I got mine at Tower Records but I now see that they're cheaper at FYE. FYE and Alpha Video both have websites.

I think, in that particular shot, the chains are actually on Johnny Depp's wrists, and he's draping them over her from behind.

There's still good news on this one, as at least one still shows her with her hands bound in front, which is great (if the scene doesn't get cut)-- but I've seen another pic of her walking the plank with her hands completely untied! Sloppy pirating, if you ask me.

Aww shucks! And the hands tied in front is loose besides! What's the use? I'll never understand hands tied in front in the practical sense - though it is easier to see camerawise.

Lowball and Descendant
I just watched two movies tonight with excellent female bondage scenes. The first one was "Lowball", featuring Amber Smith. She is kidnapped by the villain early on in the plot. She is first shown with her hands secured with leather straps to the armrests of a chair and her mouth gagged with a black cleave gag. Later scenes show her being subject to psychological and physical degradation by a dominatrix; she even wears a leather mask of some sort in one scene.
The second movie was "Descendant", which was previously mentioned on this message board. Those who watch this movie will make a serendipitous discovery: there are three damsels in distress in this film, including the aforementioned Katherine Heigl.
The first one has her hands tied to a bedpost before she is brutally murdered. The second one plays Katherine Heigl's best friend, and she is bound and gagged and mummified by the villain; her hands are tied over her head and she is gagged with duct tape, as the villain proceeds to wrap her with an Ace bandage. There are several close-up views of her bound hands and gagged mouth and of her mummification.
Finally, Ms. Heigl is bound and gagged on a bed; her hands are tied to the headboard and she is gagged with duct tape. Her scenes are lengthy, featuring several close-up views of her tape-gagged mouth, and quite a bit of indignant "mmph"-ing as she is menaced by the villain.
"Descendant" at least has some semblance of a plot; "Lowball" has an inane plot, and except for Amber Smith's bondage scenes, is forgettable.

Yeah, but nobody's advocating actresses in their 40s and 50s for the role, it's when actresses in their late 20s and early 30s are rejected that it gets weird. And frankly, I have trouble with frail teenyboppers playing Wonder Woman.

While it's true that it's best to have a young lead for the purposes of sequels, a lot of "franchises" have done just fine with several different guys (can't think of any female action hero franchises, though sadly, "Charlies' Angels" might soon fill that bill). They include Tarzan and James Bond, both of which have done well with a variety of guys playing the lead. YOu can even have an occasional dud (George Lazenby) and still come out all right.

Heck, Star Wars and Star Trek have kept the franchise going with ENTIRELY NEW CASTS!

So, I don't think it's necessary to case a teenybopper as Wonder Woman. Better to secure the future of the franchise with someone who can carry the role rather than settle on a lead who'd be much more convincing moping about boys in some WB nighttime soaper.

Actually Lynda Carter was in her early 20's when she played Wonder Woman.

In the Comics,Wonder Woman was in her late teens, early 20's when she first appears.

From a film-making standpoint, The producers are going to go for someone in their 20's for this movie as it needs to appeal to the same age groupas most WB TV shows. It's the way things are today.

Movie/Video alerts
I'm assuming that you're haveing some temporary problems with your message page, which is why the format has changed. You've combined favorite scenes with the above topic. You show the last posting being February, which I assume applies to favorite scenes as their were postings last week on the newly released video DECADENCE. Again I assume this is just temporary, but it is very useful to see something that tells you that something new has been posted to sites that don't see regular postings as DISCUSSIONS & VCR ALERTS do.

Maxim Magazine
On page 152 in Maxim Magazine has a picture of a girl walking the plank with her hands tied behind her back. The photo shot is with the girls back to the camera, she is playfully doing this with a little smile on her face, she is tied with brown rope and you can barely see the rope on her hands but it's there.

Sounds like a great picture, Jay! Any chance that's going to be submitted to the BIEL site?

I rented both DVDs at a Hollywood Video store, where both were available.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the BIEL site.

If you want, ask the site owner if interested? And get an address from him I can mail it to.

No format change. The host had a crash, and some files
were corrupted.

No combination.

The "last message" file for Movie Alerts was wiped out.
It won't show up until someone posts there.

There hasn't been anything new, at least since the crash.
I didn't feel like manually changing it.

I'm just curious...
...as to whether anyone reading or posting to this site from a public library in the USA has had any problems with it being filtered. The reason I ask is that for those of you who haven't heard, the U. S. Supreme Court issued a ruling this morning which upheld the Children's Internet Protection Act, requiring libraries which get federal funds to install filtering software on their Internet connections, supposedly to protect kids from...well, this isn't the Anything Goes page, but you get the picture.

I've never run into a problem, but that may be because the library I hang out at most often gives the patron the choice of whether he or she wants to filter right on the login page. I imagine this won't be an option much longer.

And while once again this isn't That Other Page, I can just see one of us going sheepishly up to a librarian and asking her (and there's another question: would it be even more embarrassing to have to ask a guy?) to kindly unblock this site, can't you? The ability to ask for an unblock was the court majority's principal rationale for its decision, but you've got to wonder if they really thought it through.

Okay, Mr. Moderator, I'm off the soapbox. If I was on it too long to suit your taste, feel free to shove this over to you-know-where, and sorry for the inconvenience. Furthermore, if you want to similarly direct followups I'll understand.

And while I'm here, I might as well weigh in on the who's-gonna-play-Wonder Woman question with a totally off-the-wall suggestion: She'd probably never do it, but how about Julia Roberts?

Re: soaps?

Nothing for Carly on GH today. But...

Sonny and Jason now know that Rick is the one who kidnapped her. Near the end of today's episode Sonny told Jason that to get Carly back, he needed to have the most valuable thing Rick has, to which Jason answered "Liz". The dialogue I just paraphrased might not sound like much, but Sonny walked into the room just before this little exchange carrying a pair of black gloves, which he put on, and a large coil of rope!!!

And in a classic bit of foreshadowing (hopefully!), the last time we saw Liz, Rick was telling her to go to her studio. He'd stop by to see her later.

Could Rebecca Herbst finally be getting a b&g scene?

I am curious... but not yellow. :-)
No nudity, no dirty words, no sex... No porn here!

I confess I have unclean thoughts about Courteney Cox-Arquette. That does not make the FRIENDS section of nbc.com pornography.

The mainstream media can bind & gag beautiful actresses, but we can't discuss it in a polite manner? Get a grip! :-)

Comic Book Bondage
The DC/Vertigo miniseries "Beware the Creeper" scored in its 3rd issue, with a beauty in her undies tied on her bed--arms overhead (wrists together) and legs spread very wide. The first scene is from behind (an interesting view) and the 2nd is of a painting (with a converntional front view). No gag, but still quite tasty.

A recent issue of Vampirella (I believe it was #20) had Vampi thoroughly strapped down on an operating table in her trademark skimpy outfit. The Connor/Palmiotti cover (with a poster version as the centerspread) was fantastic.
