Record number: 647 Title: X-Files, The Medium: TV Series Actress: Gillian Anderson, Sharon Alexander Description: Episode: "Unruhe" (4.4) Mulder and Scully track a psychotic killer, who's psychic photographs reveal the madman s murderous fantasies. He kidnaps women, binds them to a dentist chair and gags them with duct tape, and then kills them by inserting a spike into the brain. Early in the show, we see one such victim (actress unknown), bound and gagged with tape. Later, the killer hides underneath Scully's car and KO's her by injecting a needle into her ankle. He carries her in his arms and then drives off to his hideout. When Scully wakes up, she is duct taped to a dentist chair, her wrists taped down to the arms of the chair. After some talking, the bad guy finally realizes he must do her in, grabs the tape, and gags her-- excellent close-up as the tape is applied to her pouty lips. Furious mmmpphhffing ensues, but when Mulder shows up, the killer is distracted and Scully manages to break free of the tape and rips off her gag. Mulder saves her, shooting and killing the psycho. This is a great scene overall--excellent mmmpphffing and emoting, and plenty of close-ups as well, complete with on-screen gagging. |

Extensive scene as the psycho killer taunts her while bound. |

Record number: 1036 Title: Cheyenne Takes Over (1947) Medium: Movie Actress: Nancy Gates Description: Fay Wilkins (Gates) has witnessed a murder; the bad guys don't want to kill her, but threaten her never to reveal their secret or else. She tells Cheyenne (Lash LaRue) though, so the gang decides to get rid of both of 'em. First they lure her to their hideout, where chief bad guy John Merton says those immortal words, "Make her comfortable" (translation, tie her to a chair and cleave-gag her with a thick bandanna -- possibly one rolled inside the other). The bad guys then use her for bait. Not to worry -- Cheyenne wasn't born yesterday! Short scene, but has several close-ups of Fay as she reacts to Cheyenne apparently walking into the trap. Plus, after she's rescued by the Sheriff and Cheyenne's sidekick, there are two shots of Fay standing next to them with the gag hanging from her neck. Nancy Gates is a drop-dead gorgeous brunette; she's tied up wearing gloves that can best be described as gauntlets, a riding skirt, boots, a vest and a cute white cowgirl hat. (Her bound hands are only suggested, however.) |

| Thursday's episode ended with a pretty brunette hogtied in a basement. No gag. She was doing a lot of struggling and was yelling "Ayuda me" (help me). Previews for the Friday episode showed her still hogtied but not gagged. The DiD was wearing jeans and a red shirt.
Since this is a novella and not a US soap, I'd expect her to stay captive for a while. |

In the climatic scene, a stout (read fat) Peter Lorre menaces Valerie Mathis (Christian). Wearing an evening dress, her wrists are bound behind a pipe and she's loosely cleave-gagged with a thick piece of cloth. "Climax" was a 90 minute live anthology series. The only extant copies of this production were off kinescope. |
