The Bridge

Sorry about the lateness of this post, but in case it can be grabbed off the CBS website, there's a new crime show that airs on CBS Saturday nights called "The Bridge" which had a full treatment scene in the pilot episode a couple weeks back.

A group of corrupt cops are ransacking a house way out of their jurisdiction when a pair of local cops come poking around. One of the bad cops answers the door as sly as you please and answers all their questions and even produces a warrant when asked to. While he's doing that, a female with short hair is shown bound and tape gagged in a back bedroom while one of the other cop/thugs holds a gun to her head. There is a male in the same predicament in another room, but he is only shown quickly once, while the lady's screen time is longer with decent closeups.

The bad cops fool the good cops, and it doesn't end well for the lady (not shown on-screen).

These caps were taken from my old DiD-site "sprachlos".
Unfortunately, the original scene has been overdubbed. I'm sorry.

"VIVA family" was a short living comedy show produced by the German music channel VIVA. Nadine played the part as "Postschnecke", a girl who had to read some comments about the show.

If the bad guys kept them bound and gagged instead of letting Fiona rub loose in the basement they would have never eacaped

They never really escaped...Fiona got help from Sam Axe and the other girl was taken off to a ransom drop by the bad guys and saved by Michael. How did they "escape"? More like a rescue.

In the video clip posted on Video there isn't one shot of the two ladies actually shown bound. They are just shown sitting gagged with their hands behind and it is implied that they are tied but it is actually not shown. So once again we have more TV poser-psuedo-bondage where it is left up to the imagination to decide if they are actually tied or not. I don't want to imagine bondage while watching tv, I can do that anytime, I want to SEE the damsels tied up. In this case that didn't happen. The gags were okay, but what is the point if you aren't going to restrain the damsel?
Gabby's scene in the basement with her handcuffed was a bit different, with her standing on the chair and pulling the arms loose to get free. Good thinking on her part instead of just sitting there looking helpless like most damsels would have.
Overall I'd rate it a 2 out of 10, slightly better than no scene at all. And I'm not ragging on Sam or any other poster who liked it, just offering my take on the scene.

Ha..hey thanks for the kind words but no apology or acknowledgement necessary..although I did find it funny..I gave the heads up..then was without a computer till Thurs..checked back in only to find a FIRESTORM I created ;) I didnt respond cause just figured it would all be settled that night with the ep. I understand though..people have been burned (pun intended) here before but thought I gave enough specific detail to warrant a legit heads up. Wont stop me from doing so again if the situation arises. Thanks.

Mother's Day photo
This photo was on bloody disgusting. It shows Lisa Marcos and an unknown bound and gagged.

I'm still curious, though. How did you see the episode ahead of schedule?

Disagree. Why would they show their hands tied for no reason? To introduce continuity errors?

I thought it was a decent scene. Gabrielle Anwar has too many plastic surgery-induced flaws to get me too excited, but she did OK. I thought the Morse Code blinking was a little silly, but at least it showed our tipster was telling the truth.

If we're rating it, I'd give it about a 4 or maybe bump it up to a 5 because of the handcuff scene. Then I might drop it back to a 4 because of the gagged-yet-untied lady at the end.

It looks like, to the best of my ability in comparison, Brianna Evigan in the center, and Alexa Vega on the left. As far as the gentleman on the right, well, his identity is of little concern to me, I'm afraid.

I know a few years ago there was another scene from a movie in which the female was tied & gagged on a video monitor & she communicated to the good guys also by blinking Morse Code at them into the camera. I just can't recall the scene or movie. Not too important, but kind of funny this strategy was employed in at least 2 different movies/shows.

Anyone recall what movie I'm thinking of?

Well, this isn't it, I'm sure, but there was that classic scene from "Mission: Impossible" where Elizabeth Ashley was gagged and used her fingernail to click Morse code over the phone with her hands tied behind her.

No Brianna Evigan has orange hair in this movie so that's not her. I don't know if that's Alexa Vega in the center or what.

Sorry Brian , was not trying to make an insult. I apologize if it sounded like one.

It isn't easy to tell, is it? A lot of these girls look very similar to me. I'm convinced that the one on the left is Alexa Vega, though.
