[#7783]- More Tears, -Whomever Edited This Entry?
Whomever edited this entry?

You added:
"Short-lived late 90s Canadian drama"

Figure 'drama' doesn't really apply here.
What's the common US term for Acid Comedy? Say that, as notice you fellas in US have your own terms for this.
Dark Satire?

Don't see shows like this on US stations, probably due to higher budgets? So don't know of one to compare it to?

The fella that makes the shows, casts himself and the other leads as extremely self-absorbed twits.
Ep description should say it all, couple's daughter was murdered by a serial killer, so fashion company has a show with bound and gagged models wearing styles designed by the couple?
That, and either News execs being pleased with death and destruction for ratings. Lady being caring/sympathetic whilst giving interviews to tragedy victims, then soon as camera off berating cameraman in front of everyone for not centering on her, etc etc.
Characters like this.

Figure Warped Humour Comedy for US term?

I'd call it "sardonic satire" ... 'cause I like alliteration ... and it seems to fit.

And no ... unless a pay network like HBO or possibly PBS takes a shot on it (I've seen NEWSROOM aired on public TV, but I'm hard-pressed to think of anything produced down here recently), this sort of program will air stateside when pork levitates.

I edited it, but I'm not sure where I picked up on "drama" now; it must have been on somebody or other's website when I was doing some research, because I've never seen the show.

Other terms for the genre that are used in the States are "black comedy" and "dark comedy."
