After the commercial break (when first aired) she's shown bound spreadeagled on a bed. She's gagged with a washcloth crammed in her mouth and a blue bandanna tied over it when Doggett comes looking for her. Lots of mmmphing. The sequence begins around the 40' mark, and concludes a few minutes before the end of the episode. @3:00pm ShowC Record number: 3627 Title: Water Rats Medium: TV Series Actress: Roxane Wilson Description: Episode: "Blood Relations" (4.12) (Australia) Tied hands behind back on a boat. They put glue on the floor to make her stick and then attack her with saran wrap. From her neck to her waist she's totally wrapped. Some struggling after the boys run off and leave her moving around trying to get loose. Maybe a minute long. She's wearing a skirt & ankle high boots. |

| Salem Witch Trials, Part 2 |

| Those of you who passed on the first half of this four-hour two-parter Sunday nigh haven't really missed an awful lot. A multi-gender wagonload of miscreants with their hands apparently tied-accompanied by some obviously female offenders-who are obvious because they're obviously nude (seen only from behind, of course, but still probably a first for prime-time network TV!), an Exorcist-style spreadeagle that won't make the database for reasons that will be obvious to those of you familiar with the Salem story, and Gloria Reuben as the slave Tituba appearing shackled at the wrists before the pulpit as her Puritan-minister master verbally finishes beating out of her the confession he tried to obtain physically earlier in the film, and that's about it.
The second half probably holds more promise. At the very least, we should get a good execution scene from Shannon Lawson as Brigit Bishop (the first one hanged, as I recall, and the one famous for her last words, with which she promised the judge who condemned her that "God will give you blood to drink!"). If they stay true to history, though, there won't be any pressing scenes involving any of the accused women; the only person subjected to this in reality was a man-and it appears from the preview that the film won't take license with this. Whether any of the suspected witches were otherwise tortured escapes me; does anyone else know? Guess we'll have to watch Part 2 to find out. |
