It's on DVD (and a bunch of places online) Do be cautioned that the show is painful to watch. Just the intro will make you wonder if that beam above your head will support your weight if you hang yourself from it. If you get me the episode number, I may be able to make clips. An approximate time would be great too. |

She's ordered to kneel in the middle of the room, then is instructed to sit in a chair while one of her captors ties her midsection to the chair. Later she frees herself, but is retied to the chair, this time with her ankles bound as well. At the end when the NCIS director is to be exchanged, her captor is suspicious of a trick, so he throws handcuffs at Agent David and instructs her to cuff herself, then lie face down. Episode ends without showing either woman being unbound. No gags. |

Does anyone know where this is from? It bears no resemblance to any of the listings in Brian's db. But there sure is a Batman. I don't recall ever viewing this scene.

Several productions of "Urinetown", to which I was partly alluding in a deleted post, are viewable on YouTube and nowhere else, having finished their theatre run. These videos are apparently legitimate, posted by their copyright owners. If shown on TV, they would undoubtedly be considered mainstream. YouTube is a medium, like any other. If it comes to be viewed as much as television or the cinema, and film makers post their own dramatic or musical material on it, will this not force a redefinition of "mainstream" to include it? |

By way of clarification, I wouldn't expect anything other than professional-standard material in our particular field of interest to be mentioned in this forum or the DB. That said, a lot of stuff aired on TV or shown in cinemas is hardly approaches what most of us would call a professional standard. :-) |

Agreed on the narrative structure, but "mainstream" has always meant made in the first place for public exposition, i.e. theatre, TV or ordinary, non-specialist cinemas. The Internet, in the form of YouTube and similar public-access websites, has now joined these outlets, and people are making films, mostly poor but some good, for it. Some of the better films shown may eventually appear on TV or in cinemas and make some money, in which case they will be considered both professional and classically mainstream. At least one I've seen has full opening and closing credits, suggesting it was made with a view to TV showing. What is starting to blur, and is surely of relevance here, is the distinction between amateur and professional. |

Hi everyone! Newbie to the pages here, but great stuff and I would like to contribute.
Can you subscribe to this board and be auto notified of posts? or, do you simply check it everyday? can you actually save the youtube clips? or are they view only? I have 2 Tivos in my house now and DirectTV with allot of channels. I know I can save to video tape (yuck, already done it) but what I have yet to try is my video capture device that I use for my old 8mm movies. I think that will work and if so, then I just need to start programming off the alerts here and then transferring them to the PC. Anybody go direct from the Tivo to the PC here? image quality should be better, no? If anybody wants me to record shows on the tivo I can do so and I look forward to helping out when possible with requests, thanks |

Mad, my friend, I certainly support your position. Not long ago I posted a Youtube link to a trailer for a Brazilian film titled "Desaparecida" (loosely translated as "Missing Person" or "Missing Woman"), with Francisca Queiroz in a stunning scene that lasted 10 minutes. It's actually a preview in the longest sense, since the film hasn't yet been completely shot, as far as I can tell. This was sort of a trial location shoot, and the only place I've seen it is Youtube. So that's even another category that the db ought to acknowledge somehow, it seems to me--even if the actual film never gets made! I'd argue it's still mainstream. And boy does it have a narrative structure! But your main point is even more important. It might be that Youtube doesn't last more than another year or two. But for sure whatever displaced/replaces it will be even more powerful, even more accessible (until some corporation buys it up and stuffs the innovation and creativity). The line between mainstream pro and mainstream amateur is disappearing even as I write these words. In some ways this is scary, and in others not. A good analogy is pop music--actually, more specifically rock-and-roll. Garage bands have for many years recorded their stuff and sent in the tapes unsolicited to the labels big and small, hoping for a break. And they gave copies to anyone who wanted to hear them. For example, the Kingsmen's version of "Louie Louie" is barely one step more than a garage take, with all the clinkers. And then there are the various (and infamous) "bootleg" albums that have circulated for years in underground public venues--for purchase!--and that have even become collectors' items (the "Basement Tapes" for example). This stuff gets played over the air on good radio stations, too, from time to time. People know about them and want to hear them. So what happens on Youtube with videos--specifically in our case bondage videos--is that clips are broadcast ranging from the seriously professional but not yet before the public (as in "Desaparecida") to nicely done fan flicks (as in the "Batman" clip I asked about), to the very amateur and even grossly ineffectual "I tied up my girlfriend--here, wanna see?" There's no reason why all the amateur crap ought to be included in the db. But there are lots of reasons why this community ought to be able to lobby for the inclusion of some of the stuff when its really good and meets certain criteria. So how do we determine what's "good"? Hmmm.... Well, we could have an annual nomination followed by a vote, handled by someone's website. Any nominated clip getting a majority (3/5s?, whatever) would be written into the database. Any other ideas? Great topic, though! Dannysuling |

(The version that we've been discussing is my edited clip, the same one I posted in my guest update a couple weeks ago. Wednesday October 25 22:17:16 2006 Youtube and stuff |
1. Amateur films are not appropriate for the DB unless they have been released through mainstream media.
2. Web sites, including Youtube, are not mainstream media. 3. The forums and the DB overlap to a great extent, but their topical domains are not identical. No Youtube-only production, podcast, web film, etc. is to be placed in the DB. 4. Stage plays are topical for the forums but not the DB, unless there should be a TV or movie version. 5. Any further discussion of Youtube, its policies or techinical matters should be posted to the Trade page. Links and discussion of scenes shown on it are appropriate for this page. |

Wednesday October 25 22:56:10 2006 Tierra de Pasiones clip |
Ok, first, the bad news. This is on a server that is a bit slow to download, and will only be up for 2 weeks. It is also entirely too large at 50 megs (Quicktime).
But having said that, this is the full scene on Tierra de Pasiones that was on this week. It's about 10 minutes long, the first minute and a half are the two women brutally fighting each other. (Fans of the show have waited for that moment all series). And a warning - parts of this clip are kind of brutal, like when the antagonist hurts her hand on her victim's face from punching her, so she looks around for an object to beat her with - and settles on a big stick, which she uses several times. I am not into the violence at all but it's part of the ongoing scene. Yes, the antagonist is played by the same woman who duct taped Ana Lucia Domingues last year. Wouldn't it be interesting if she had some input into how these scenes unfold? One can dream. But it should be said that while this scene is good in many ways, it doesn't compare to Ana Lucia's. I'll tell you who I'd really like to see in a serious scene - Andrea Montenegro, peruvian model bit player on "Amores" (Telemundo, 9 PM) who also shows up in Decisiones from time to time. Incredible woman! If anyone has a site who wants to host this scene, by all means do so. |

I bought the Cleopatra 2525 DVD, and that one episode wouldn't be reason enough to buy the DVD (you can decide for yourself if watching the leads bop around in skimpy outfits makes up for it...plus there was occasional bondage throghout the series). The episode in question is called "Flying Lessons", and while there are some great shots of babes not only wearing TIGHT rubber gags, as well as collars and leashes, and being led around as well, you should be aware that there are a few problems: 1) There are way more closeups of putzes than of the babes. 2) The good shots occur near the beginning and end, with very little through the middle. That said, it would make some excellent caps, and maybe even a heavily edited clip, but the episode as a whole is weak, despite the heavy fetish theme. |

Bless you sir for finding this on a site where it can be downloaded. I totally forgot to record this and I hate missing the Novela scenes, as most of them are quite good. I'm not into the violence aspect either, but thankfully she doesn't look as banged and bloodied up as some damsels I have seen. As for posting it, what I might do (time permitting), is to trim the scene and re-encode in another format. If I should get that happening, you all will be the first to know. |
