Wednesday June 05 02:26:35 2002 Flesh Hunters Reference Post |
Record number: 7318 Title: Flesh Hunters (2002) Medium: Movie Actress: Two unknowns Description: Cheap horror film from "Dead Alive" productions. One actress, a blonde who looks a little like Gillian Anderson, is tied and collared while kneeling. Later she, another actress and two putzes are tied kneeling with strap panel gags. Film does not appear under this title in the IMDb. This one abit of a bugger to find cast info, or much else on huh? Put a box cover photo if anyone wants to take a crack ID'ing Gillian? Wednesday June 05 17:01:33 2002 Whither "Soaps"? |
I wanted to get some feedback on this question.
How should a program such as METEOR GARDEN, a Taiwanese evening (I assume) soap, be listed ... as a "Soap Opera" (as I've done) or as a "TV Series" (as the author for the other show entry has chosen)? I checked to see how MI DESTINO ERES TU, a Mexican soap, was handled, and it's listed as a soap. Would it make sense to make the distinction between open-ended soaps, such as in the US, and programs with a "season", such as the Mexican soaps? The former would be "Soaps", and the latter "TV Series". That would mean some changes to the entries. Would it be worth it? |

The anal-retentive side of me says that a series should be designated as a "soap" if it's open-ended and labeled a "TV series" if it has a finite season, i.e., "Dynasty" or "Dallas". The common sense side of me wonders how we could be sure we had the series placed in the correct category if the series are foreign? From my checks, the IMDb isn't particularly consistent when it comes to identifying genres. In other words, I'm flexible and willing to help change the database entries if we come to a consensus and are provided useful information. |

Wednesday June 05 19:48:39 2002 Question For Brian & Editors? |
Any particular format you prefer for Music Videos in Other Category? Gave up trying to ID B&Cleaved Agent Liz in the Paul Brandt video, now just want to sort them all the same. Like? Paul Brandt: Canadian Man ? Canadian Man by Paul Brandt? IMDB has the Madonna:___, but only for tours released on video. Let me know, and I'll sort the lot. |

Mexican telenovelas don't have seasons, they just have more limited runs than US soaps. I've always counted those as soaps because of the nature of the program, with continuing storylines and large casts. I'd prefer their designation stay the same. |

> Any particular format you prefer for Music Videos in > Other Category? > Paul Brandt: Canadian Man ? > > Canadian Man by Paul Brandt? I guess partly, how important is it to have the artist in the title? Of the two shown, I guess I prefer the first, but I'm not hard over. |

I vote for the video's title in the Title field and the artist in the Description field. |

I wasn't sure, and I should've said the former. So, I'd think METEOR GARDEN would qualify as a soap by those standards: large cast, continuing storylines. Anyone object to that? |
