Looking for 80's scene
I saw an add for this movie when I was a kid in the '80's, never saw the film itself. A high school boy and hometown athelete is kidnapped, along with his girlfriend. He is forced to fight in these numerous death matches against other guys, and his girlfriend is the prize to whoever wins the whole thingg. Think there was at least one cleave gag scene. Thanks in advanced.

mmm, I just love how those lips show up on the gag.
If I recall correctly though, isn't this based off a true event?

Yes, it's a very accurate reconstruction of an abduction that ended in tragedy.

One scene involving a famous actress when she was younger that I have never seen a shred of proof on is Helen Hunt's aparent bound and gagged scene in a show titled "Amy Printiss". I know the show actually existed...I've looked it up and have found the info on it. About a female cop. Hunt played the daughter of the title character. The database lists a very vauge despriction of the so-called scene. This is one that I don't actually think happened. This for me would be a grail if I saw it...even just a cap would be satisfying.

"Amy Prentiss" was 4 2-hour tv movies that were part of the NBC Mystery Movies [that also spawned Macmillan & Wife and Columbo] aired during the 74-75 season.
Good news: there are only 4 episodes to track down descriptions. Bad news: Probably a distant memory for most.

Definition of a Grail
Are "Grail" scenes, scenes that are hard to find or more of scenes that we have great fondness for that we would like to revisit?

I think they're supposed to be more the latter, though I don't see why they can't be both.

Melrose Place alert
The VCR alerts page said that Soapnet was supposed to show Melrose Place "The Big Bang Theory (pt. 2)" (Laura Leighton bound and gagged) today at 11:00 AM. However, they showed a different episode. They didn't show it at 12:00 PM either (they showed 2 episodes in a row).

The alert was correct. The satellite grid showed that this episode WAS supposed to air, but it didn't. Does anyone have any idea when it might actually be on?

According to the descriptions of the episodes at an episode guide website that I looked at, Soapnet's airings of "Melrose Place" is 3 episodes behind the satellite descriptions. They show 2 episodes in a row (11:00 AM and 12:00 PM). Therefore, the episode with Laura Leighton bound and gagged should be on at 12:00 PM eastern time tomorrow (Thursday July 31). I will post a VCR alert.

NOTE: This episode guide said that the episode is called "The Big Bang (pt.2)" (no "theory"). Is anyone sure about the title?

Nothing with "Walker" can be considered a grail. The show airs all over the place. The finale will turn up at some point. I remember not saving that one. Didn't think she looked that great in the western-type outfit, which was some type of dream sequence.

Speaking of Comic Con
On Saturday my girl and I dressed as Poison Ivy and Joker, respectively. We walked across two girls who were dressed as Star Wars gals, one of whom had a chain. I asked them if they wouldn't mind taking a photo with my gal chained up. They did, and then the other girl handgagged my own girlfriend. This lasted for at least a good minute or two.

Just thought I'd share.

Not exactly this, but sorta, kinda, is one of my favorite scenes from "Kiss the Girls and Make Them Die," which had a struggling Dorothy Provine, in shorts, arms behind, being forced across a catwalk by a huge goon toward a rocket. I believe that there was an interview where Ms. Provine divulged that the guy had a fear of heights and his grip on her elbows was so tight and his balance so shaky that she was really afraid he might fall and carry her off the catwalk with him.

My understanding are that Grails are scene which are not in the public domain, scenes which you remember or have heard about but which you haven't seen again since
Scenes from TV shows and films which haven't been repeated. released on video or DVD.

For example i could name several British Tv scenes which i saw more than 20 years ago and which I doubt i'll ever get to see again much as i would love to.

Piggy in the Middle / The Baker Street Boys: The Case of the Captive Clairvoyant / Captain Zep

These titles may mean nothing to most people but they are all scenes i remember from my youth. They are my Holy Grails

a personal message to you all
Hi guys....I want to post something here, I hope Brian will allow it. It is personal and obviously off-topic. For simplicity I'm just going to post this directly from our blog on my band's MySpace page...some of the things in it may not make much sense to those who do not know me personally so just kinda skip over them...I'm not up to editing it but as we are all kind of a big family here and many of you know me, at least as "JP", I wanted you guys to know. Again, sorry Brian if this is off topic...you can move it if you want to.

ALLISON NIKOLE PFEIFFER 1997-2008 R.I.P.
Current mood: crushed

Many of you out there know this already...my daughter Allison was killed today, July 26, in an automobile accident. She was only 10 years old, her birthday would have been on Sept. 5... she was so excited to be turning 11! She was a beautiful, sweet girl who simply captivated a room when she walked in....everyone she met was an automatic friend & everyone who ever met her loved her very much. She loved BushDog (naturally, her daddy's band!) and, although she lived in Missouri with her mother, she visited me often & I went up to see her as often as our schedule permitted, usually about every 5 weeks. Every summer she spent 6 weeks down here and simply loved it here in Little Rock, and loved going to Wild River Country, the Zoo, and Chuck E. Cheese. She was the definitive "daddy's girl", we had the most special bond, and it was very apparent to all who saw us together our love for each other..quite the different picture for those who know me only as the wild man kicking ass behind the drums! She was so excited she got to see a couple shows this time she came down (most of our shows are "21 & up")..our show at ""Woo at the Zoo" and our show at 4th of July's Family Fest opening for Simple Plan. She knew the words to almost all our songs & would just dance & sing them while we were playing, just staring up at her daddy back on the drums...who in turn couldn't take his eyes off HER (although it WAS a bit jarring seeing her know & sing all the words to "Crazy Bitch"!...how fast they grow up!) :-)

I cannot believe she was taken from me at such a young age...a beautiful little girl who never had a hard word to say about anyone, never even received a spanking she was that good and well-mannered. She loved old horror movies (how many 10 years olds love the original "Frankenstein" or The Mummy"??). She also loved old episodes of "Lost in Space" and for Christmas was so excited that I bought her the DVD set of the entire series. Of course, she was also very into the Harry Potters, the Star Wars, and the Pirates of the Caribbeans. Her love for animals was almost as great as her love for movies.....she showed dogs in dog shows, and rabbits & chickens at the county fairs, and just last week her rabbits won second place! It seems so senseless and cruel that her life ended so soon but in the short time we had together we loved and enjoyed every minute we were together and crammed many MANY memories into that short time.

She was a kind, obedient, loving, beautiful, adorable little person who my life simply revolved around. I don't know how I am going to get thru this and move on but I know I will. Thank you all for all the texts, emails, voice mails, & MySpace messages....your thoughts & prayers & kind words mean alot in this hard time. I know nothing will every bring Allison back to me but it helps knowing that I'm not alone....everyone who ever knew her is grieving with me and shedding many tears, stories, and questions. My band-mates have been great...beyond words...as have our "extended family" of wives, girlfriends, "band babes" etc. and words cannot express my feelings & gratitude right now.

Please save aside a prayer for my sweet daughter Allison, who is now in Heaven playing with Scraps, Shelby, Heather, and Penny (she knows who they are) and know that she loved you guys very much & our lives were fuller for having had her in them.

And for those of you with children of your own...be sure to give them a big hug today, because life is fragile & unpredictable and can be snuffed out in a blink of an eye....and you truely often don't know what you have til it's gone.
best wishes & all my love to you all,
Jeff
Drummer, BushDog (and Allison too, looking down at us all)

Today's episode didn't show Adamari Lopez's character or her kidnapper. This is an old soap, so I read some spoilers, and they said in the next episode, the kidnapper would demand a ransom from the girl's family. This current kidnapping plot lasts for the next 3-4 episodes, but I have no idea when they'll show the girl again or if she'll be b&g when the do show her.

You're probably not having any luck because of the title error. Try "Run, Run Joe! (1974)"
or any of the other titles at the homepage link. "Arrivano Joe e Margherito (1974)" etc etc

"Run, Joe Run" was that silly dog show where he fought crime by having his military flashbacks, then opening gates and taking out bad guys.
I don't recall any scenes in it.

GRAILS
Grails are one of those terms, like classic, that have been used and abused on this site so much that they've almost ceased to have any meaning. I've seen people refer to scenes as grails that anyone willing to do a little research or spend a couple of bucks could easily acquire. Ultimately a grail is a personal choice, but in terms of the hobby as a whole grails are scenes that are almost impossible to find that we long to see or possess. To many in the hobby (though not to me)one of the holiest of grails is the movie (whose name escapes me right now)where all the stewardess's are boung and gagged.

I have to create a fake e-mail address. Well, actually I did that already, but then I didn't have access to the site to get to the Contact form.

So now I have the Contact form, but the sheet with the e-mail info self-destructed in 5 seconds, so I have to contact HQ.

Re: a personal message to you all
Coming from someone who has lost a lot of close family members and friends, I'm truly, deeply sorry for your lost. Nothing anyone can say can really assuage what you went through.
Just know that there are people out there who 'emphasize' with you.

I don't know you from Adam, but just know there are people who feel for your loss.

Take care...you and your family and friends.

I think (have *always* thought) that "Holy Grail" is more or less "one-that-got-away", something that is *NOT* available (as far as anyone knows). Of course, if it suddenly *becomes* available, that's good news, and one man's "Grail" may be another man's "it's been posted on YouTube for *years*, dude!".

Here's a personal example of a Holy Grail example:

I remember seeing the very end of an episode of the 1976-77 Stefanie Powers/Harold Gould TV series "The Feather & Father Gang". They did that scenes-from-this-week's-episode thing over the end credits... I was half-watching the screen... and WOW!! Suddenly, there's Stefanie, dressed in a formal gown, and TIGHTLY TIED TO A CHAIR WITH SOMETHING LIKE THIRTY YARDS OF ROPE!! I *think* she was OTM gagged, but it came and went in a flash and it's been thirty one years, so the details are fuzzy. (This illustrates another common feature of Holy Grails: the possibility of Scene Creep.)

ANYhoo... Stefanie struggled against her bonds, rolled her eyes in helpless disgust... and then it was gone. Feather & Father died in mid-season and they never showed reruns. So... all I can do is speculate that episode had a REALLY GOOD SCENE!! Will we ever know? Holy Grail. {Sigh}
