Sunday July 07 12:19:21 2002 Queen of swords |
Database ref. 4418
Episode Kidnapped Actress Elsa Pataki Description: (please let me know if this too insignificant to just a correction-I am thinking of problems for folks who read the description first and wants to tape the episode afterwords) Only correction is the order of the two scenes (I just saw the whole ep); first she is tied to a tree, later to a saddlehorn. |

Sunday July 07 15:24:04 2002 SHINZO |
I've switched the order for 7559's title to "Shinzo (aka Mashuranbo)", based on the info I have. This site (http://www.pazsaz.com/shinzo.html) states that SHINZO is "based on" MASHURANBO. I take that to mean that the latter is the Japanese version. I left it in the title, as I thought it might be useful, but I'm leaving it out of subsequent listings, since I assume there are other "Americanized" versions of Japanese animé (possibly SAILOR MOON or MEDABOTS, for instance) with different titles in Japan, but are listed in the DB by the US version's title. Make sense ... or should I lose "(aka Mashuranbo)" completely? |

I had switched them because the IMDb listed the primary title as Mashuranbo with Shinzo as the "aka." Of course, Medabots and Sailor Moon are the primary titles for their IMDb listing. Go figure. |

Go figure. > I'd rather not, as I have a slight headache at the moment. SHINZO is the title for the series that debuted on ABC FAMILY yesterday. What I'm asking is whether what appears to be the Japanese title should be kept for the first entry, deleted, or added to every entry for the series as an alternate title. I'd say flush it, as other animé series are listed in the DB without their Japanese titles. I don't know if any changes, aside from language, have been made to it, as in other series, but if so, it's not really the same program, but an altered version. |

I've been gradually changing foreign film/TV series entries to the primary IMDb title with the English language as the aka. The animé titles I've seen in the database match up to the IMDb titles. Shinzo doesn't for some reason, probably because the IMDb entry was created by normal folks rather than industry professionals. Anywho, if consistency with the IMDb is the name of the game, the database entry should be "Mashuranbo aka Shinzo." I don't plan on losing any sleep over it one way or t'other, though. |
