Re: site that has a list of books with scenes
Years ago there was mrironys site with hundreds of books listed. It has not been active for some time, though the guestbook can still be accessed.

New Article: Whither Bondage In The Mainstream Media?
Some posts on this board got me to thinking. Several posters were saying that they were being turned off mainstream damsel in distress scenes because so often the damsels get killed, tortured or raped, and that's a real turnoff, especially as it's not something vaguely alluded to but they make real sure you know exactly what happened.

I concur! I had some thoughts about where media was going anyway, so I wrote up an article on the topic. It has vidcaps from She Spies, VIP, Superman, Criminal Minds, Spartacus, Game of Thrones, Hostel and Girl in 3D. It's at the homepage link.

I can summarize my position pretty easily: with movie ticket sales dominated by male teens and young adults, movies have gotten dumber, often just strings of explosions with a thin patina of plot to hold them together. Meanwhile, premium cable stations as well as non-pay cable stations are sponsoring their own original series, with little or no interference or censorship. Sopranos, Deadwood, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Spartacus and Game of Thrones are examples.

As a result, a lot of the best writers are working in television now, which is why the TV series cited are getting all kinds of awards and are generally regarded as the best stuff out there. Unfortunately there is also a move toward more intense, edgy drama that has cranked up the nastiness that happens to damsels.

It's still possible to produce fun, lighthearted shows that let you enjoy a damsel in distress scene without having to worry about her being brutalized shortly thereafter: Chuck, She Spies and VIP are all fairly recent examples. But not a hell of a lot of good clean fun adventure out there.

I'm hoping maybe we'll get something along those lines from a cable station or a premium channel. But I don't KNOW, I mean, last time I wrote an article along these lines I COMPLETELY missed the advent of original cable TV series as significant sources of original programming.

Nah, I think there's plenty of more escapist stuff out there, they just don't B&G their female leads all that often.

A quick glance at the TV schedule sees the following shows:

Supernatural, Dr Who, Terra Nova, Sherlock, The Vampire Diaries, Lost Girl, The Ringer, Castle, Fringe, Bones,

none of which deal in anything particularly nasty, and have the potential, if they haven't already in certain cases, to deliver great scenes. I don't see there being any huge reduction in fun shows which DiD potential as opposed to the last decade.

Comic book heroines
Does anybody have any ideas of what to do with comic book heroines to give them more opportunities to be bound and gagged (such as vocal powers, magic words, etc.)? This is already the case with certain DC Comics heroines:

Wonder Woman can not break her own magic lasso which is often used to bind her. However, there is no reason to gag her (except to keep her from yelling for help.)

Black Canary has a destructive sonic scream.

Zatanna uses magic by saying spells backwards.

Mary Batson changes into Mary Marvel by saying "Shazam".

These characters have all been bound and gagged a lot, except Wonder Woman who has been bound a lot, but only gagged a few times. Is there a way to make sure that Wonder Woman gets gagged when she is bound?

Does anybody have any ideas or other examples?

Album covers
Does anybody know of any music album covers that have a bound and gagged woman? Does anybody have any ideas for such an album cover?

Marvel Comics has a female character named Siryn, a mutant whose power is a sonic scream. She has been gagged fairly often in the pages of Marvel Comics. She is related to the X-Man Banshee.
There is also a female supervillain in Marvel Comics, named Screaming Mimi, whose power is also a sonic scream.
Finally, there is a female member of Marvel Comics' Squadron Supreme named Lady Lark, who is basically a knockoff of DC Comics' Black Canary, whose power is also a sonic scream.

Re: Comic book heroines
There's a villainess named the Enchantress at Marvel who has spellcasting abilities. She's been gagged to prevent her from using her powers, one of which was only a few years ago in one of the Spider-Man books.

There's also a Marvel heroine named Venus who can seduce men and make them fall in love with her, and she too has been gagged several times to render her powers useless.

Maritza Rodriguez on Levantate!
Maritza Rodriguez was a guest con-host this morning on " Levantate!" today. When she was introduced, the background screen on the set showed scenes from her telenovela including a few scenes of her tied up and OTM gagged. Pretty nice surprise to have that on the background as she is being introduced on the show. Btw, regular co-host Rashel Diaz is one of the most beautiful Latinas in the world. Too bad there hasn't been a scene for her. The closest was an attempted hand gag last summer by her co-host.

I am not as familiar with Marvel Comics as I am with DC Comics. How do her powers work? What does she do with her voice?

Did she say anything about her bound-and-gagged scene?

La Casa De Al Lado
"Rebeca" (Karla Monroig) is bound (hands and bare feet) to a hospital bed with medical restraints in Thursday's episode (no gag). She is rescued.

LA CASA DE AL LADO has 7 episodes left after Thursday's episode. There is still a chance for "Pilar" (Maritza Rodriguez) to be bound and gagged again. In Thursday's episode, she is wearing a wire to try to incriminate the main villain of the show. Toward the end of the episode, he discovers the wire. Also, "Raquel" (the evil twin) is still at large.

I don't really like the light-hearted stuff but I definitely don't want to see any damsel get injured. Love the frustration trying to escape and I like the real drama but not anything near gory or any violence. ALthough a tight handgag is definitely OK.
