Your video card is playing the video in overlay mode, so if you hit print screen you don't actually get a copy of what you see on the screen, you get a copy of the overlay surface.
You would notice this if you copied, pasted, saved, closed the DVD program and re-opened the image file. You are likely to see just a solid color (pink seems to be common).

By default, most DVD players will render the video in "overlay mode".
That won't work for the copy and paste method.
So, what you have to do is force the program to render the DVD in "software mode"
You should be able to do this with a switch in the program, but the easiest way (works 90% of the time) to do it is to just open two copies of the dvd program, hit play on one, hit pause, and then use the second player to play the video, and copy from the second copy.
Sounds stupid, I know, but try it. You should be able to use 2 copies of VLC (videolan.org) running at the same time to do this for you if your player doesn't work.

I won't go too far into the technical details, but basically if you are watching a DVD in overlay mode, a part of the video card is just creating an "overlay surface", while another part of the card is doing most of the work decoding the DVD and outputting the video directly to the monitor.
If you do a print screen (by the way, alt+printscreen will grab only the active window), all you get a picture of is the overlay surface.
Years ago, there used to be 2 video cards, hooked together in some way. One was the "video card" that was used for everything but DVD video, and the other was the DVD decoding card.
Usually you plugged you monitor into the DVD Decoding card, which was then plugged into the regular video card.
The main one did the "everyday work", and when you weren't doing any video, the dvd decoding card just passed along everything to your monitor. When it was time to play video, the main video card drew a box on the screen and filled it with a solid color. The solid color made it easy for the DVD decoding card to detect the portion of the screen where the video was supposed to be playing and then "overlaid" the video on top of the solid colored box which it then sent to your monitor.
Nowadays both of those cards are on a single video card, but the whole idea behind overlay surfaces still remains. You don't, as a rule, want to send all this video data to the processor (which is what happens when you render in software mode), because there isn't any need to send it. All you care about is getting the video on the monitor.
(I'm not sure if that helped, but you asked for free ;)

Mate, though the seventies show certainly seems to have potential for good scenes, I have a strong feeling the kidnapping scene in question is from the 90's version - didn't see it, but it definitely rings a bell - probably saw something in a promo or tv guide description at the time (and can't remember the early 70's so well !!)

Ginger Jolie on Howard Stern
WEDNESDAY 2/2 11:30 p.m. Victoria Zdrok and Ginger Jolie in Robospanker

Last night on Howard Stern's ETV show they showed a 15 second clip form Penthouse Pet Ginger Jolie's web site.

It's a bondage clip. She's sitting on the edge of the bed with her arms hand cuffed behind her back and her legs shackled. She's ball gagged.

They are not tied to the Robospanker

I just viewed the tape this morning. Sorry.

Another way you might be able to capture from the "overlay" image is to use the free version of FRAPS (registered version simply lets you save more at a time). Here's the link...

Naked City
Hello. I heard through Fuzz's page that the old 1950s/1960s T.V. show Naked City had 2 bondage scene's during it,s run. I was just wondering if anyone knew the episode title's or any more details of the scene not in the database. They're starting to release the show on DVD, and there is a guy on the internet that has all the episodes for sale, I believe. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

A play called 'Fool's Gould' has a man kidnapping a woman who claims to be the daughter of Elliot Gould. There's a B&G scene near the beginning and some bondage throughout. The author is Patrick M Thornton.

I'm glad somebody else remembers that episode. I guess I've always enjoyed the nurse outfits of the 70's - tight little white skirts, white pantyhose and white shoes. If I remember the scene correctly, the cord he uses to tie her is very nice and thin, and he uses white surgical tape to gag her. Nice. Wish I could find THOSE DiDcaps!

B+G in a play
Several years ago I saw a play called "Popcorn", which was a black comedy involving a hostage situation with a Tarantino like producer. It had a scene where a couple of female TV assistants were tied up but not gagged. I did a google search and found a photo from some theatre production where it looks like they cuffed the assistants.

McGyver in DB?
McGyver is coming out on DVD, so I thought I'd check the DB, but no hits came up. Seems odd, as there are a few eps that have relevent scenes. Am I doing something wrong in the search?

One Life To Live
I didn't see the whole episode so there could be something I missed in the first half of today's One Life to Live soap, but Kassie DePaiva (Blair) gets duct tape tied hand at ankles (wrists in front),not gagged, by crazy Margaret lady...later injected with syringe to knock her out. Previews for tomorrow show Blair in a car trunk, not gagged.

Pretty frustrating scene on Wednesday if you were hoping for a gag with Blair, but the scene isn't over yet. Scene started Wednesday with the camera panning from Blair's black boots duct taped together, then pans to her hands tape-tied in front, then to Blair who was not gagged.

The captor then rips a strip of duct tape off but puts more on her taped feet!! A real bad tease. Blair remains that way for the entire episode and moves around a little. In the finale, the captor KOs Blair with an injection to her ass (kinda sexy). Later, we see Blair in the trunk of a car but you can't see her face. Promo for Thursday showed Blair asking "Where are you taking me" so maybe she'll be moved into the back seat. Her hands were still tied in front, but I couldn't tell whether they were taped or tied with a scarf. It looks like she had something around her neck, but again I couldn't tell.

Good news is she may be kept hostage for a while, and if the usual phone call is made she could eventually be gagged. Nice scene so far, if a little frustrating.

Jenni runs a mirror to Clemm's site. She has recently told me that the site is intended ONLY as an emergency mirror and should be used only when Clemm's is down.

The one thing that she has that he does not is the old postings to the BBS section of his site that were lost in a crash.

She however prefers that everyone stay at Clemm's

"Newlyweds"
Jessica Simpson was bit-gagged on Thursday's "Newlyweds" in her trip to the dentist. Some nice eye-rolling as Nick taunted her while it was in and she couldn't talk. Kinda similar to Jessica Alba's scene early in Season 2 on "Dark Angel." It's episode 2, and it'll repeat a few times in the next week.

I don't know, but it's Bondage in Everday Life, not Real Life. Just o clarify.

Speaking of which, I go there ocassionally, and I saw a picture that looked like it was from a wrestling show. I know some wrestling shows have had scenes but I've never seen this one (in link)

Re: B & G in a play

Yes, there was. It was a play that was made into a 1979 movie where Lee Grant is tape-gagged by Marjoe Gortner, whose over-the-top performance made the dismal movie almost worth watching. The movie ran on Showtime for some time.

It's been a long time since I last saw it. I think Ms. Grant was hogtied, but my memory could be playing tricks on me. The movie also had a very quick scene where Gortner pulled her sweater above her head, revealing very shapely bare breasts.

I notice this scene is not in the database. I'm not a registered user, so I haven't added it. Maybe one of the editors remembers it.

Sorry, I checked my lists and don't have any information.
There are two scenes in the DB. I checked TvTome to see
if I could match those, but they have very few episode
descriptions filled out.

Thanks a lot Asbestos, and to everyone else who offered advice. I was successful in using the technique described above, using the videolan player. Great trick!
