Since TAU will have it's 30th anniversary of its premiere (1981) this coming January, there's nothing wrong with dreaming about this a little. Here are my current choices:

Amy Robach (NBC) in the Sarah Purcell role.
Mila Kunis in the Kim Lankford role.
Kellie Pickler in the Patricia Klous role.
Paula Patton in the Tracy Reed role.

At the risk of indulging this discussion, there's almost no chance of either of these people being in a role remotely like those.

Maybe in the days before The View, someone like Sarah Purcell could take that role. Today there would be screaming to no end if a female correspondent did that.

Kunis already has said she has no plans to take any DiD roles.

The other two you mentioned are solid picks, but the first two are hopes from another galaxy.

Re: What movie or TV show gave you the fetish?
Sorry to date mysellf, but I came before TV. However, as a young bored lad, I watched two teenage boys tie a girl to a telephone pole just a few feet from me. I have no recollection of how the gal was freed. They did nothing but leave her there. And I knew I was hooked and wanted to do that.

When TV appeared, sky king did the job. Penny was tied up some way nearly every week. Anyone remember her perils?

What did she say? I must have missed this. What a colossal shame.

Being a child growing up in the UK in the sixties my first TV memories are of watching Man from UNCLE for the adventure. Then they introduced us to the mesmeric April Dancer in Girl from UNCLE
I was instantly a 10 year old with my first crush on a TV/Movie star

About the same time a similar thing happened in the UK when Tara King took over from Emma Peel in the Avengers. To this day, I am still a "Tara man"

I know Man from UNCLE had bondage scenes but I was not aware of them until much later. Also, I now have the whole series of Girl from UNCLE on DVD and have to say that none of April's bondage scenes are particularly good and the series is awful.

Obviously, Emma Peel had bondage scenes but Tara's were the first ones I was aware of

By my calculation my awareness of such things therefore started about 1968

Ah, Memories

Thanks a lot Jay L. The more people are able to find these scenes, the better for this community.
Thank you also for the videos that you kindly sent to me.

Hear hear. She's forever sexy. She's like sexy in a Mylar sleeve. ... Which, come to think of it, would be especially sexy. Well, with air holes, of course.

Lifetime movie
The Devil's Teardrop airs Sunday at 8 p.m. on Lifetime Movie Network. Typical storyline about a killer being tracked by a hot FBI agent (Natasha Henstridge) with help from a hand-writing expert whose family (with Rena Sofer) might be next on the list.

I'd prefer Henstridge get B&G, but will take Sofer as well.

I agree with you that The Girl from UNCLE was a terrible show and that April Dancer's bondage predicments were weak, but I also eagerly anticipated each new episode and loved her scenes nonetheless.

As for The Avengers, Mrs. Peel will always be my favorite, if only for the look she gave Steed just before returning to her newly-found husband in the last episode. What a sweetie! That said, I agree Tara's bondage scenes were far superior to anything that ever happened to Mrs. Peel, and I would much rather watch Tara modeling her gags for us.

Okay, I'll get somewhat realistic:

Sela Ward in the Sarah Purcell role (who says it has to be a blonde?);
Laura Prepon in the Kim Lankford role (yes, I also have a "That '70's Show" fetish, plus she could use the work).

Of course, another Sarah...Palin...would get my vote in 2012 if she took over the previous Sarah's role! :)

You can't beat the classic actresses and good all round acting for roles like this - my nominees:

Bea Arthur
Betty White
Rue McClanahan
Estelle Getty

Late alert for this on Chiller tonight at 10:30pm. Victoria Pratt restrained and I think gagged in open minutes.

Hey, it's made by Dennis Widmyer, the guy who runs Chuck Palahniuk's official website. He also made the feature film "Absence", which features a damsel in two scenes: one where she is kidnapped, bound with chains and gagged with a wrap-around duct tape gag, and one where she poses for a bondage photo shoot. "Absence" has yet to be released.

On his IMDb bio page, another DiD film is mentioned:

"'Shed', a lean mean horror tale about a couple who discovers a kidnapped victim, bound and gagged, in the shed of the cabin they're staying in."

Okay, it doesn't say whether the victim is a male or a female, but... he already gave us a short film and a feature film which are both DiD-heavy. Who knows?

Proving once again that flamers always can bring a topic to an end.
