Friday April 18 03:25:44 2008 Raffish DiDClips updated |
No theme this week...just another dozen clips at semi-random that seemed worthy. As of this week, the site has a spiffy, higher-bandwidth connection to the net, which should solve the performance problems that a few folks have noticed on occasion. More details on my front page. |

Despite wrote: > Jamie Pressly is tied to a chair and duct tape gagged on > My Name Is Earl right now. Scene continuing. The bondage was pathetic and futile. I didn't scrutinize her bonds too closely, but her tape gag was not even applied properly. The ends of the duct tape hadn't even been pressed down over the corners of her mouth. Her gag looked as though she could've shaken it off with minimal effort. The "mmph" sounds she made through her gag were delectable, but very obviously contrived, definitely not due to her ability to speak being inhibited by a strip of duct tape placed over her mouth. The father of the main character temporarily removes her gag, then places it back over her mouth. This time, he does press down firmly, and it seems to be securely applied. Ms. Pressly is being held hostage by a drug dealer and is initially not restrained. She begins teasing him, and in the subsequent scene, is shown bound and gagged. I understand that this show is a sitcom, not a crime drama, but couldn't the director have instructed a prop person to press down firmly on the duct tape that was used to gag Ms. Pressly? |

Despite wrote: > Jamie Pressly is tied to a chair and duct tape gagged on > My Name Is Earl right now. I delayed my going to the gym in order to watch this episode, and, despite my laments about the obvious futility of her gag, I think that the sacrifice was worthwhile. The scene wasn't bad, and it is always worth it to see the beautiful Jamie Pressly bound and gagged. |

Mega-belated response here (it's been a busy week), but...yeah. Lucas suggested Gena Lee Nolin, Holly Gagnier, Angelica Bridges, Pamela Bach, and Vanessa Angel as well. If I had 'em, I'd post 'em. Maybe someday. |

Sadly, I didn't manage to catch the "Earl" scene, but I've posted _Mercenary_ to the free zone at the link. Change the ".rm" to ".mov" if you prefer the QuickTime/3ivx version. I have to say that, while Jaime looks great with a gag, my favorite part of this scene is still her profane rant when it finally comes off at the end. "Well, daddy is sure gonna be glad to have *her* home..." Classic. |

Speaking of which, could any of you people remember any DiD scenes that made you chuckle? We all need to laugh sometimes, I believe. |

Three words: Moonlighting, "Atomic Shakespeare." As off-the-wall concept episodes go, only Buffy's "Once More With Feeling" could possibly top it with respect to television immortality. But that one didn't have a cleave-gag scene. |

Also: _Terrorists_. The bondage is ridiculous -- but that's sort of the point, and the dialog is more than good enough to make up for it. Great indie fun. |

Friday April 18 12:13:11 2008 Forgetting Sarah Marshall |
I know it's a long shot, but it's Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell, so anything goes. Does anybody know if there was even a handgag for either one of these lovely ladies? |

Hadji wrote: > Despite wrote: > he scene wasn't bad, and it is always worth > it to see the beautiful Jamie Pressly bound and gagged. It was bad, Mercenary was 10 times hotter, I hate hands in front and it had zero sex appeal, horrible wardrobe, she plays a sex bomb on that show, why hide it? Some scenes suck and just don't "get it". There's a lot of comedies out there with scenes that are sexy, this wasn't one of them. Sorry I'm in a bad mood. |

I do remember from the trailer I saw where the main character is having sex with someone and complaining about her talking too much. Her reply is "Do you want to gag me?" and he replies back to her something along the lines of "Yeah, I kinda do." So if nothing else, we get a little bondage talk. :) |

Friday April 18 17:24:48 2008 Lack of proper Alerts |
Just a friendly request people: Please use the Alerts page if you even *suspect* an upcoming scene on television/cable. It seems lately the Alerts page is only being used for scenes that are already in the database. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has limited time to scroll thru the 'over-expositions' (to put it nicely) in the Discussion page every day just to find something of interest to me that's upcoming. For ex: I had no idea until today that Days of our lives and My Name is Earl (which I tired of regular watching) had scenes this week (however lame). Thank you otherwise for your diligence. |

Friday April 18 17:49:02 2008 Re: Funny bondage scenes |
The 1992 film "The Paint Job" had Bebe Neuwirth (Lillith Crane from "Cheers") bound and gagged. The bondage was, to say the least, ineffective, as Lillith was bound in a kitchen with one hand secured to an overhead beam and the other to a kitchen drawer handle. As soon as her captor leaves, she just slides the drawer out of its slot and in short order, she's free. The point of the scene is that her captor is supposed to be something of an idiot. Crane's expression as she slides the drawer out is priceless -- clearly she's thinking, "He can't be that stupid. Nobody could be that stupid." |

Pat Powers wrote: > The 1992 film "The Paint Job" had Bebe Neuwirth... That one's good, but my favorite is: ------- Record number: 1888 Title: The Spirit (1987) Medium: TV Movie Actress: Nana Visitor Description: Ms. Visitor, gets grabbed by the baddies, tied hands in front, ankles together, detective gagged with a white cloth and strapped inside an iron maiden with a slowly-closing spiked door closing upon her. Her wide-eyed visage registering stark fear is marvelous. She escapes the device and bunnyhops screaming into the next room which is full of people attending a fancy dress reception. Wearing a blue dress ------- Nana's expressions during the torture chamber scene are priceless. "Hello, in deadly peril here!! Can you guys talk later??" The villainess leaves, she manages to remove her gag, and says, in a squeaky little voice: "...help?" The final DiD-scene, in which she hops out to the main reception screaming her head off... and is met with puzzled indifference by the crowd. *Also* priceless! I wish they'd release "The Spirit" (TV Movie-1987) on DVD... not that it's Great Art, or anything. |

Maybe the Frank Miller Spirit movie due out next year might inspire one of the channels to rebroadcast it. |

Ms. Pressly is a beautiful woman whose pulchritude is enhanced by her being bound and gagged. I do concur that the scene could've been better. As I've asked in a previous post, would it have been too difficult for the prop man to press down on the edges of the duct tape covering Ms. Pressly's mouth? We should recall that the series is a comedy, and its objective is to elicit laughter from its audience, not depict crime scenes realistically. If we keep in mind the context in which this scene occurred, then we can enjoy it. |

So, loyalists. I've read volume 1, and while I didn't think it so clever, the general themes were great. So, if I had to choose, in the opinion of the masses: Buy volume 2 or buy volume 3? And, remember, this isn't Chaucer. I can comfortably follow the narrative out of order. I'm just curious which is more to the tastes of this forum. |

Comic fan wrote: > Buy volume 2 or buy volume 3? I would say there's more and better bondage in Vol. 3 (that A.R.R. story is worth the price of admission all by its lonesome), but the storylines are stronger and there's more character development in 2, and it's a little funnier. But frankly, they're both great. You can't go wrong with this series, to date. Also, it may not be Chaucer, but stuff that happens in 2 leads to some of the stuff that happens in 3. Really, you need to buy them both. |
