As the World Turns - alert
Scene with Colleen Zenk Pinter continued today with a couple sequences in the first 20 minutes of the show. Approximate times: 4 minute & 14 minute marks. She's eventually discovered on the floor, having fallen out of the chair, and untied on screen. Bit of dialogue around the 34 minute mark: "She overpowered me, she bound and gagged me and left me on the floor."

Spoilers say she is supposed to be kidnapped around Friday, but it sounds like a locked in cell scenario. Here's hoping for the best, though.

As the World Turns
"Barbara" (Colleen Zenk) is bound and gagged early in today's episode. This is a continuation of the scene that began in Friday's episode.

The scene begins right after a man and a woman are talking in a hotel hallway. They hear mmmmphing coming from a room and assume that "Barbara" is having sex. She struggles so hard that she falls on the floor. Later, the man goes into the room, finds her, and frees her.

The bondage scene is over by 20 minutes into the episode.

Later in the episode, "Barbara" says about her ordeal: "She overpowered me. She bound and gagged me and left me on the floor." Later still, she says: "I was bound, gagged, and have bruises all over my body." (or something like that).

That was a little vague. Spoilers say Barbara (Colleen Zenk Pinter) is going to be kidnapped, probably around Friday, July 2. The spoilers for the week of July 5 say: "Barbara is held prisoner by a mysterious captor."

There is one decent close-up view of her gagged; most of the other views of her bound and gagged are from rather oblique angles. Also, her hands are tied IN FRONT of her; she could've easily reached up and removed her gag, unless, of course, it was tied very tightly.
Still, it is always a delectation to see a good-looking woman bound and gagged!

Yeah, this show is going to be popping with scenes in its final two months. Stay tuned.

You're wrong. On Friday, her hands were also tied to the chair.

Today, she got loose from the chair, so she probably could have pulled off the gag.

I apologize for my incorrect assumption; I didn't watch the preceding episode. It seems then, that her captor did account for her being able to remove her gag with her hands by securing them to the armrests of the chair.

10 Things I'd like to ask TV bad guys...
1. Why do you tie their hands in front of them?

2. Why do you tie them so loosely?

3. Why do you always leave scissors/a knife/a glass bottle/a razor blade within reach of the damsel?

4. Did they have a bulk sale on silver duct tape?

5. If they did, why do you use so little on their mouths?

6. Ever heard of a wrap-around tape gag?

7. Why don't you cross their legs before you bind them so they can't hop around?

8. Ever heard of handcuffs?

9. Ever heard of HINGED handcuffs?

10. Can't you fondle them a little bit while they're tied up?

11th Question I forgot
11. When you remove their already lame strip of silver tape to give them water or something, why do you then reapply the same piece?!? Do you *really* think it's got any sticky left at this point???

Re: 10 Things I'd like to ask TV bad guys...
12. Why does the obsessed stalker/methodical kidnapper spend hours of their life for weeks (or even months) plotting an abduction, finding and prepping their hideout, etc. -- only to spend about 20 minutes on their Checklist item "Restraints" -- apparently by driving to their local Home Depot/Lowes, and picking up a roll of Duct tape?

A) One can buy more effective bondage equipment at the local adult store (pretty much every city/suburb has one). Not to mention that you can get from the parking lot, pick up your stuff, buy it, and get back to your car faster than at the big box hardware store).

B) Online vendors have been around since the Internet.

Except for the last four, I myself have pondered all of these questions, particularly the ones that concern the villain's stinginess with duct tape. Why does the villain use only one strip, and almost always a small one at that, to gag the damsel? Doesn't he have an entire roll at his disposal? Why, when the tape gag comes off, does he simply reapply it, instead of applying a new strip of duct tape? Is duct tape that expensive? Hasn't the original strip of duct tape lost much of its adhesive capacity?
A glaring example of stinginess with duct tape is the movie, "The Transporter", in which Jason Statham gags Shu Qi with the same strip of duct tape, which has fallen into dirt, and is certainly not very adhesive any longer.

My personal fave is a long lost clip from a black and white tv show called "Four Tank Men and A Dog"..it had this beautiful czech girl who was supposed to be an army sergeant or something tied to a post with a big thick stuff gag rammed in. Great scene-she had the unform on, nice bob haircut and knee length boots to boot (see what I did there?)and LOTS of mmphing, trying to get the heroes attention.

either that scene or Cameron Diaz in A Life Less Ordinary-that "argument" she has with her captor is classic

Client List - Jennifer Love Hewitt
Looks like Jennifer Love Hewitt will get a handcuffed perp walk scene clad in exposed bra in the upcoming Lifetime movie "The Client List". She plays a prostitute who at some point is arrested.

The Great Race - Natalie Wood handcuffed
I forgot to mention in the VCR alert that Natalie Wood is handcuffed TWICE in this film. The first time, only one hand is handcuffed. The second time, both hands are handcuffed by Tony Curtis.

1. It's "ubiquitous" as Hadji likes to say.
2. It's cheap.
3. It's easy to bind and gag with.
4. What home doesn't have at least 1 roll of duct tape lying around?

But my point was for the "Obsessed stalker/Meticulous kidnapper", who in TV-world reality is intelligent enough to confound a dozen experienced police/federal agents, yet uses a roll of duct tape on their DiD. This person isn't your Junkie-home invader sort of dim bulb, who just brings along whatevers within arm's reach.

My analogy would be that if someone knocked on my door and invited me to ride with them to a Halloween party, I know that I could throw a bedsheet over my head and go as a ghost. But if I were to receive an invite to a semi-formal Costume party a month in advance from my boss or a client, I know I can stop by the local Wal-Mart or Target, and pick up reasonable excuse for a costume. Or perish the thought, maybe even use a search engine to find the nearest Costume shop or buy something online.

Revenge of the Bridesmaids
ABC Family is airing a movie on July 18. Revenge of the Bridesmaids and a commercial just ran where the bridesmaids wrapped the bride's veil around her head as a gag. They then wrap her with some red silk ribbons. Then the it showed her falling backwards with her bonds and veil overthemouth gag. Once I can verify time, I will post in alerts.
