetime's networks every now and then. At least I think that was the last place I saw it. Since it was originally made for CBS, it would make sense for Viacom, which owns both CBS and Lifetime, to have it now. |

This > hazing ritual was incorporated into the plot of at least one Wonder Woman comic book. The Golden Age (1938-1945) Wonder Woman comic books feature some type of bondage in every story. Her creator Dr. Marston was an early feminist, but you wouldn't know it by reading the stories he wrote. His personal life was a bit kinky as well. It is said that the women servants in his home went around wearing iron bracelets similar to the ones Wonder Woman wore around her wrists. It makes you wonder (no pun intended) if the good doctor spent his nights chaining his maids to a dungeon wall. Anyway-- for those who are interested in abundant comic book bondage, you can check out THE WONDER WOMAN ARCHIVES #1-4, published by DC Comics. They run about $50 each, and reprint all the classic early stories. |

WW's friend Etta Candy was a member of a sorority called "Beeta Lambda" and they were forever having initiations. You could view the whole Paradise Island/Amazon thing as a sort of sorority, and they also had their moments of restraint. "Amazon training" often consisted of running around in chains. Whenever I bought a WW comic book I used to issue my own "academy award" for the best bondage scene in the book, and there were always several candidates. Those were the days of 64-page comics, with four stories in each one. Not usually much competition in Sensation Comics, where WW only had one story. |
