Record number: 1172 Title: The Boston Strangler (1968) Medium: Movie Actress: Sally Kellerman Description: Playing an apartment manager who survived her encounter with the strangler, she's ironing when Albert DeSalvo (Tony Curtis) comes to her door. Next he's shown standing over her bed-how he subdued her isn't shown-tearing her yellow print dress into strips, which he uses to spreadeagle her. It's implied she's nude, but we are limited to closeups of her face, and of him tying her wrists and ankles. She manages to get a wrist and ankle free and kicks him, and he responds by putting his hand over her mouth to stifle her screams. She bites his hand, and he pulls free of her, repeatedly punching her in the face before leaving. |

A couple of minutes later Tess and Hoss are bound wrists in front and taken away on horseback. There're some shots of Tess during the ride, then being taken off the horse. They're later seen sitting tied with wrists behind around the separate tree trunks. |

Record number: 1352 Title: Carmen Jones (1954) Medium: Movie Actress: Dorothy Dandridge Description: As the title character in this version of Bizet's opera, set on a World War II Army base manned by black soldiers, she's a military prisoner being driven to jail by a corporal (Harry Belafonte). About 20 minutes in, after his jeep has to halt for a train, she tries to escape by hopping onto the slow-moving caboose. He does likewise, chasing her across a flatcar before she jumps off and rolls down an embankment, where he grabs her by her ankles and then sits on top of her, lashing her ankles together with his belt as she beats his back with her fists. Then he pulls a large white cloth from his pocket, with which he ties her hands behind her back, and hoists her over his shoulder to carry her back to the jeep. A few minutes later, after he's run the jeep into a river off a collapsed bridge, he carries her over his shoulder once more, then lets her sweet-talk him into untying her. |

About 20 minutes into the movie, he ties her hands in front with a rawhide thong after placing her on a horse. Several minutes later, after failing in an attempt to attract the attention of a passerby, she struggles with him and he wrap-gags her with a tan cloth strip, which is how she rides to another tribe's camp with him, where they stop for the night. He ties her hands again that evening over her rather mild protests, but cuts the thong off the next night after gaining her trust. |
