| On TNT. At least where I am now (Colorado, Mountain Time), the episode where "Sam" (Vanessa Marcil) gets bound and gagged with duct tape just started right now. If memory serves, the better scenes come in the following episode (which will be tomorrow, I believe), but she the action starts in this one. (It's a little late for a VCR Alert so I'm posting it here.) |

| Speaking of Vanessa Marcil, she's due to return to General Hospital next month. Storylines are sketchy at the moment, but her character, Brenda, is a big supermodel and that's supposed to put her in some kind of danger. Here's a quote from the soap's head writer: "but here's the real downside to this new career: Her work has given her a public face and that'll put her in severe jeopardy that will ultimately involve all our heroes in Port Charles." One rumor has it that the Russian mob is after her. Another rumor floating around is she has a stalker that initially kidnaps Sam (Kelly Monaco) by mistake. Those are just rumors right now, and GH, more than all the other soaps, puts out a lot of misinformation, but we should have a clearer picture of what's coming up when official early spoilers come out at the end of this week. |

| Cant believe i'm breaking this. Last nights (7/27) Attack of the Show on G4 had a scene. Blonde cutie alison Haislip was roped and gagged in a spoof of a video about soccer celebrations. She was very loosely roped and gagged with a blue cloth between the teeth in preparation for being branded (off screen). All done for comedic effect. |

Nothing of interest for this forum. Her kidnapper was revealed at the end of the episode. I think the woman kidnapper is supposed to move Barbara soon to a wine cellar, that would probably be the best hope for a b&g scene. Vague spoilers for the week of August 9 say Emily (Kelley Menighan Hensley) discovers Barbara in the wine cellar and is then kidnapped as well. I'm thinking they'll probably just be locked in a room together. |

| I'm currently reading "Darkly Dreaming Dexter", the novel on which the series "Dexter" is based. The plot of the series adheres closely to the plot of the novel, except for the method by which Dexter's hot sister, Deborah, is kidnapped by the villain. Also, in the series, Deborah is kidnapped while wearing street clothes. In the novel, she is kidnapped while dressed for undercover work as a streetwalker; she is wearing gold lame hot pants and a blouse that is tied off at her midriff. She is bound and gagged in both the series and the novel, but wouldn't it have been better if she were bound and gagged in the hot pants and blouse in the series? |

You're right; the contexts in which she met the villainous serial killer were in the book and the television series were totally different. Due to her physical attractiveness, she works undercover as a streetwalker in both the book and the movie. In the book, she is abducted by the serial killer when she stops by her foster brother Dexter's apartment before she reports to work that morning. In the television series, the villainous serial killer kidnaps her in a totally different situation. Are you sure it was a date? She was wearing her work clothes, professional attire when she was kidnapped. |
