Record number: 1863 Title: Frances (1982) Medium: Movie Actress: Jessica Lange Description: About four-fifths of the way through, Frances Farmer's mother has her committed, resulting in her being dragged by two orderlies through the halls of a mental institution in a straitjacket, screaming and struggling as she's shoved into a cell. Next she's shown lying barefoot in a rather short hospital gown on a gurney, being held down at the wrists, neck, and one thigh, but not bound, and gagged with a rolled-up white cloth as she's given an electroshock treatment. Immediately afterward there's a shot of another female patient being wheeled into Farmer's ward covered with a sheet. Two orderlies lift her onto a bed and strap her down by her wrists as the camera cuts away to show Farmer sitting on the floor by her bed. Next is a sequence where an old friend of hers slips into the asylum at night, finding her strapped to her bed by her wrists. One of the doctors gives her an injection to calm her for a hearing in the morning that will decide if she'll be released. About 15 minutes later, there's a final scene, occuring after Farmer has been committed once more, where she's wheeled into a classroom, covered with a sheet and secured to the gurney with a strap around her midsection, so a doctor can demonstrate a rather gruesome lobotomy technique on her. |

She's locked in an animal cage and thrown on a plane headed for parts unknown. There's a struggle scene in which she's gassed and injected with sodium pentothal (I suppose) previous to the BG scene, at around the 40' mark. The BG scene comes in about 45' in. |

Her wrists are tied behind her back, and her feet are also tied. She's rescued by the hero, only to find herself tied to a post (hands, torso, legs) in a later scene. No gag. ____________ @5:00am Space/Imagination Record number: 2869 Title: Sliders Medium: TV Series Actress: Kari Wuhrer Description: Episode: "Please Press One" (5.6) Wrists are tied to the arms of some sort of torture chair. Plenty of screaming, hence no gag. __________ @6:00pm Space/Imagination Record number: 5214 Title: Lost World, The Medium: TV Series Actress: Jennifer O'Dell, Rachel Blakely Description: Episode: "Survivors" (2.18) In the last half hour the entire cast (males included) is knocked out and bound and gagged in a cave. The scene begins with a wide shot of them all laid out on the ground, hands tied behind their backs. We first see an unconscious "Marguerite" (Rachel Blakely) who is cleave gagged. Unfortuately there's no closeup of Rachel and it's a blink and you miss it scene and hard to see. Then the camera pans to "Roxton" and "Veronica" (Jennifer O'Dell) who are struggling to free themselves. He manages to pull a knife from O'Dell's belt and cut her hands free. Then we are treated to an excellent closeup of O'Dell cleave gagged. It's quick and somewhat dark but she looks great. She leaves her gag on while she unties her feet. When we next see Blakely she's just been untied but the gag is still hanging around her neck. |
